    I feel the jacksons should have let Mike do his thriller tour and later he would have reunited with them....instead we had this debacle and the jacksons never toured again as a group

      Agreed! They should've stopped they're jealous bullshit and let him do his thriller tour just sit back for a while. The show would've been better received, more anticipate, and more energy!

      After Motown 25 the anticipation and energy for the Jacksons was received extremely well. I remember it like yesterday. It was a big deal in 84. Take a look at mtv’s Billie Jean live and see for yourself.

      Not to mention, if he had done a Thriller tour, his brothers wouldn't have been around to talk him into doing those Pepsi commercials which caught Michael's hair on fire, getting him addicted to painkillers for life.

    I was there at Arrowhead Stadium on the tour's opening night as the guest of Chuck Sullivan. Saw the concert from the floor of Arrowhead stadium right in the middle, several rows back from the front. A great vantage point! One of the two or three best concerts I've seen in my life, and I've seen a lot of concerts by most of the top names in the business. It's unfortunate how the tour fumbled the ticket sales mechanism. But that doesn't change the fact that the Victory Tour was a smash among fans, and it unquestionably forever changed the concert business for artists. Before the Victory tour, you could get a concert ticket to even the biggest artists for $12 or $15 a set. It was unthinkable at the time that the Jacksons were getting upwards of $30 or $40 for a single ticket. But it all seems rather quaint today, doesn't it? This was the tour that changed that trajectory. And for that, musical artists owe a lot of Michael Jackson and his brothers and the Victory tour.

    Unfortunately his father was greedy and hired the worst person to manage THE concert tour of the century. This was the tour for Thriller and Don King ruined it.
    This is why Michael stopped working with his family.

    • @maxferdy7702
      @maxferdy7702 Před 2 lety +3

      I think one of the reasons why he stopped working with his family was because I think he was still salty about the Pepsi accident to promote this tour… but it’s a theory, im not stating this as my final answer

    • @RocStarr913
      @RocStarr913 Před rokem

      I think even if wasn’t Don King or the Pepsi commercial accident, it wasn’t going to stop Michael from musically splitting with The Jacksons. It was clear that he had little reason other than family ties to still work with them.

    Duran Duran put on a far better show. Prince and the Revolution Purple Rain tour is rightfully rated higher than this crap. Yes, I saw all three shows live. Michael Jackson carrying Emmanuel Lewis backstage, flying with the imp in a private plane while his brothers had to find their own way. Dysfunctional family describes them perfectly.
