Apple made this change from iOS 14.5 if you have older iOS and you changed the sysconfig then you must check if it get bypassed on activation screen or not if not then you need to restore and if you need to restore them yeah you need to update to iOS 14.8-15 and then it will get stuck on activation with an error couldn’t be activated

So when changing SN from a6 device on iPad 5 wifi model, you need to replace wifi ic anyway?
