- This video is about the Toyota 2jz motor, the successor to the 1jz motor. It is one of the most reliable and overbuilt engines by a car manufacturer that has gained a lot of popularity due its robust internals and rotating assembly.
But not all 2jz engines are the same! some can handle over a 1000hp and some can't even make more than 400 before blowing up.
In this episode I explain what makes the 2jz such a great engine the difference between its different variations.

you can also go 1jzgte (non or vvti). same block, just a smaller stroke (71.5mm) which is better for high revs. they made a boat load of them and they are just as good at making power as the 2jz, and they are cheaper

You said that the 2jz ge vvti has weak connection rods and high compression pistons. If you would swap these out for stronger rods and low compression pistons. Could u push it to like 800hp?

All the turbo 2jz motors were twin turbo from factory. But most people don't keep the twin turbo setup and replace it with a big single turbo

If you're gonna do a video on the 2JZ, you would be remiss not do one on the RB26. They're like yin and yang. Peanut butter and jelly. Cool-aid and sugar. Cereal and milk... I think you get my point. However if you do not, I have a few more examples I could give that might get you over the finish line
