Most damaged valves can be repaired by replacing the Diverter Valve Assembly inside the Diverter Valve Body. Occasionally, the Valve body itself may break and you will have to replace the whole valve assembly which is integrated in your plumbing. This guide shows you how to replace a single Diverter Valve. - Jak na to + styl
Don't use a power tool to tighten the valve screws. You can destroy the plastic threading or over tighten and crack the housing body. Hand tighten only.
Wish I saw this video earlier. I stripped mine now I think that's why I'm getting bubbles in my returning jets
When you don't know how to use the torque adjustment, you get this issue .... RTFM
Fantastic thank you very much appreciated
I hope you comment. I have a valve on the discharge side (3 way) going to the roof solar heater or to the pool depending on operation needs. It is off all the time due to a solar heater leak. It makes a loud vibration noise when the pool is shut off. It is 20 years old and I am told to replace it not rebuild because of its age. But it is in a tough spot. Can I still get parts?
How can I stop the main drain water lines from flowing on an in-ground pool?
Does anyone have a diverter valve connected to an Ortega valve?
Hello. Can I use a diverter 1-1/2 instead of the 2- 2 1/2?
You may have asked this on on another video and mentioned the fact that the pump was not working. First, make sure the new valve isn't closing off one of the lines that was previously open. Going from a larger valve to a smaller valve would decrease the water flowing to the pump. This could impact larger HP pumps, 1.5HP and higher. Larger pumps could struggle to fully prime. If the pump is not turning on, you may have other issues like a bad motor or electrical problem.
❤😊two thumbs up
Are the housing the same on a manual valve and a actuator one?
The housings are the same between the manual and actuator controlled valves.
Thanks
No concerns conecting PVC to ABS? Was a different cement used to do so?
black CPVC to PVC, not ABS.
Thanks... but. How do you stop the water from draining so I can remove the old valve?
If the equipment is higher than the water level, the water will drain back into the pool. If the equipment is lower than the water level, you can plug the skimmer and return line. Threaded plugs or rubber expansion plugs can be used.
@@Inyopools Thank you! I'll try that.
@@Inyopools how do you plug the main drain ? Do you do it right before it comes into the three way valve or in the pool?
If your pipes move that easy in the ground ..You have big problems.
With a heat gun, will solve some situation when there're no spaces for you to cut and reconnect the valve.
Thank you for sharing that tip.
What if you don't have enough room to remove pipe. My valve is pretty much on the connectors.
use dremel tool to carefully cut out valve from pipes.
heat the valve connections with a heat gun to loosen the cement.
Sell your house and move....
Lol
why no using coupling nuts instead if is something that will be need to replaced time to time.
I agree that a valve with unions would be ideal. CMP has a variety of diverter valves that come with unions on the ports. www.inyopools.com/ProductListing/valves_jandy.aspx
3 more potentials for leaks; normally you would only replace the internal valve assembly, not the entire valve.
@@luisderivas6005 yup. That's usually what I do
Don’t do this! There is a much easier way then destroying all your pool equipment. Yikes, it’s a 5$ part watch other videos
$5 ? I seriously doubt it. There is nothing under $5 now in regards to plumbing parts.
The part was actually 74.00. Substantially more than first quoted., Installation, 5 minutes, -0- $ . But no need to cut pipes.
