In todays video, I thought I'd take a look at look at their new branding (as in the logo and enigne livery) and see how it could be just a tiny bit...BETTER.

You should see all the railroads we lost in the U.S. over the past 6-7 decades.
CPKFC my beloved
I think the name CAM Rail would've worked the best- Canadian, American, and Mexican Railroad using a tri-flag logo. Red-bodied locomotives with blue, white, and green stripes like the multimark livery.
I wouldn't be surprised if they just reverted back to Canadian Pacific like Illinois Central Gulf did.
I do find it funny they went with the Unstoppable-esque option, and that the fuel tank on the freshly painted unit was dusty (I wrote a promo for my channel on the dust of 9375!)
Or CANUM (CAnadaUsMexico)
Why not Canadian Pacific & Southern (CP&S)?
or CUM Rail... Canada, United states and Mexico.
@@CFRTrainSpotter Clever!
@@WAL_DC-6B well it is the CUM zone after all...
the employees prob got held at gun point if they didn't pick option one
We all must remember, like every other railroad, they'll probably make a new scheme in like 5 to 10 years from now, this is just their first scheme, every other railroad that is a result of a merger has always changed their paint scheme in 10 to 15 years after the first scheme
That's a lie. BNSF changed their paint scheme from H1 to H2 in less then a decade. CSX did the same thing, and had multiple paint schemes in less then 5 years. CPKC could change their scheme sooner

CPKC is just a ham fisted way to dodge the fact that KCS is dead. Own it, literally, and call it Canadian Pacific. And if the higher ups are struggling with that, give me a CEO salary for a year and I'll do it for them! 😁😂😂😂
at 8:46 i love the fact you added the video where that CPKFC that caught on fire in london ontario
Best CPKFC rant yet
So, I'm writing these comments as I go along. This should be fun.
- Tails is still best (remember that?)
- Canadian National losing the bid was hilarious and a lot of the KCS employees I talked to do not like them at all. Of course, they'd also prefer if their company wasn't taken over in the first place..
- I shall smite you with the KCS gods for the afterthought.
- The only defense I can give of the CPKC name is the acronym has a nice rhythm to it. It also rhymes. That's it. Stupid name.
- A name I would have chosen from CPKC would be something along the lines of utilizing the only freaking N-S transcon through all 3 countries in NA... Perhaps something like a North American Connection? Or perhaps TransCon National???? But no, we absolutely HAVE to keep the Canadian heritage...
- My KCS bias says screw keeping the CP branding - they erased our beloved KCS :'(((((
- I think the font is just Helvetica. Used by shit tons of companies. even Amtrak once upon a time.
- I've already stated my opinions on the paint scheme (I think it's fine-ish. Not my first option but not the worst and looking at it from a graphical design perspective it's also alright. Just nothing special or groundbreaking), and that's just how it's gonna go down. We all have our opinions - I can safely say that I'm heavily biased to the fact they barely kept any of the KCS brandings and that's the biggest disappointment to me on this, but the employees chose it (supposedly) and we can't really do anything about it. Maybe if one day, one of us gets into power... Oh well.
Overall, a fun video which offers an interesting perspective. Perhaps I should touch up on this one day with my own doc...
They should adopt Can-Kan as a nickname.
In southern Ontario the CASO sub (at least where I live) has been abandoned for more than a decade and a good chunk of it has been turned into paved and gravel "greenway trails". CN was the last one to operate on it as far back as I can remember.
It's time to add some cpkc engines to my collection
you cant fix what's already broken pal
Foamers should just start calling in the Can-Kan. Like the dance. Ooooh la la.
I love the idea of Canada slowly invading the US
12:04 "We're not Minecraft CZcamsrs"
Part of the merger included that both railroad names had to be combined, which doesn’t really make any sense when they could’ve just bought KCS and kept the original CP name and called it a day.
The CPKCS AWVR scheme really shows the state of the railroad
cpkfc, finger lickin engines (this made so sense just wanted to be one of the first commenters)
ahh Yes the CPKFC, IM STILL WAITING FOR YOU TO DELIVER MY CHICKEN!!!

Besides the cpkfc criticism this was a really well edited video lol. u got a new subscriber.
Thanks for watching! Yea tbh it could seem like it's just nitpicking but I feel they could've put more effort into the rail branding.
honestly, the 1881 should've been changed to 2021, seeing as how they merged that year
Thanks for using my video at 1:21!
I agree with your design proposal for their corporate identity revamp.
Ngl the CPKC livery looks really good
Would have paid for it to be a "Certain Arizona foamer who has California in his name"😭
The question I would of raised on any trade board is now 1 railroad company (Krispy Fried Canucks) can send a shipment from Canada to Mexico & vice-versa. Isn't that a monopoly? Union Pacific already haves track rights in Mexico. They should be allowed to go into Canada ( if they can't now. IDK )
Hey, great vid man.
10:25 "Literally just a Deviantart reskin of CN but Backwards"

Btw I really hate CPKFC
Honestly why didn't they just go with Kanadian Pacific 💀
Hi The Winnipeg Railfan & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks The Winnipeg Railfan & Friends Randy
the angry Canadian Railway messes up again lol
I personally love CPKC's new paint scheme!
Especially the Gold Maple Leaf and Beaver insignia..and the triple flags!
The best CPKC livery that anyone came up with were the ones that Cesar Vergara came up with, they’ve got giant more streamlined looking font for the logo, and have versions incorporate blue and green as well as an all red one to represent the flags of the US, Canada, and Mexico, though I doubt any railway would decide to go with a paint scheme that has 3 different standard versions of it
Nah bruh that shit looked like BC Rail😂
@@LongIslandRailfanner and???
@@LongIslandRailfanner BC rail was peak though. nothing wrong with a scheme that looks similar to them.
@@serotonin-deprived I don't hate BC Rail, It is or was a great railroad
I was just thinking about the paint scheme they used on the locomotives from Unstoppable. They should have used those paint scheme colors instead. As for the CPKC current new livery, i would've at least painted the bottom part of the locomotive and three axle trucks silver because painting the bottom part of the motive power black is like dull
i dont really consider cp to be dead since they bought kcs at the end of the day and it still says 1881 in the logo
I remember when i first heard about the merger and u thought the new name only applied to KCS only
Canada Southern was spun off by Conrail to CN and CP in the early 80s so the name ownership might actually be split between the two of them as opposed to staying with Conrail
this video tickled my elbows
So here's another funny thing about the name: of course, CPKC runs throughout Canada, including in Quebec, where the name is pronounced in French. In French "CPKC" is roughly prononouced "say-pay-kah-say". The really funny part is that "kah-say" sounds like the French word "cassé" which means broken. So when you say CPKC in French it really sounds like "CP Broken". Bet you Mr. Creel never thought of that. 😛
I'm not being a CP or KCS foamer, but I like option 1 the best.
Bro fixed the logo then “BONK” in Mexico City.
Honestly i think the new paint scheme looks fine
Yeah, like it could've been worse tbh
I like the new paint scheme but I personally would've gone with a combo of options 2 & 5 a lot more (Option 5 but with 2's nose stripes)
@@southeastmichiganrailfan5764I prefer a mix of 3 and 5 with a multimark and maybe the KCS color palette or maybe mixing the color palette of both railroads to make a new one
Neat vid!

10:10 Yo I think this is my thumbnail from one of my videos. "CPKC 2816 Event at Kansas City Union Station!!"
I think it is, Is it still ok if it's in the video? I think I gave credit at the end just incase
Yes it's good 👍
CPKC sounds Chinese to me. "Canadian People's Kommunists of China" or whatever.
(and where's the CCCP, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago & Pacific?)
By the way NS is Nederlandse Spoorwegen (with a beautiful timeless double arrow logo) and CP is Comboios de Portugal, even had almost the same bright red livery as Canadian Pacific sometime in the 1970s.
We have Norfolk Shitshow and now we got CPKFC
Living along a CN line, I can't help but think CP's new paint scheme is nothing more than CN's scheme with a yellow stripe instead of a white stripe. How creative. 😔
Exactly! It looks like a backwards CN scheme with gold instead of white, lol.
I would keep it as CPKC as the reporting mark but nickname it as “big 3” because the railroad goes through 3 counties
Most of the concept art before the merger (including some I designed) included a conjoined flag featuring all three countries. That would have been a might better corporate logo for cpkc.
If CPKC did half cp on top and half on bottom that the top would say Canadian pacific on top with its colors and kcs on bottom with Kansas City southern with its colors
Oh man the slander was crazy
If the CPKC paint scheme is this bad, imagine what it would look like on the geeps
CASO was the name of a rail subdivision in southern Ontario
Yep! Went from a company to a Subdivision
The CASO subdivision was pulled up many years ago. The Canada Southern Railway (reporting mark CASO), also known as CSR, was a railway in southwestern Ontario, founded on February 28, 1868
I know you said option 2 sucks A-,
But, if a pair of CPKC gevos were running back to back, then option 2 would have looked good that way, so would option 4, *that’s my opinion so pls don’t get mad*
If they had to use CP and KC, I say it should've been KCCP
Sounds too much like a TV/Radio station west of the Mississippi River in the U.S.
@@WAL_DC-6B And CPKC does't?
@@joeythecat7482 It also does, which is why they should name the railroad/way CP&S (Canadian Pacific & Southern).
Intro was kinda gas tho
I STILL WISH THEY WOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING FOR THE OTHER FALLEN FLAGS, maybe a few more heritage engines?
CPKC Should adds NdeM aka FNM on their logos
Yeah for sure, should've done that for the logo cause they make up what KCSM is today lol
Name should remain very much the same as what it was in 1881, Canadian Pacific RR. Along with logo and paint colors.
Anything else, such as CPKC, etc, etc are nonsense drivel.
Unless CP a 140+ year old Class 1 Rail Road System is seeking to become known as fast foods Jokes.
Great jokes for attracting variety of freight and passenger customers too.
Yes remember history of Kansas City Southern and Trasporto Ferroviera Mexicana, as part of CP Canadian Pacific.
Keep Canadian Pacific name.
Why would say, Union Pacific, etc, etc purge their name and history?
Nice to discover Union Pacific restored Big Boy steam locomotive to operational condition.
As did Canadian Pacific 2816 Empress an touring CAN, US, MEX
Just this video earned you a sub man. Thank goodness someone feels the same way I do about CPKC and yes their paint scheme is atrocious in my book.
I got's a better idea, buy up the the competition, mandate 5 person crews, bring back the caboose, and paint everything in SOME sort of Southern Pacific style livery and hold stocks in 2 major trucking companies....wait....that's my fictional railroad... Though not gonna lie, Multi-mark is a smart looking livery. I model a variety of railroads from a variety of nations in N-scale (can you see why I have a variety yet?) and the CP Multimark always pops out away from my more abundant US fleet. I just stands out. And that's IF we leave out all the military, and first responders locomotives (I only have 2 heritage units, UP's Southern Pacific unit, and NS' PRR unit)...oh and my American fleet...it's broken up into 2 different era's, the 70's to 90's, and 2000-present. Though NGL, I want some DM&E! Gimme my childhood railroad!
11:40 if cn went thru and bought KCS then i would also still stand at rail road crossing looking like an idiot taking pictures and videos of CN trains
i feel like cpkc could've consulted railfans and they alone would've made it a way better railroad
at least CPKFC brought back 2816
we lost the two best class ones
How does 'North American Pacific' sound? Keep CP for Canadian operations, but I think North American Pacific would work for US and Mexico operations.
Sounds dumb
They chose CPKC because of Keith Creel's initials.
Keith Creel is such a megalomaniac, that he needed to have his name in the company's name.
YEAH LITERALLY! I forgot if I had that in the script or not, but I've been joking that it stands for Canadian Pacific Keith Creel LOL

If CN bought KC they would not change To CNKC Guaranteed
yup exactly, it'd still just be CN, their engines would just get KCS reporting marks on the side, lol
At least we got to see some KCS units up north. Rarely was there much foreign power on CP Rail before the merger. CN buying KCS would just make KCS units get repainted into CN colors.
