The whole purpose of Kick is to provide a platform where slots can be streamed to funnel more people on to the stake website so they gamble themselves, that‘s it.
No the whole point is twitch is a shit company who only cares about their white streamers who follow they’re every rule. Twitch is so ass backwards with their punishments and rules it makes 0 sense for anyone who’s no a puppet to stay there. Kick has no TOS, meaning you can’t be banned for anything (just like it should be) meanwhile on twitch you get a perma ban for saying the wrong thing but they give a 7 day to a girl getting fucked on stream
Also a HUGE RED FLAG is that there is no privacy policy shown anywhere on the website. When it asks you to accept cookies it says you have to accept their usage of cookies and privacy policy BUT it does not let you actually read them. I would not make an account before this is fixed.
edit. typo
That's just obviously in violation of the GDPR
I was able to decline might just be eu frog
@@tomaslane6018 Yeah you can press decline but it does nothing as the message says continuing to use to site means you have accepted whether or not you press the agree button. The problem is more so the fact that the terms you're agreeing to by using the site are not shown anywhere.
lol, if they want to stay operational in Europe, they better add this asap
Another red flag is that I can't seem to find a way to delete my account. I unfortunately made one just to secure a username but now I don't really care about having it at all.

Hate when people say that gambling streams "don't encourage gambling." Why else would these companies be going through so much effort and pouring so much money into sponsorships and projects like this? Twitch made the right move.
True but let's not pretend that twitch actually cares about people getting addicted to gambling. The only reason they banned it was because of all the outrage.
@@nighthawk2548 sure. charity for the wrong reasons is still charity tho.
Gambling streams actually stopped me gambling cold turkey starting about 2+ years ago. I'm completely on board with this.
@@brandonhyde6985 I'm happy for you, but if gambling steams had a net reduction on the number of people who gamble, then these companies wouldn't sponsor them. Heck, they would probably forbid streaming if it actually decreased the number of "customers".
@@Hotshot2k4 Yeah, I can't imagine them paying 6/7-figure sponsorships to streamers if it isn't generating at *least* double that in revenues for them, and they track every last cent that each creator earns for them.
When i saw the first video i really doubted how Kick would be the so called "twitch killer" when it's most likely made by people just so they can stream gambling without getting into hotwaters.
Probably more than gambling too...
They'll still be in hotwaters 🤣 Probably now worse than ever.
I doubt it when I saw the wild claims being made such as "fair moderation" and 95-100% of revenue to creators. The last point is particularly unviable. Streaming is a high-bandwidth service and hence costs a fair bit of money. It would have to be run at a loss just to promote Stake. And if the platform was to get too popular it would no longer be profitable and then they'd increase their share of revenue. And when it comes to moderation, a gambling-sponsored platform would almost certainly have a skewed sense of moderation. (ex. competitor companies)
@@MsHojat it's interesting where are most of these streamers streaming since online gambling in almost universally banned in the United States except for sports betting
They can now willingly be in hotwaters
Hot tub Meta is returning
I’m confused on how this makes the website a “scam”.. If they pay out the split they promote who gives a fuck if it’s owned/sponsored by a gambling site? People are just ass hurt about gambling and calling it a scam is beyond disingenuous
Hey Lud, any chance you could do a Mogul Mail on the Yogscast Jingle Jam? It's a charity event that happens every year where several game developers put a game of theirs into a collection which can be purchased for £35 (this years collection contains more games than ever and would cost over £1000 if you were to buy the games individually). That £35 goes to a number of really great charities. They're currently live on Twitch and have already raised around £2.4 million. If it's given some more publicity by yourself, not only will it help raise more money but allows a lot of LudBuds to get a lot of great games for a great price.
6:03 is the reason why the platform might not get as great success as it think it'll have
that's pretty much just normal twitch chat. I can think of like half a dozen chats that spam that every few minutes. It's an inevitability at this point.

This is what I appreciate about you Lud! Admitting when you're wrong isn't easy for one to do.
Love you Ludwig, always can count on quality videos.
Yeah when you see them saying 95/5 and 100% of donations then you know somethings wrong. There are transaction fees for even taking those donations and they would be losing money on every donation.
Exactly I mean there still are huge operating costs for stuff like this, like not just huge, massive, that‘s why YT and Twitch are just money holes
Twitch doesn't touch donations in any way. The 100% to streamer one is their equivelant of bits, which is basicly just like in-game currency you can shower streamers with.
@@MrEshah but bits are different prices on PC and mobile. And the amount you pay isn't the amount that's given to the streamer
@@PandasWeightloss Yes, the amount the viewer pays, in their own currency, isn't the amount given to the streamer. However the amount of bits they give is 100% given to the creator (100 bits = 1USD).

Train seriously needs some professional help. His dopamine receptors are probably so fucked up from gambling millions and millions of dollars away that he can't find any joy in life anymore if it doesn't involve high stakes gambling. I've watched a couple of his streams before just out of curiosity and man its absolutely mind-numbing how he just sits there spinning slots for hours on end.

Don't understand how anyone close to train has reached out to help him out, he's clearly insanely addicted, so badly that he platforming a scam crypto company (aka the shack) just because he's getting that bag. I have nothing ill against him but this won't be good for his own mental health or physical, who knows what could happen to him. Money just rots people brains.
Edit: he clearly was right about the twitch critizism, twitch steals so much from creators but I don't think he's supporting kick because of the unfair splits, he's going because he can gamble and get paid to do it.
right, he also keeps villainizing people like poki, hasan and also ludwig who openly supported banning gambling and thinks they're "against him"
He doesn't want help. Can't help someone who doesn't want to help themselves.
@heart been broke so many times his criticism is that twitch only banned certain sites, while also getting a huge sponsorship for sports betting. This was in response to Sliker scamming people for sports betting money, and not slots.
maybe you should stop being so parasocial and worrying about a multi-millionare who wouldnt give a shit if you passed away? maybe thatsss a good idea, if he is making money FROM his addiction he has LITERALLY no reason to stop. gambling is what is putting food on his table, the only reason gambling is bad is because it ruins people financial lives, this is not the case for train. what is even your thought process behind this?? your acting like its a drug addiction
@@dcp0102 gambling is one of the most common addictions, and an incredibly dangerous one at that; it's extremely similar to a drug addiction. and gambling is in no way putting food on his table, promoting it is (and is taking much, much more in the process). maybe you should sort out your thought process man :/
If Kick is able to get streamers that stream… anything that isn’t gambling, it might have a shot of becoming a competitor, but otherwise it gets cancelled in a few years tops. If they do succeed, it’s a bit like how casinos host shows like Cirque de Soleil to get people into their casinos
If Kick gets popular for anything else than Gambling they will go bankrupt in less than a year
@@Kaygu_ Nah, not really. They can run pre roll gambling ads on normal streams and easily recover any big cost. There are enough vulnerable people in normal streams too.
The kick to casino comparison is solid. Good thought
@@migueltucabron Good point, I was struggling to see how they would attract advertisers, but if they just flood all streams with gambling ads and offer gambling partnerships to all streamers it could work for them. This platform could be really dangerous if it gains traction. I hope it dies out
there should be a feature where you can sit and specifically watch ads to get some form of currency used in streams. viewer/company split where the viewers earned amount can be used for donations, emotes etc. idk my uneducated thoughts
6 months later... what's your take on it now with some of the new policies from twitch?
Yeah I came back here to see what he said and he was soo wrong 😂
Good call quickly fixing your stance on this. Kick is way too sketchy right now on multiple levels.
Lud, the quarterly report for 2022 is for the second quarter, which was a lil bit earlier before the 50/50 split, some of the biggest transfers and the drama explosion in October; the market split might be kinda different now
what that chart proves is that if more people streamed on YT it would completely dominate... 8 mil hr streams and 1.1 bil watched while twitch had 222.9 mil hrs streamed and 5 bil watched which means that if YT had streamed 222 mil hrs they would have 30.5 bil hrs watched based on my napkin math, twitch is only still ahead because so many people streams for hrs on there while most YT streams end after a few hrs

Biggest day for Mogul Mail in history
6:03 completely missed that LOL
I feel like Bally Sports was the precedent for this in the States - where the Sports Betting company just owns the platform as a loss-leading ad for its main gambling business. I had wondered if Stake would see sufficient value in developing an equivalent for its gambling products.

meh competition is good but if the whole userbase is losing their money gambling online i'm not sure if it'll be profitable to stream on

6:02 chat had me dead
knew there had to be a catch with that 0-5% cut of bits/subs, no way that could've been sustainable lol. thanks for the correction
Idk how lud looked at that and didn't think anything was up the first video. You don't need to know that the website is owned by a gambling site to smell something fishy
@@magica3526 yeah there's no shot a streaming service can survive on that low of a cut, especially not with rules as lax as theirs (presumably not very appealing to advertisers). i figured it was just train dumping his sponsorship money into it but it being owned directly by stake makes a lot of sense
5:58 i actually started laughing and almost pissed off my dad lmfaoooooooooo
I think it will be incredibly expensive to run a streaming website (that offers high res, high frame rate streaming) without the umbrella of having a parent company that provides web services or has data centers located around the world. Amazon, Google, Facebook and Microsoft all are able/were able to give their streaming division huge computation discounts.

6:02 was my favorite part of this video 😁
Tabbing this because I JUST seen you have an account on kick 😂😂😂
Honestly a smart idea on Trains end. The site makes less and rewards the creator more making it a more attractive site for creators. Essentially his goal in mind from what I’m getting is to make up the revenue lost in volume (people on the website)
Did Lud not notice the "very detailed" text art in chat at 6:01 or am I seeing something.... 😭

6:00 very nice bird 😍
I was open to the idea of the Kick website, but with how the Stake information came out and wasn't put up front wasn't very appealing to me. I'm going to wait on it now to see how it plays out, but since my content revolves around Pokémon and Nintendo, I'm not sure if I can build an audience there since the people who may be drawn in are probably primarily gambling users.
5:58 lol
this is why I love Ludwig - while other streamers would cash grab and take the money he took down and apologised : bravo❤🤝

5:40 commented this on the last video too but how else would you do a website for a live streaming website? Most popular streams right at the top. Makes sense. Promote the highest current people. I think although it's a stake owned website and it was kinda sketchy, if they go down it well and advertise it well then it'll be good as a gateway platform, HOWEVER I do also think if they only advertise to gambling streamers then it won't be as profitable for them
If they try to be open and accept pretty much everyone then hopefully they run it like the platform should be and not as a means to allow gambling streams
I'll see where it goes but I can't lie, I am absolutley interested (not in gambling) in starting on there. If it does it all well I'll defo go over and hope that it isn't dead by the end of next year tbh
