This reminds me of the training cycle with alex lee’s coach shahin nasarinia where he would make us to 3 AMRAP sets at like 75% and the goal was to get 21 reps. We did that for like a month and a half and once you finally hit 21 reps at that weight you had to add 5 kilos and come back each session until you got that weight. I added 8 kilos to my snatch in that month and a half. Amrap is no joke

I gave this workout a try today and got 7, 6, 5, 5, 4 on bench at 205 lbs and 12, 10, 9, 8, 8 on pull ups. It was a fun challenge and something different for me
Sometimes people think I’m being a bully, but this is my favorite type of banter during a workout. I only pick on people to the point of pushing them to what they should be able to do. Getting outside of your comfort zone is the best way to reach new limits. Might as well have fun in the process. Love the lift companion vids. Keep ‘em coming 👍.
Good way to scale this: Instead of body weight, use 90% your 1rm. For pull-ups, use either lat pulldown (if your bodyweight is too high) or weight belt (if your bw is too low), don't kip, and go chest to bar.
Options: 1) Each minute penalizes 1 rep from your score to discourage taking too much time. 2) The round with lowest rep for a movement is used to find your score for that movement so lowest rep x 5 to encourage even effort

We do this but rest is way different. You finish bench, go immediately into the pull ups with no break. You must start the next round at 3 min.

In my case I have a 60 snatch and a 73 clean and jerk, so the total is 60+73=133
And 60kg is actually 132,3lbs

An easy comparison is looking at elite kettlebell sport athletes in the west versus pro crossfitters. They train for the same athletic qualities, their events are similar, they use the same energy systems, even train many of the same exercises. Logically, they should look similar, but the KB athletes are dramatically smaller. Because girevoy has no money in it (in the West), so less incentive for PED use.
Wouldn't a row be the benchpress of the back? The pull-up is the handstand press of the back isn't it?

By this theory of, you snatch what you bench ... Mark Henry probably needs about another ton added to his total ;).
Total poundage moved: Zack: 20,335 / Dylan 17,850 / Chris 22,200...factor in lever lengths / range of motion - some would say Zack had to do the most work (force x distance)
Rippletoe best deadlift 287.5 kg
His best snatch was 82.5 kg.
Bit less than half his deadlift.
I know he was not the best at working despite coaching it, but like it's just so fucking bad.
You could take a high level powerlifter and reason him to snatch more in a month.

I have to say, I'm so concerned about, your bench is your snatch. If that's the case ... My snatch is about 135 lbs, bench 205 ish ... My clean is about 175lbs. So yeah it's a problem. Can't wait till snatch what I bench.
