    If it looks like a high schooler without any workout experience came up with a “sick workout” it’s a bad idea. 7:03 with what you were talking about with the specifics building in strength, any person with enough running experience knows that speed comes from the ass. You need to squat and deadlift and lunge and sprints and weighted carries to get your ass in gear and cut huge swaths of time off your run. I went from 14:10 to 12:30 two mile in 3 months barely running. My rest day nose breathing pre stretch jog is 13:40 now. Before years ago I had to run daily for 2-4 miles a day and push and push and push to get 13:30 average run time. Lift, or lose out.

    I'm 47, I don't do Olympic lifts and only Power Clean about once a month. I watched this video and did the drills as I warmed up today. I wasn't planning on doing anything to extreme. Everything felt so light I ended up hitting a PR. THANK YOU

    At 14:35 you said it is written 420 Kg. Actually it is written 4/20, 4 means 4 muns, 1 mun contains 40 kg. Therefore 4/20 means 4x40=160kg and 20 mens the part of 40 kg in percentage so it is almost 160+9 = 169kg approx

    The problem is, if you go and Ego lift Squats or Bench, you get humbled immediately. With squats the moment you break the knee's you know (if i go any lower i will shit my pants out and never get back up) so you bail. Bench has the same thing and most of the time you have a spotter. The Deadlift is the only one you can grit your teeth and even if your spine is about to break you can grit your teeth through it. Bench and Squats humble you immediately. Deadlifts humble you afterwards.

    This "trainer" is either a horrible trainer in general, or it's possible he does know better, but is just afraid to push these guys or correct them because they're successful musicians and he wants them as clients. Which, to be fair, would also make him a bad trainer. He's letting these guys use horrible form and also hurting their potty progress by doing things like not having them do slow and controlled eccentrics. Also, Oliver says he trains every day. That along with poor form could be problematic in the future for him, depending on his daily volume and how hard he's pushing it. It's always unfortunate to see supposed "trainers" doing clients such a huge disservice.

    Americans have complicated the hell out of strength training. Squats, deadlifts, bench, and overhead press. These are about the only lifts the men in my country do and we are all extremely strong. Most American males are weak little men!

    I thoroughly enjoyed this video and felt very close to it. I started “Olympic lifting” in 1963 and was a major part of my life for 20 years. As an athlete, being on the Penn State team that won the 1973 National Collegiate title, holding the State of Florida snatch record in 1975 and as an administrator, President of the Florida Weightlifting Federation in the 80s. It’s a great sport and hope it grows in popularity.

    I think a lot of people who are against “the deadlift” are not fully fleshing out what they mean… Most of the time when someone says that, what they’re REALLY saying is they’re against “the straight barbell conventional deadlift.” I know one of the S&C coaches for Ohio state university football and they absolutely do what Zach says here (tire flips and what not), but they will still tell you they think theCONVENTIONAL deadlift is dangerous. However, what they will also say is that they think hex bar dead lifts are great! I agree, a deadlift is not inherently dangerous and I’ve deadlifted for years. But these people still are referring strictly to a conventional deadlift. I’m sure they’d feel differently about a hex bar deadlift just because a lot of people just are being clear enough that they’re specifically against conventional deadlifts.
