A Fans view of Slip Away Paris 2002, slip away is a wistful, nostalgic look back from aging Bowie to happy memories of himself and iggy pop & John Lennon living in new York and watching the uncle Floyd children's tv show. Bowie typically wholly embraces childhood themes, whilst simultaneously obsessing about childhood and death. in tone the song is passionate and mournful, a heartfelt expression of tenderness to old or lost friends "how I wonder where you are" and for happy days gone by. bowie shows beautiful tenderness and concern for a distressed friend "whats the matter with you". the following phrase "come on, lets go and slip away" This may be a drug reference, in the sense of, "don't be sad, lets get stoned and have a laugh". beautiful song. even better live, check it out. incredibly passionate performance on this live version. gorgeous. I just love when he at 3:20, "What's the matter with you, come on lets go, slip away" So much emotion and even to anger. I need you to tell me please if you see it as I do. Thanks in advance for your reply back. Dusty the 2nd. 7/05/20 and still mourning this man.

Piękna piosenka, Dawid pięknie ją śpiewa, ludzie jak nie słuchać Dawida.
Bowie. He got "it" RIP the best.
Bowie is just so awesome. It's amazing how much talent he has and the number of songs that are either great hits or just excellent.
this song was actually written about the uncle floyd show. it was broadcasted here out of jersey where i live. Bowie was a guest on the show at one point and became friends with uncle Floyd. he also really enjoyed watching the show. i grew up on it myself. RIP David..your music will always have a place in my heart. :)
+PersephoneRising81 I don't think Bowie was ever on the show. He was just a fan of the show, attended some of Floyd's live performances and kept in touch with him.
The devastation will never end. I had the absolute honour of meeting this genius on many occasions and I remember him promising me that he would play Low tracks at the Sydney concert. Love on ya Diamond Dave.
Love this music. (This album too) ;-)
Que pena este homem não estar mais entre nós para cantar suas belas canções. Espero que nos céus, ele esteja cantando com os anjos.
