    Remove negative first, positive last,.. install positive first, negative last.

      My first thought. Negative first - wtf🤣

  • @4x4dually

    No one in their right mind installs the negative first. ALWAYS install positive first and negative late. And always take the negative off first as well.

    • @chadcav614
      @chadcav614 Před 2 lety

      Why?

    • @4x4dually
      @4x4dually Před 2 lety +3

      @@chadcav614 To avoid shorting the positive terminal to ground. If your wrench bumps something metal while taking the negative terminal off first, it won't hurt anything. Then moving to the positive terminal, your wrench can bump metal and it won't short and spark since the negative is removed. If you take the positive off first, or put in on last, and your wrench bumps metal, you will get a sparks. Not a huge deal out in the open, but just some advice when working down inside a vehicle where it is tight.

    Let me be that guy and address some concerns with your product. The logic to relocate is there. I own two and can agree it’s a pain in the a$$ to service the batteries. However, your product seems flawed and may cause issues for all your customers.
    You guys have added an open point for corrosion to build and interfere with the voltage. The terminal block next to the overflow tank will eventually be a high point of voltage drop, affecting the life of the battery, starter, regulator/rectifier, and eventually the stator. You should have gone the extra mile and sold the one piece ground and power cable from the front terminal block to the rear battery compartment. Just my .02 cents.

    Always install the positive first when installing a battery. Because if you accidently touch the wrench to the frame while connecting the positive cable there will not be a connection to the negative side of the battery. Just reverse this when you disconnect the cables from the battery.

    Just installed the battery re-locator kit. Everything went great with more than enough cable. Only issue was the space for the battery was a little tight with my OEM battery. The welds on the overflow area made it so the battery won't sit on the bottom of the tray. Other than that, good product.

    Great video and product, here is a question that you guys might be able to help with, I am currently building a trailer that my 570 will tow on a 3 week camp, I'm wondering if my 570 battery system will be ok to charge a second battery that I can use for accesorys like camp lights and stuff, do you guys sell anything like this ?????

    I don't understand why you would use a terminal block! I would have used a heavier gage cable and ran them without adding connection points that lower your power from the battery. Eliminate the thinner, stock cables if you need more length

    I have a 570. Iv had issues with not starting. They have undersized batteries i gather the dears says. Replaced mine twice with oversized bat. Har to cut the mount to get it in. Will your mount work for an over sized battery. Great idea on your part. POLARIS ENGINERING SUCKS!!

    I had a branch make a slice in my battery in the factory location, after relocating it, it is now covered by the factory metal plate on the only side exposed. will save a head ache down the road I'm sure.

  • @chadcovey1626

    If I bought the kit with the battery to add more juice 'cause of the shitty lo warning most people experience with their 2015 570, and to hopefully resolve that issue throughout the winter, I should be able to just run the cables to the other battery right?

  • @rainmant5724
    @rainmant5724 Před 2 lety +1

    This is nice. However, they need to--Supply stainless fasteners, make the battery cables long enough to go straight to the junction block (instead of installing another one), add some wire protection (corrugated stuff), and have the terminals for 90 degrees for the battery. And like the others...Negative comes off first, then positive..Install positive first and then negative. This is to prevent a possible short if you are wrenching on the positive and hit the frame with a tool.

  • @flslingmaker8612

    PThe polaris engineer that put the battery down there should be run off. Major PIA to replace the battery, it is not as easy as the make it look, plus changes in the frame cross members make impossible to get two hands in there. Engineers should be made to perform simple maintenance like this, then they will understand what a stupid design they came up with. Battery replacement should take no longer than 15 minutes. And another thing why put a cheap battery that need its water checked in order to maintain it, there no way people are going to go through this BS just to check the water routinely. The motto at Polaris must be "save a buck and aggravate the consumer." Just changed mine out to an AGM battery and the next atv I buy will be maintenance friendly, so I'm guessing it won't be a polaris

  • @ini922
    @ini922 Před 4 lety +1

    Now imagine the battery was exactly where they have just relocated it to from the factors, and now imagine the same kit to relocate it to where it comes from the factory. lol the unlimited amount of bullshit thrown and us to make us to believe that relocating the battery will somehow make it a better bike all the while putting it in harms way where a rock or debris would smash it to bits lol
