Spain’s Most UNDERRATED City - Granada, Spain 4k 🇪🇸 (Granada Spain Vlog)

- In today’s video, I take you with me as I explore Granada, Spain, a charming city in Spain’s southern Andalusia region. In this Granada Spain Vlog, I will show you all of the best things to do in Granada, from visiting the Granada Alhambra, to walking through the picturesque neighborhoods, and taking you to the best markets. I loved exploring Granada, Spain, so I hope you enjoy my Granada, Spain tour!
To start off my day in Granada, Spain I took a walk along Calle Del Darro, which is a charming cobblestone street running along the river that opens up into one of the best plazas in Granada, Plaza Nueva. Despite being called the “New Plaza”, Plaza Nueva is actually home to some of the oldest buildings in the city. After enjoying a quick breakfast and people watching in the plaza, I climb the hill to Granada, Spain’s most famous attraction, the Granada Alhambra. Visiting the Alhambra is an absolute must in Granada! The Granada Alhambra was once the fortress of the Nasrid Dynasty, which was the last Islamic Kingdom in Western Europe. The Alhambra in Granada, Spain is absolutely massive, with so much to explore. Inside the Granada Alhambra, you can see where the Nasrid Kings use to live and relax, as well as incredible views of the city of Granada. The three main sections of the Granada Alhambra are the Nasrid Palaces, the Alcazaba, and the Generalife Gardens.
After exploring the incredible Alhambra, I walked over to the Albaicin neighborhood, which is an old Moorish area with narrow cobblestone streets and beautiful white homes. In the Albaicin neighborhood, make sure to check out the Mirador de San Nicolas for incredible views of the Granada Alhambra. Next in my Granada Spain Vlog, I walked over to the Sacromonte Neighborhood, which is most known for its cave homes. Many years ago, residents of the Sacromonte Neighborhood in Granada Spain use to live in caves. However, nowadays, the residents live in more modern homes, but it’s still a great place to explore an old cave to see how the Sacromonte residents use to live.
Next up on my Granada Spain tour, I head to the Alcaiceria Market, which is a Moroccan style market, with so much to explore. The Alcaiceria market in Granada is a great place to learn about Moroccan culture and buy some cool souvenirs. To end my time in Granada Spain I roamed around Plaza de Bib-Rambla and watched the sunset on a rooftop terrace over the city of Granada.
I hope you enjoyed my Granada Spain Vlog! Granada is such a charming city, and is definitely worth a visit if you are in southern Spain!

Granada is not underrated, Granada is famous in the world. Is a best monumental city of Spain
Pues claro.. .está está loca
That market looked like it could have been in Morocco! Can't wait for more Spain content!!!
It was a fun market, and much more to come!
But tidy and clean, instead of the markets in Marroco.
@@ignacioheredia9599clearly you haven’t been around all of Morocco
@@silentmoon123 If you're excited about making the obvious invisible in order to emphasize exoticism, I'm not going to be the one to stop you from doing what you have before your eyes.
@@ignacioheredia9599 what are you talking about. I’m not making nothing invisible, there are beautiful clean markets as well as messy ones in Morocco same goes for in Spain and other countries around the world. Stop being ignorant to anything other than your opinion.
Al Hambra was stunning and I loved Granada. Going from Torremolinos (where I staying for my hols) to Granada, the landscape looked very similar to Morocco (obviously being close by)
I agree, it is absolutely stunning, I'm glad you liked it too!

Underrated!!!!!!
Granada is the most turistic city in Spain. In the most turistic country in the world !!!!
Verdad .... Esta mujer no sabe lo que dice
You would be surprised, many tourists just go to Spain's coasts and never go in land. Many people in Ireland would never have heard or been to Granada, but they know Torremolinos and Benidorm
Beatiful vídeo
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

@@MattKramerTravels Granada is now on the list!
OMG, this video brings back such great memories. When you were in Plaza Nueva, there is a narrow street opposite it that leads up to the back gate of the Alhambra. We stayed at pension Alfin on that street, just 50 feet from the back gate. It made for a beautiful hike up to the main entrance through gorgeous gardens. The Alhambra was breathtaking. Also, at the foot of that narrow street across from the plaze is a café called La Gran Taberna, which luckily for us, served food at a late hour. The Albaicín neighborhood was one of our favorites. The small square where you show the gentleman dancing is right next to one of our favorite restaurants, Estrellas de San Nicolás. We had dinner there on the second floor and watched the Alhambra light up as our dinner progressed. The Sacromonte neighborhood was also one of our favorites with another of our eating spots, Café Gabriel. We also hiked the Sierra Nevada mountains right above the city. This was the second city we visited after Madrid. It was tempting not make our move from the U.S. to Granada, but after seeing Sevilla, we decided that was the place instead. Only three more years.
It sounds like you had an absolutely incredible time in Granada, Peter! I'm glad you enjoyed the city as much as I did!
Hi, I’m traveling to Granada for 4 days and Seville for 3 days in July. I would greatly appreciate any restaurant tips or travel advice

I definitely would not call Granada underrated. The palace is a world renown heritage site, and the city is one of the major tourist cities of Spain.
tell me an underrated city in spain i want to explore more and not only the touristy ones!

Nicely done Matt! Just out of curiosity, what is the name of that rooftop cafe from where you got that view?
Loved the video, thank you for this. I'm excited to go back to Granada. I hope I have more time to check out more places this time - loved your recommendations. Do you recall the name of the terrace?
Granada is super beautiful! Unfortunately I don't recall the exact place of the terrace, but luckily there are tons of beautiful views in the city!

Thank you for the great guide! I’m spending 4 days in Granada in July and would love to know the location of the rooftop terrace at the end of the video
Unfortunately I just stumbled upon this spot so I can't recall exactly where it is, but there are a handful of rooftop spots in Granada! Enjoy your trip!

Nice video thanks for sharing. I’m planning a trip to Granada, how many days do I need to see all these places?
If you are short on time, 2 days could be enough, but a 3rd day could be nice to go at a slower pace. Enjoy your trip!

How many days do you suggest to spend in Granada? Thank you for your video, very informative
I'm glad it was helpful Rita! Perhaps 2 fulls days if you are tight on time, otherwise an extra day could be nice to take it slow and get lost in the streets. Enjoy!
Did you visit in November? I'm planning a trip in November, and I'm trying to decipher the weather!
I was there in October and the weather was great. Enjoy your trip!

Matt, can I go from Malaga to Granada stay the day and then return to Malaga? Can I see most of what you saw in one day?
Hi where was the rooftop in the video located? Please let me know, thanks!
Which month was this? Looks perfect weather.
I was there in October!
Granada is not underrated considering the Alhambra is the most visited monument in all of Spain...
Beautiful country, Spain!

would you suggest driving to Grenada and having a rental car or taking train? Didi you walk between different sections of town?

Hello my friend l"m from Brazilian ✌

@@MattKramerTravels Thank you brother 😎✌✌👊🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸
Hi, where is the last place of the video? (One with the terrace view)
I can't remember the exact place unfortunately but it was close to Plaza Nueva!
Matt! I need your help. I am deciding between studying abroad in Cadiz or Granada. Valencia is a choice but it’s another region. I like walking distances and close bus destinations. I also like warm weather with beaches and I like to eat and shop for clothes! Nonetheless, I want to meet people my age and travel. What looked more like a youthful city? Please answer if you can, I would appreciate it dearly.
Hi Vanessa, I think both are really nice options so you can't go wrong! Both Cadiz and Granada are not overly large cities so both are relatively walk/bus accessible. Cadiz is a little more laid back with fewer tourists and nice beaches but I think Granada likely has a larger student population, so it depends on what you prioritize. Both are great, enjoy your time abroad!
@@MattKramerTravels Valencia is great. Granada too. Cadiz not so cool in my opinion.
How many days did you stay in granada. Is it easy to get around to see places.
I stayed for 2 full days. Granada is a good city to get around on foot but there are also buses and trains connecting a lot of places in and around the city!
@@MattKramerTravels Thanks. How many days woukd you recommend in granada.
@@tarny11 I think 2 is good to see everything in the city. If you want to be more relaxed or take a day trip, maybe add a third. Enjoy!
@@MattKramerTravels OK thanks I was thinking about 6 nights. What day trips can you do.
@@tarny11 There is a train station in Granada so the connection is really good with lots of options. You can get to Cordoba, Malaga, Seville, other beaches and mountains too!
Quiero ir want to go o my god unique
It really is a beautiful place, I hope you get the chance to go Leonardo!
It is full of tourists even in february, I am not sure if the city can handle more
@@tariktachefin1888 Yo he estado muchas veces en Marruecos (y Argelia, Túnez, Líbano, Jordania, etc). Los marroquíes NO estuvieron 8 siglos. Que hubiera omeyas y bereberes no significa que hubiera marroquíes.
Amazing place the most beautiful girl in Granada lives there I wish know her name I wish live there
Granada is absolutely beautiful, isn't it! Cheers Carlos!
I totally agree Granada seems a very or the most beautiful place in earth to live im from Walla Walla Washington USA and I can tell you Granada beats in every angle the place were I live
If you live there then you are in heaven and again the gal I saw in a funny video from bush man she is absurdly an Angel I wish I had more ppl like that in life Believe me
I spent 5 weeks recently in Andalusia, Spain...and Granada was my favorite. Cadiz the only city in I visited in Spain with drunks, homeless bums and trash everywhere.
Granada is like a little piece of Morocco
There are a lot of similarities!
How can the city that is home to the most visited national monument in the country be underrated? Washington Irving wrote 'Tales from the Alhambra' there, even Bill Clinton was there.
Nice video...kill the music.
NIce clip, however American music is out of context...
Underrated? lol. It's just like one of the top 5 cities to visit in Spain!
La gente de sacremonte todavia vive en las cuevas. Aun la cueva que tu entraste es una casa...no un museo.
Gracias por compartir esto Tommy!
Kerala,Bengal, Gujarat have Chinese advisar , little bit Punjab, know everyone ,how taste public products..
The caves that people"used to live in"? Thousands of people live in caves here in Granada. Several of my own friends live in caves.
Thanks for sharing Zak!
Do you speak Spanish?
I speak conversationally but not fluent. It’s one of my goals!
@@MattKramerTravels same, I'm using doulingo but it's so hard 😫
@@jmeib It's never easy to learn a new language but i think its always worth it!
underrated for whom? Granada is probably the most beautiful city in Spain and the alhambra is the most visited monument in the country lol
Alhambra means : Reed ....Marrakech in Morocco 🇲🇦 is similar & Moroccans built Andalousia by the way
Will never admit it & shame on them 👎
It's the opposite. Al Andalus and the Banu Ummaya teach to bérbers how to built.
underrated??? Excuse me but more than 2.5 million tourists visit Granada every year. its one of the most popular and talked about cities when people think of Andalucia.. so you may want to change your title description because clearly teh fact is not correct.
Not marocco, the heritage called nazari tradition, to variant andalusí culture arabic.
lol it literally looks like a piece of fes or marrakech, dont be mad spanish boy that moroccans ruled you for 800 years lol
Underrated????? Usted no sabe lo que dice . ?Acaso usted no sabe que la al - hambrá es el monumento más visitado de España
Chill
Nice video - very annoying music - thank you nevertheless :)
Too much talking and couldn’t see the view because of the head.
Music is just really annoying
Moroccans built Andalousia ...
Morocco did not exist, to start with. Now moroccans are destroying it.
Yes ,of course
dancing on stolen land , how sad ....my people built those lands , rest well my Moor Brethren
Never forget this city belonged to the Muslims.
Codes, partning area , deffected distribution have Spain criminal
underrated? Really? Hahaha
Soft s in the word Muslim
ugh that music sucks, ruin the flamenco
