Today's conversation is all about our emotions and my guest is Professor Marc Brackett, the founding director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. He's published over 100 research articles over the course of his career, and has dedicated his life to studying and teaching emotional literacy. Our emotions affect our creativity, learning and problem solving, but also our physical health and our mental health. Yet so many of us struggle to express and regulate our emotions.

Rangan, you seem so genuine and kind. I feel like you are truly my friend from watching all these videos. Keep being you! So happy I found your channel
This is great. There is now (here in the South, US) little stillness, reflection time & "being," out on a sagging porch after doing supper dishes, in a twilight active with insect & toad songs & good tree & lilac smells...to feel a darn thing but exhausted. Everyone indoors staring at a screen, refrigerated in the AC, windows shut & exterior surroundings a silent, floodlit, flatland chemical lawn, no wildlife or insect habitat. Deadness everywhere. After a half century, i recall an entirely different world deeper, full, & vertical with unspoken & unnameable feelings, memories & presences. But nothing was ever perfect in the material & interpersonal world, & we humans ran after material & mechanical comforts as a way to "feel" good, & now it's hard for all humans to recall how to be, how to love beauty, the soul, & other species, & how to feel.
Mm
As always really insightful and interesting! Thanks for sharing
Thank you 👍🏾
Rangan, I have been really enjoying your podcast/CZcams videos. The one with Carol and David was my favorite! The quality of guests and conversations is awesome. I can feel the connection between you and the guest. The way you interview and engage with the guest is great to experience. I don’t normally comment, but I felt that I wanted to share that I can see your passion and commitment to your mission, and it is very much appreciated! Keep doing you!
Thank you so much Hilda - I really appreciate your feedback 👍🏾
Iam so grateful for Dr. Rangan. I feel his podcasts are so informative and educational with a message that everyone can follow and get intrested. Thank you so much being the light ❤ You have helped educate me and add value to my life. Grateful 😃
Such an important topic. As a reflexologist I think its the only time my clients really are comfortable to say how they really feel and where that lands in their bodies too. So important!
This was The best podcast I’ve ever listened to. Thank you! 🙏🏼
I’ve recommended Bracketts book for translation to my Dutch publisher. She’s going to read it.
Thanks so much for another insightful podcast. I have loaded the Mood Meter App recommended. I think it's going to be very helpful for me to catch my emotions as they come 👏👏👏
Great interview, learned a lot, you're such a genuine, nice host
Wow what an amazing talk! So much intelligence, wisdom, compassion and insight packed into this 1,5 hour. 👌🏻👏🏼
I loved it! So awsome, easy to understand. Thank you both
Very helpful and practical.
Informative video 😊
Dan Siegels books would really interesting for you re your daughter - no drama discipline - and it isn't discipline its exactly what you are discussing here and he is so on your level.
Beautiful ! Smart and helpful! I think I have to listen to it one more time!😍😍😍
Therapist told me I might be a little addicted to that. Accustomed to chaos while I reinventing the wheel each new day. Gut health, long walks and cbd were a good start to being more healthy.
😢😂.happiness is highlighted by for myself 😅
Is 0:32 the beginning or this is an extract? I couldn't find the introduction. Lost.
Who is the person Dr. Rangan is interviewing??
Really boring guest, bland topics.
