Today, let's talk about IEW Grammar and how it brought fun, easy and quick lessons to our homeschool. It gave my sons what they needed in grammar and set them up to dig a little deeper into grammar. It was quick and I love that it takes less time. I can see why he does this because the writing does take a little longer to complete.

Hi. Yep, I agree about the gems at the back of the book, lol. That's one thing I love about both FLL and Fix It Grammar.

So...I am borrowing your idea for doing a weeks worth of grammar in 1 day this summer. My kids loved Fix it and IEW after we made changes. I wished IEW offered PDFs for the student text because I have 3 using the same level. Any suggestions on how to make it budget friendly, Frances ...lol?!!
They should give you digital when you purchase. I canât stand having to buy multiple copies.
Do you find that this grammar needs to done/started before doing the IEW writing program?
Also, I watched your video on the well trained mind grammar. We do the first language lessons. Do you think their grammar would be best to stick with since we use their LA?
I would stick with it, but wouldnât start until 5th grade. We will be doing one book for two years because it is a lot of information. IEW grammar has all the info there to do alone. I didnât have a problem doing it alone and now we are doing the writing separate.

Maybe I missed it, but why did you switch from Grammar for the Well Trained Mind to Fix It Grammar? Do you prefer FIG now that youve used both? If your children had not done First Language Lessons, would Fix It be enough to teach them at the level Grammar for the Well Trained Mind would have?
No still using, we happened to use both at the time.

Yes
We presently use GWTM . I prefer it for my older kids. Fix it grammar goes along with the writing but it can be done alone.
