In 1968 I had the pleasure of doing 2 shows with Webb, I opened for him in New Jersey. He was such a gentleman. I asked him if he could sing "The Last Waltz" that he recorded in the early 1950's.He said he didn't recall the song and he said "why don't you sing it"?. So I did! Afterwards he told be he'd forgotten the song! I will never forget that night when I had to sing a Webb Pierce song that he had forgotten on a show with him! Actually we did two that Saturday so many years ago...one at 3:30pm and another at 7:30pm! So I can truly say I did two shows with him!
@@2packs4sure I should have added that he had also written "The Last Waltz". These guys wrote and recorded so much material back then that I can see them forgetting what they recorded especially since I was asking him to sing a song that he had recorded 18 years earlier and even though it was and still is my all-time favorite song by Webb, it was not one of his hits, just the "B" side of another "78" record that was not hit either!
Glad you enjoyed it ! Lol,, I always wondered why Webb said BABY they way he did in that recording.. There's had to be a story there but everyone's dead.
@@2packs4sure yes I know sad I loved to hear Webb sing started way back when I was thirteen yrs old still listen to my records today soon to be eighty- one still love him today
One of the greatest county singers of the 50's and 60's and he wasn't voted into the Country Music Hall of Fame until he had passed away. Almost did with Carl Smith. Enjoyed your presention
I wouldn't be surprised, the word is that ol' Webb was a fun guy. The great Ray Stevens bought a house next to Webb's. Webb had a very famous guitar shaped swimming pool. It drew lots of attention on the fan tours. So much in fact, that Ray Stevens complained about all the traffic. The media got a hold of the story. When they interviewed Webb, He said "That's what he gets for movin' in next to a singin' star. @@2packs4sure
Well,,, I came up with the title first ,,,,,,, The Webb Pierce Super Country Music Spectacular Good Time Parade of Excellence Hour,,,,,,,, then figured I better put it together so I did. Glad you enjoyed it !
Thank you for keeping the legacy of this unique country music legend going. Love watching your videos & seeing the candid shots. Not complaining, as I'm thankful for what I get to see, but wish it wasn't the same photos repeating. Again, thank you.
Happy to hear you're enjoying the Webb stuff. Yea, i lost a lot of Webb photos a while back but even when I had more I didn't have enough to mix it up for a full 90 minutes.
This was absolutely beautifully done thank you so so much I really did enjoy this I will be paying this again and again he seemed to be a outstanding businessman
Well,,, I appreciate that but the pictures were done properly before the program crashed so I just threw pictures in randomly the second time and let her rip.............
This is my great great great uncle Webb. I never got to meet him but my mom spent most her time as a teen with him singing around the campfires I wish I was able to know him but i didn’t get that.
Sure don't, she got some special treatment with that card so I'm thinking, fan club VIP, Cedarwood Publishing or personal employee. Something like that.

You'd have to give me a time in the video so I can look at it..
Webb pierce Faron young Little jimmie dickens Carl smith and Ray price are all the people in the photo at 11.04.10 mark
John,
Any idea who "Evelyn" who was pictured on the Christmas card with Webb was/is?
Sure don't, she got some special treatment with that card so I'm thinking, fan club VIP, Cedarwood Publishing or personal employee.
Something like that.
Not sure but I believe Evelyn was Webb's Secretary at Cedarwood
Love his music but he has to be the epitome of bad taste, from his car, suites swimming pool etc. So full of himself it was unreal.
True, but as bad taste goes his was awesome.
