I did this video for me. This is the first album I remember hearing when I was around 6 or 7 years old in the late 60's.. My dad would play it once in a while and I loved it,, I still love it so on May 4th 2024 I recorded it to CD with my Kenwood KD-550 turntable through my McIntosh C-26 preamp into my fussy 20 year old Phillips CD recorder. It's had a rough life but sounds "ok"... Webb cut the last track,, Too Long,, twice,, this one on March 4 1965 and again on June 12 1967. The second one is better. When I was a kid in the late 60's this album was among the very few that my parents had. I made a copy from a beat up reel to reel tape on a beat up reel to reel deck in the early 2000's so I'd at least have a decent copy and the file presented itself to me by accident from the bowels of my PC the other day so here it is warts and all. It's got some rough spots. Tracklist: Medley A1a California...

Suddenly my 6 year old post of this is a mile out of sync for some reason. This is the best version PERIOD of this song, much better than the studio version,,, it's very Faron to outshine his recording live onstage,,, which says ALOT !! Faron had all his skills that night in 1988, the band is tight and kickin' and everybody is generally firing on all cylinders. The fiddle players are Faron's lo...

Some good raw stuff from the late great and greatly missed Tommy Honkytonky's CZcams channel on Webb's birthday.. P.S. Well here it was again; had to listen! I hope you’re doing well! Because I’m now 1000 yrs old ; I can’t recall if I told you I finally got a card in the mail, then a phone call stating I had an appointment with an orthopedic doctor for my fractured elbow on July 6 … the appointment was for December! I told them my elbow was as healed as it was going to be since it happened in July! That aside; I really just love this song! I hope all is well with you ,
Hey Ruth !! I'm good and I didn't think you were that much older than me,,, I'm only 206.... :)

It’s actually California breaking the law, the constitution to be exact.
Good song, one of my faves. How about "Wondering" with Webb & Willie singing from their album? I think the Country folk out there will love it!
The Willie Nelson CZcams channel has it. I wish I could enjoy that album and I bought it when it came out but for me at least Webb after 1971 and especially after 1976 isn't for me.
@@2packs4sure I hear ya, John. I still may have the album somewhere, I think. I prefer Webb in his early years. I have a cassette with some good stuff on it from early on, the kind of Webb style I really like. Thanks for your post. 👍
@@janiceastets5425 I'm actually a little jealous of people and there are plenty of them who love Webb's mid-seventies stuff on Plantation,,, those remakes which I can't tolerate at all,,,, they like the later Webb,, but for me it's a no go.. I like to imagine what the Willie and Webb album would have been if Webb would have been in his mid 60's form,,, that would have been an amazing album!!
@@2packs4sure Yes, so true! But I have to say he doesn't sound too bad on "Wondering" with Willie. I remember that I really didn't play the other songs too much, though. I'm a die-hard old-time country music buff & I'm a stickler for the "original songs" most of the time. This week I found some good stuff from Hank Snow on you-tube, so I played his music for a while. I love his stuff & listening to that Martin guitar he plays. You don't hear that kind of good country today, unfortunately. 😕
@@janiceastets5425 Well I agree,, Webb doesn't sound too bad throughout the album,, he just doesn't sound that good,, although I really liked Heebie Jeebie Blues, that was fun.. And I really like Hank Snow in his prime, I have Breakfast with the Blues on my jukebox...
Wonderful, Webb just made my day great 😂
Finest kind ever. Lovin' that ol' Troubadour 💓
Great
He left behind amazing voice for his fans , he was one of a kind
Was just scrolling through looking for an album to listen to while I walk and this pops up! I have been wondering where you are! 😊
Webb was a genius at picking songs that touched the lives of people
I heard an interview with Faron Young in the 80's and he said the same thing..
Stupid noisy obnoxious and none of it funny
Added to the list of songs that should have been in Fallout New Vegas
I forgot all about this one,, I need to up the volume and re post it..
This is how Democrats used to be in my hometown. Surely miss having this guy in my neighborhood.
The silence tells me HE is gone! This song appeared after listening to another song; couldn’t pass it by! ❤❤❤
This is great. Thanks for posting this.
I have no memory of hearing this song until now! I’m just getting old! I most certainly enjoyed hearing it! I love Ernest Tubb’s voice ! Thank you for having it here; right below the song I just listened to! I hope you’re doing well John or whoever you are! 😉🎶🎶🎶❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶
Lol,, well,, stranger to me,,,,,,,,,,,,, I do that all the damn time now that I'm in my 60's,, thinking I've NEVER heard or seen something but I probably have so,,, I quit saying "I've never".............. Now I say now what you said,,, "I have no memory of hearing that"... That covers it.. I wanna say Ruth but it's rude to take guesses !! :)
@@2packs4sure Forgetting is a sure sign of being old, and so are other signs! I have a friend, musician who could never remember my name; one of my friends told him just call her Dr. Ruth… he’s never forgotten and introduces me to everyone as Dr. Ruth! Oh, I surely get asked a lot of questions, to which I reply, “ I don’t know, I can’t remember.”😁 I have to get up early to drive to the VA clinic and be there at 7:45 in the morning! It’s about a 40-45 minute drive. Have a good evening, stay safe and carry ID in case you forget who you are! 😁

Red Sovine was my great grandma's brother. Grew up to these songs and hearing stories of this incredible man. Sad, heart disease runs in our family.

Can't blame him for carrying, but if it were you or me, we'd be looking a couple years in Folsom. Also, you know damned well he was drunk as hell! Probably had a martini in his hand when he was pulled over.

@@Grahamgusbull Hey,, do you listen on your phone like so many or on your PC with decent speakers ? How do you watch CZcams videos?
@@2packs4sure I’ve always been been obsessed with good loud sound John and all my devices are either linked up or interchangeable. I was in the garden when you posted and I listened via my iPhone Bluetoothed into my Bose Sound Link Mini Speaker, which has great bass and plenty of oomph! I’m now watching a Porter Wagoner Show on CZcams with picture on my 43” flat and sound through my powerful Sony amp and very large speakers. This is in the conservatory and I’ve got a good setup in the living room as well.
@@Grahamgusbull Okay that's good to hear I thought as much because you've mentioned sound quality quite often,,, we're two of a kind in that respect.. This one is definitely not one of my best,, the Webb Country Music Time jukebox 33 is in kind of rough condition but it was something different... The plan was to build the jukebox EP concept with tracks from the real Country Music Time album but I think it's gone.. I think that was one of the ones lost in hurricane Harvey... I can't find it anyway.. So I opened up the jukebox grabbed the little album and lived with it..
