  • This is a Convenient and Perfect Intro Hike for novices and/or Winter trips to Colorado's High Peaks as well as a mellow hike from the Loveland Pass parking area.
    I am still editing 3 more epic 14'er mountain climbing adventures featuring dji drone footage, but I wanted to post this quickly for the visitors I climbed with but, you can expect the Adventure to continue with several more Challenging trips to come. . . .
    I met a Bachelor's Party of guys from, originally, Wisconsin. They were great guys and climbed extremely fast for being from almost sea level a day or two earlier, not to mention they weren't experienced, "Climbers!" Nice Job Brothers! I hope this servers to always remind you of your incredible experience here in Colorado!
    Cheers Karl

      I'm psyched you enjoyed it!!! I was pleased you guys included me as well. If you or your friends are interested I'd document any cool exciting trip you can think of, my channel may give you some ideas??? like that hike in AZ you did, that would be SICK with drone footage. My favorite shot you got was that quick clip of your feet dangling over the abyss. . . well the stingray roaring was cool too! Cheers Man!

      Thanks Man! This is a hike I think you would enjoy but, the last 400' of vert are steep and loose, tracking poles would be key!

    Fantastic production, as always, Karl. Beautiful drone footage and great music. So many nice hiking options on Loveland Pass. BTW, the turn option at the first large cairn toward Grizzly Peak would be heading EAST southeast, not west southwest. Keep up the good work!

      It was a good way to test the waters with my broken wing. . .getting surgery tomorrow to repair a ruptured biceps ligament in my left elbow. I was surprisingly mobile, so much so I climbed an easy class 4 route on Mt. Lindsey and the Iron Nipple! last Tuesday, no problemo. . . It was truly magic for me, many surprises! I think I'll be hiking big mountains again around 2 months after surgery. Jason, if you would like to do a hike with an old guy who is somewhat out of shape I'd like to meet you? I will be cranking on the exercise bike as soon as I can after the operation. . . I'll need a babysitter but, I think I could also share a wealth of mountaineering and rock climbing knowledge with you if your'e interested. . . and document our trip of course. I have always appreciated your support and encouragement.

      @@KarlDeckerPresents I’d love to hit a trail with you. My only concern is I know I’d be a lot slower than you. I know I could learn a wealth of knowledge from you. One of my biggest fears is exposure on hikes which I know you could help me became more comfortable with.

      @@jasonthomas16 between my just completed surgery, went perfectly, and the playing with cameras I think it will work out great. Those guys from Wisconsin were slowly catching up with me while I set up and flew the drone. . . Would you want a class 2 or 3 climb. . . Anything you’ve been looking to get on? In a month or 2.

      @@KarlDeckerPresents congrats on the successful surgery. One hike I’ve wanted to do for a while but have been apprehensive about doing on my own is Mount Audubon to Paiute. I’ve hiked Audubon a few times but never traversed over to a Paiute. Probably an easy day for you hahaha. Let me know the best way to stay in touch in the meantime or if there is another hike you want to do instead.

    Did this hike yesterday (Monday). Beautiful day and i was the only one on the trail. Really enjoyed it. Want to check out some other easier/safe winter hiking 13er. Thinking about doing Atlantic or Fletcher

    • @KarlDeckerPresents
      @KarlDeckerPresents  Před 2 lety

      I totally agree. I would recommend Atlantic by the way we came down in the last video I posted. Drift is also good, I believe that is really the peak you’re referring to, they are close but to get to Fletcher there is a bit of class five climbing. My short term cure was go to Las Vegas, it was actually pretty warm. You’ll see you in a few weeks. Cheers

      @rugged9769 Před 2 lety

      I meant Fletcher from Blue Lake side, but Drift looks doable in winter too from Mayflower TH. Have a good time in Vegas bud

    At 8 minute mark you mention the mountain is Fletcher.. Is there another Fletcher besides the one west of Quandary? I think the one you had pointed at would be Hagar. Regardless, awesome videos, binge watching now. haha Do you every go up into the Never Summers?

    • @KarlDeckerPresents
      @KarlDeckerPresents  Před 3 lety

      You are definitely right about Hagar, oops! Thanks for checking it all out. I hope you're getting some great trip Ideas. Amazing you found a class 3 route onto the citadel, that thing was a beast! I was pretty focused on the standard route but there did not appear to be too many weaknesses! Love chatting routes, please don't be a stranger! I have, Iron Nipple, Columbia Point, Huron Peak and N Apostle & Ice Mountain trips to publish next. . .
      Cheers Brother, great to meet a true fellow climber!

      I think so, the final headwall of grizzly is looser talus but not particularly sharp or steep. Have fun!
