Today while snorkeling in the river for river treasure, we found a variety of valuables underwater, including a lot of sunglasses, a Bluetooth shower speaker, and a plastic baggie filled with a wallet and keys! I was able to find the owner, and get it back to him. He was a super nice guy, and I felt all warm and fuzzy for doing a good thing. You would have never walked away from me without getting the cash from my wallet. That $40 would have been worth all the bs you would have saved me in replacement fees and time. You are a small time hero. Sub earned. Faith in humanity restored.

Most people can't afford to give $40 because someone was generous to return something, i don't think anyone should expect a "reward" for finding someone's stuff
Plus replacing that key would have been $40-$100+ because it probably a chip key.
@@Xighor Refusing is one thing, but offering as an appreciation is the right thing. Technically, the dude was expecting his lost bag a long gone item. Whatever cash was in there was not expected to find its way home. So why not offer the cash that was inside the wallet as the reward. The finder technically doesn't have to return it for say. A good gesture to return deserve a good gesture to offer a reward. Heck, that car key cost way beyond $40 and also all the other ids and stuff.

I really enjoy your videos . And it is nice that you can get the occasional reward of seeing the owners happy face when you can return items . I still say that you need a small tethered mesh bag with a float in it to gather treasure in as you go .
Good idea! Dollar stores sell mesh laundry bags that would be perfect for this; get several and sort recycling as you go. You are wonderful for reuniting these lost objects to the owners, you're a really good man in a world that's lacking in kindness.

Folks laughed at me when I used a diaper pin to pin my baggie to my clothes, looks like I had the last laugh.
We found a really nice wedding ring at a beach near our home. We put up a sign with our phone number, and about a week later we got a call, she described it to us perfectly and came to get it. Nothing feels better.
