A hybrid would be good and has worked great for the switch. It is obviously an upgrade to the VS. Maybe wireless controller, USB C and maybe a new design. If there is 2 hardware releases later in the year I’m assuming there may also be a EXP Alpha as well.
could the alpha be a cabinet? that ofc takes the carts, etc.
If you look at the pre order for the controller it says on the box, compatible with the vs / vs-r / alpha. I mean I’m guessing it’s gotta be the next model up of the vs. It’ll be the new November hardware and will have a game or 2 bundled with it. Before ordering a vs-r I’d wait to see what this is.
I ended up preordering the Thalamus and Tate holder. Holding off on the VS-R and EXP-R. Waiting to see what this Alpha is.
I'll wait it out for the EXP-R bundle and think the Alpha may be a more powerful VS Console that can handle 5th Generation 32/64bit console games better than the current hardware e.g. Sega Saturn, Playstation & Nintendo 64. Keep up the awesome work!

Im gonna hold out as well. Curious about the Alpha. I think a hybrid system would be super cool. I would easily pass on the other systems and totally go hybrid.

I preordered the Thalamus collection, which I didn’t expect to do initially - I actually relate to wha you’ve said about the blue carts, and didn’t have any blue carts for the longest time. But I bought one of the C64 collections on a whim and I was surprised that I actually liked it, so I figured I’d give it a shot. But I can definitely see why people wouldn’t want em, especially since we’re all just waiting for the arcade carts but these damn blue carts keep coming instead.
I might eventually get the tomb raider cart, i just havent decided yet. Im not that much of a fan of the tomb raider games, so Im going to think about it.
As far as the Alpha - I think you’re right that it’s going to be a switch / hybrid system. I would really like it if it was just a dock or a kickstand that allowed you to plug in extra controllers to the existing EXP. I really dont need another console at this point, but id love it if there was a way for me to play multiplayer on the EXP.
Thanks my friend! I’ll eventually get to that 1000 lol. Of course it’s a goal, but it’s more important to me personally that I’m having fun doing this…which I am. I’ve meant so many really cool people doing this who enjoy all different game genres.

As far as the Alpha, it’s just a guess but I can’t think of anything else it could be lol. Guess we will find out soon👍
I have to say, it is cool you’re doing this. Having 800+ subs too -if you think about that means there’s 800 plus people out there that like to hear/ want to know what you have to say.
No one has mentioned the EXP-R is $131, not $100. Walmart was selling the old EXP for $149 and today it's $199!
According to Evercades Email, both the EXP-R and the VS-R are $99. They also mentioned it in the showcase for both. Unless they are misleading people. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but I’m Curious where it said $131? Both of my emails from Blaze say $99.99 for both🤷🏻♂️
Passing on all of this stuff. I already have the tomb raider games on steam and don't play them. I see no reason to buy carts I won't play.

Very curious. Heard someone speculate this is a super handheld with 30 preloaded games. I don't know. The EXP was originally $150 and if this is too much closer to $200 you're essentially competing with the Switch Lite and I don't think that's a smart battle. Others thought it might be a more beefed up VS but what's the point of that if you're going to keep everything compatible with the original hardware? I think you're on to something with the idea of them wanting a real hybrid. That still leads to a lot of questions on price, what's included in the box and other factors but from what I've heard that idea makes the most sense.
by the way, while I'm curious what the Alpha will be Blaze can put out all the hardware they want and it won't matter if they don't get back to adding some quality to the games library. Tomb Raider is nice but the games this year have been really, really weak so far.
I 100% agree! The games are most important. They definitely need to turn it up a notch.
It's all speculation, but maybe the Evercade Alpha is going to be a somehow new and improved controller for the VS. I mean, who knows though, I just hope it's something cool.
No doubt! But I’m still waiting for some Arcade cart news. That’s what I’m most excited about.
@@GameFreak1976 Hell yeah brother, me too!! Almost every Blaze post that I see, from Twitter (or X or whatever damn mood Elon is in that day 😂) to Facebook, every single post that I've seen has been loaded with people begging for more arcade releases! "Feed us Blaze!!! Feed us!!! Your customers are starving!!". So far I've seen speculations about the Alpha thing ranging from everything like that hybrid console, to a light gun setup, and even a steering wheel setup with Crazy taxi, Cruis'in, or Rush arcade game. I don't know if a Giga cart could support one of those racing titles though, but I could definitely see a light gun game with House Of The Dead one or two, or maybe Virtual Cop or something like that. Whatever the case is, it is pretty awesome to see people already getting excited over such a simple "Coming Soon" announcement.
The use if the word Alpha is intriguing to me. In biblical text alpha means beginning to omega which means end. In layman's terms alpha means first. But the first to what ? Over the years other podcast have speculated over Blaze possibly doing a EXP with two cart slots like the VS where others have speculated of doing a VS that had multiple cart slots that you could plug up to 10 to 12 carts into it. The EXP with two cart slots is kind of redundant since their coming out with a revised EXP-R and Blaze hasn't really been supporting the extra game feature like in the past when you placed two carts of the same game company into the VS. And questions are coming about of what exactly is a VS-R ? Theoretically it should be exactly like a standard VS with just a new skin on it. So what does the "R" really represent here ? I going to go out on a limb on pure speculation here and wonder if a new VS is coming out with preloaded games on it like the original EXP or possibly a mini arcade cabinet with multiple cart slots on it where you can add a second player using the wired controller since having two sets of controls on a mini arcade cabinet kind of cramps things up a bit ? Or is Blaze going to blow us all away with something we never saw coming ?? Speculations !! Speculations !!

I noticed the tomb raider collections is more expensive than their normal game prices and more than the thalamus collection… I wonder why or how that would make any sense..
It’s because it’s on their new Giga carts. It’s actually the first on these new carts. All Giga carts will be $25 while the others will still be $20 on release. Basically the Giga carts can hold larger games👍

Alpha no matter what it is is a lame name. Possibly a VS supporting 4k or an EXP with larger screen?
