- Check out this video for the correct way to upgrade your 4Runner to the TRD PRO grill. Filmed on iPhone X 4K .
Don’t break your grill, follow this guide to correctly remove the grill clips without pulling. It doesn’t require lots of force like other videos. Don’t risk it!!
This is the best tutorial on this out there, by far. Thank you!
Ryan Casey awesome! Glad it worked
Impressive how you figured the removal process on your own. It takes a kind of patient /resilient attitude to do a proper disassembly /reassembly, let alone not having factory instructions to do it.
I’ve learned over time not to force the removal! Specially on these fasteners for vehicles. With the right tools it normally comes off unbroken
Thank you so much for the good instructions and showing the tabs I had to watch 3 videos before I found the tabs thank you again 👍🏼👍🏼
Stephanie Nicole great job! I’m glad my video helped!! Thank you for watching
Great video... that new grill makes such a big difference. 👍
I installed mine using this video. Went Well and easy.
Nice!! Glad it helped
What did you do with the top tape? when do you remove it?
Peter Lin the ends of the tape hang out, so when you push the plastic on, then pull the backing off which makes the tape stick. Just download the instructions and has a guide to show you.
Excellent attention to detail. This really helps, thank you so much. Two thumbs up !!
You're welcome!
Thanks!! I will be doing mine in a few days. It’s brand new and was hoping someone made a video.
Here is a tip. In order to get the cover on exactly center try using two pieces of cardboard taped on the inside of the faring where you stick on the plastic cover. This way it should center it perfectly as there is about 1/8” gap in each side. I’ve seen some of these installs pushed all the way to one side leaving a huge gap on the other side. Take a min and dry fit the plastic cover so you know how its going to go on, you only get once chance to make it straight!!
David Johnson added a tip for you
UNKPCRIDE Thanks!! Overall everything went well I don’t like how the ends have a small space where it’s adheres to the existing piece but that’s as far as it goes. It’s centered good and makes the whole front look great! Thanks for the tip!
Thanks! I used your video today to complete my swap!
Jaime Sauceda glad it worked ! Thanks for watching! Be sure to check out my other videos !!
Great job. Thanks for making it so easy to follow.

@@onelife9374 Toyota is literally ripping us off with 2 pieces of plastic and tape.... will never pay $500+ for this... going the knockoff way for this mod
Was really helpful! Thanks a lot!!!
Big help. Ty for doing this video
Great video!! Thanks so much! Do you have the part numbers for the grill upper and the "TOYOTA" grille center? Also, are there any additional parts to order to do this install?
Just search it up. It’s two parts the grill and cover facade
Thanks great video
Does upper grill secure over trim cover? Wondering if glue fails, would it just pop off like at the car wash? Thanks
Reza M Amin the tape won’t fail and it won’t come off. TIP: don’t take your 4 runner to the car wash unless it’s touchless. Those brushes will scratch the fuck out of your 4Runner.
Good video... got her done ... thanks
Thanks. Glad you got it done!
Great video. I have the same black 4Runner. Did you consider painting the garnish the same midnight black to match the body?
Yes just the other day I was looking at the OEM valence for $220 on eBay. I could paint it but would want to get it professionally painted to make it last which would cost the same anyways
Thanks. By garnish I meant the grill center piece with the Toyota letters. I know it comes in matte black, but what are your thoughts on matching the body color?
Oh I think leaving it mat is awesome. Not sure about painting it. Actually I haven’t seen one painted so it could look awesome ! I like the contrast of mat and shiny. I have the TRD wheels and lift and the rack is mat
Did you use a 3M GPAC or prep solvent for the top of the grill (just before sliding on the new garnish)?
Vincent Galang I think I just wiped it with alcohol swab, clean with a damp rag first. What I would do is cut 2 strips of cardboard and stick on the inside edge so when you put the plastic cover on you have it perfectly centered. It’s easy to get it shifted one way by a 1/16 or 1/8 “. Take time and line it up good and then press and hold
They are a little hard to get as it’s sold out everywhere however. I saw one on Amazon but for up to 2016, not sure if the 2018 is different. Just do a search and you’ll find who has them. Call your local Toyota dealer as well.
UNKPCRIDE 2014 to 2019 should fit right in
Great video. Thank you.
Joe Snegs thanks a lot! Be sure to subscribe for future videos!
Is this the same process for a 2015 SR5 Premium??
Excellent!
louie000007 thank you!
Where did you purchase the grill? I want to make sure to get the right one and not a knock off.
I got mine from the dealer when they first came out, I pretty much was over charged. Oh well. But yea just get it from the dealer and you can verify the model /sku's. Its will be about $500 for both pieces
Is this genuine trd grill or aftermarket? If aftermarket, got a link?

@@UNKPCRIDE I'm truly facinated you take the initiatve to post a how-to video to help people do something they could have found elsewhere on the internet, but when people ask for help you are an asshole and tell them to figure it out themselves on the internet. That's a special type of person right there. Your wife must love you!
Can you supply a link as to where you got this?
Kallen Hunstiger I just got it at the Toyota dealer. Just call around they were hard to find based on availbility
check ebay, similar pricing as from dealer
Would you consider selling the stock grill? 👀👀👀
Sure the part at 5:08 on the video? It’s the grill insert with the OEM logo. I even have one black out cover left for it. Email me pcride@gmail.com
Do you have leds in your headlights??
T4rTrail no just stock lights
My 2018 came with LEDs from the factory.
Tyler Durden must have been a dealer installed option because they come with projector halogens! That's awesome!
T4rTrail I also have a SR5 premium
Tyler Durden nice! Love my 4runner💪
Put the link to this grill pls
just do a search on the internet, or go to the toyota dealer. They are widely available at this point. You can get the OEM which is around $500, or knock offs around $200, the knock offs have the letters separated
Why didn’t you peel all the tape off the top end?
I did. Not sure what you are looking at. Thank you for watching!
Edwin Hernandez I did. Your suppose to leave the ends flipped back on the top so when you stick it on, you can get it on straight. Because that top strip is on the top of the grill so it would be impossible to slide it into place before it’s already stuck! Make sense?
Edwin Hernandez it’s all covered in the manual instructions
Would this fit a 2018 limited
Probably not, just call Toyota and ask.
Has anyone done this on a 4runner SR5? Thinking about doing this on my 2017 4runner SR5...
Pops right in :)
Remedy ...TRD PRO 4RUNNER
1st Name Basis why? It’s fine. The tile refers to the grill which is most common on the PRO, the second part of the title refers to the ORP.
Screw the tabs , yank on that grill till it’s out like your 12 years old again 😂. Your trashing it anyway right , i would but mine came with the TRD factory
You need to keep part of the grill, only the top portion of the grill is replaced, the main part you must be careful!
One of the dumbest mods I have ever seen for one of the best vehicles in the world.
W Bice after having it a while I’m liking the OEM grill, I may switch it back.
The Heritage grill looks awesome. There is a reason it is so popular.
