    Impressive how you figured the removal process on your own. It takes a kind of patient /resilient attitude to do a proper disassembly /reassembly, let alone not having factory instructions to do it.

    • @UNKPCRIDE

      I’ve learned over time not to force the removal! Specially on these fasteners for vehicles. With the right tools it normally comes off unbroken

      What did you do with the top tape? when do you remove it?

    • @UNKPCRIDE
      @UNKPCRIDE  Před 5 lety

      Peter Lin the ends of the tape hang out, so when you push the plastic on, then pull the backing off which makes the tape stick. Just download the instructions and has a guide to show you.

      Here is a tip. In order to get the cover on exactly center try using two pieces of cardboard taped on the inside of the faring where you stick on the plastic cover. This way it should center it perfectly as there is about 1/8” gap in each side. I’ve seen some of these installs pushed all the way to one side leaving a huge gap on the other side. Take a min and dry fit the plastic cover so you know how its going to go on, you only get once chance to make it straight!!

      UNKPCRIDE Thanks!! Overall everything went well I don’t like how the ends have a small space where it’s adheres to the existing piece but that’s as far as it goes. It’s centered good and makes the whole front look great! Thanks for the tip!

    • @UNKPCRIDE

      Reza M Amin the tape won’t fail and it won’t come off. TIP: don’t take your 4 runner to the car wash unless it’s touchless. Those brushes will scratch the fuck out of your 4Runner.

      @UNKPCRIDE  Před 5 lety

      Yes just the other day I was looking at the OEM valence for $220 on eBay. I could paint it but would want to get it professionally painted to make it last which would cost the same anyways

      @pgryseels99 Před 5 lety

    • @UNKPCRIDE
      @UNKPCRIDE  Před 5 lety

      Oh I think leaving it mat is awesome. Not sure about painting it. Actually I haven’t seen one painted so it could look awesome ! I like the contrast of mat and shiny. I have the TRD wheels and lift and the rack is mat

  • @vpgalang
    @vpgalang Před 6 lety +1

    Did you use a 3M GPAC or prep solvent for the top of the grill (just before sliding on the new garnish)?

    • @UNKPCRIDE
      @UNKPCRIDE  Před 6 lety

      Vincent Galang I think I just wiped it with alcohol swab, clean with a damp rag first. What I would do is cut 2 strips of cardboard and stick on the inside edge so when you put the plastic cover on you have it perfectly centered. It’s easy to get it shifted one way by a 1/16 or 1/8 “. Take time and line it up good and then press and hold

  • @UNKPCRIDE

    They are a little hard to get as it’s sold out everywhere however. I saw one on Amazon but for up to 2016, not sure if the 2018 is different. Just do a search and you’ll find who has them. Call your local Toyota dealer as well.

      Edwin Hernandez I did. Your suppose to leave the ends flipped back on the top so when you stick it on, you can get it on straight. Because that top strip is on the top of the grill so it would be impossible to slide it into place before it’s already stuck! Make sense?
