You do this very well love the bloopers
Thank you so much 😁
Very detailed video, amazing but I want to ask... do any of these cameras have night vision? If not what one would you suggest with all thise features plus night vision
Thank you for uploading this helpful video. I recently got hit and run while parked. I was considering a dash camera. This will definitely help me decide
Glad to hear it helped :D. Feel free to reach out if you have further questions.
Great review answered all I needed thanks a lot
Glad we can help, thanks for watching!
Hi Your videos are interesting and educational, I am getting my first dash cam, can't decide with uthinkware and viofo 139. Can you suggest with consideration of installation, harsh cold weather, parking surveillance and covering both sides of may car. I have 2022 Honda HRV sport. THANKS!
Excellent review, thank you
Thanks for watching!
What's up! Love the video
What would you recommend for a parking model security camera to capture the inside of the car?
Hi have you tested the NextBase 622GW parking mode is it as good as the Blackvue 4K. loved your video very interesting
I wish i could see how the Garmin Tandem's parking mode works. Great video!
I own Viofo 129 Pro and It's powered mount gets rid of ice or condensate on windscreen. What other brand mounts do that? And what about Kenwood DRV-A601W? Spec seems to be very nice and price is low...
I would like to know if there are additional / accessory cameras to add on the driver & passenger side
There’s been a very high rate of catalytic converter theft along with breaking into a vehicle by inserting some type of device to break the key locks etc
I have the A139 3 channel dashcam hardwired with their kit. I works great when I shut off the vehicle and immediately goes into parking mode. I have it set for 1 hour. What I dont understand is the auto event recorder does that work when the parking mode is on and when the hour is up in parking mode is auto event on or off? Thanks
In the new Honda Civic 2022 Touring Hatchback, it has an engine idle turn off function that turns off the engine at a traffic light and auto resumes when one lifts their foot off the brake. So it will kick the Thinkware into parking mode every time the car idle stops? What would be impacted?
Also you tested with battery packs, does that mean that hard wired loses some functionality and serious longetivity of recording lost if any?
What would you suggest for a PLUGIN HYBRID VW GOLF GTE/ Can you explain further the part where you mentioned Porsche and BMW please?
Hi, Do you have video on how to wire the battery to the dash cam? I am using add-a-fuse to hard wire to the fuse box.
Hi, thanks for great videos as always. Why do you recommend BlackVue for Tesla, BMW and Porsche ?
Hey Sergey, there were a number of reasons from before that aren't as relevant today anymore. But one of the reasons that still apply is that BlackVue dash cams have thinner cables, making installation easier on vehicles like BMW and Porsche. Hope that helps!
Hello. I’m looking into getting myself a dash cam that can help with the issue of my car getting broken into , over ten times already…. I am leaning into the u1000. I own a 1994 civic hatch back. Would this be compatible with a car that old?
Wait how is 8:41 impact detection when it is recording bc the motion detection kicked in? Did you turn MD off or something
Can the OBD plug still be used for trouble shooting problems?
Why do you recommend the blackview for BMWs? I’m not sure I quite understand
Thanks for the video. Nice review. Just some questions... The test to see which one lasted the longest was done using time lapse but at what fps.. ? Also in the case of a dual channel system can the buffered motion detection also be triggered by the rear camera? Thanks
The time-lapse videos are shot at 30fps and in regards to the 2CH system, the buffered motion can be detected by the rear camera 😊
@@blackboxmycar thanks
Hey, just a follow up question. Viofo came out with a triple camera option in the A139. Do you know if Thinkware is going to be doing something similar with their U1000 line? Thanks.
Really like your videos, found them super helpful! I will be needing to purchse a system soon. I have a question about in-cab detection recording while in parking. When I give my fob to the valet in my building's garage they keep it until the next morning. They claim they need it to move vehicles as parking spots become filled. They park the over nighters in the back and visitors in front. I can't prove it, but I think they're smoking in my car, running the A/C. Is there a way to detect in-cab surveillance while in parking mode?
Thank you and thanks for watching! Yes you can, you will just to need install a camera that has an IR (Infrared) interior camera and make sure you have parking mode enabled 😊
Just park your car in a spot and take your keys with you!
Let them rearrange the other cars only FFS!
Lots of good info here. It answered a lot of questions I had on "parking mode". I saw another video where it said if you have a battery pack you have to drive over an hour a day to keep it charged. This is important info. Can you confirm?
Hi! Tx for interesting video.
I'm choosing dash cam with 2 cameras and parking mode, that takes minimum energy.
I don't need buffering record, if it possible to turn off on them.
Choosing beetwen viofo a139 and thinkware f800 pro.
Could you help me with advice, Which uses less energy from car battery?
The F800 Pro would use less energy, but we unfortunately no longer supply this camera.
Is the Thinkwareu1000 better than BlackVue DR900X-2CH? They're in similar price range
Great channel man. Which one you recommend to me if i wanna watch my car in real time on my phone while it's parked?
Hi Ruben, definitely one with Cloud features. Try the Thinkware U1000 or the BlackVue DR900X!
Do any of these have 360 view? Like mounted in the middle of the interior, or multiple cameras?
Thanks for putting this together! The question I have is if I’m parked at an airport parking garage for four days, will the battery pack last that long? Can you configure the dash cams to only turn on if it feels a bump? And why do you recommend the black for you for BMWs? Thanks
In general you would be best served by security cameras if you're going to be parked longer than a couple days. However Thinkware + their radar system is designed for long term parking mode can do up to 4 days depending on the car.
@@blackboxmycar what is the difference between a security cam for your and a dash cam since they’re both connected to the cars battery.
Hi mate,
Thank you for the review. Just would like to know after we hard wired the ThinkWare U1000 with ThinkWare battery pack which will give me 15Hrs of backup in parking mode. But what happens after 15hrs, does the dash cam shuts down or it will now take the power from Car Battery 🔋.
Thank you.
The Thinkware battery will not draw power when the car is off, and thus when power is all drawn, the battery/dash cam will shut off.
Hi, if my cam is plugged into usb next to my rear view mirror. Isn’t that constant power? Thanks
Is the 48 hour battery on the Thinkware using energy saving mode or normal mode? According to Thinkware the energy saving mode is not buffered and therefore only records after impact. Just trying to confirm as the longest battery life is my top priority in choosing a camera. If it’s in normal mode, do you know how long it lasts in energy saving? Thank you!
Hi John, the 48 hour battery life will be using the energy saving mode + the Thinkware RADAR. If you're just in normal parking mode, you should be seeing anywhere between 30-36 hours (if not less). The wide range is because it's also largely dependent on your vehicle as well, ie. size of your car's battery, etc.
What kind of dash cam do you have . I am looking for one , that trackes my speed and has the G sensor, front & back cam. I would also like to use a capacitor , not a batter. Can you help ! thank You
Thanks for reaching out. I can assure you that all of our premium cameras here use a capacitor and have the features listed. If you would like those features with excellent image quality, the Viofo A129 Plus Duo or A229 Duo will fit your needs. If you'd like something a bit more advanced and user friendly, the Thinkware F200 Pro 2-CH is a good choice as well.
Well Glad to see my hours of looking at dash cams paid off.
I did a lot of looking and comparing. and got the Thinkware U1000. and I have not looked back.
I am trying to find a reliable source for the battery for it. Being in Denmark, getting it can be a bit difficult and pricey.
Thanks for the video.
Hi there, awesome - great choice on the Thinkware U1000. Have you contacted our team? We do ship outside North America on special occasions. Contact us at info[at]blackboxmycar.com and we'll send you a shipping quote.
@@blackboxmycar I used the German Amazon which shiped thru the Thinkware out of the UK. but from outside the US and shipping batteries can get very pricey. But I will contact you, thanks for the fast reply.
@@KDaverGraphics Of course! We're here to help :)
@@one.sachin I did hardwire it. but not sure how many hours I get form it. I have not really checked that part as of yet. as I normally use the car daily. but I am looking for when it will sit in a airport parking lot when I travel.
Hi there, if you're hardwiring the Thinkware U1000 without a battery, you should expect your dash cam to be able to last anywhere between 6-8 hours (dependent on your vehicle battery, how much it's charged, etc.). If you get a dash cam battery, you can extend it to way more than that (as shown in the video).
Hello kind sir! What do you recommend for Kia Rio 2015? I need one that’s reliable for parking mode and live recording when driving. Also is there a recommendation for a rear dash cam to?
Hi there, if you prioritize parking mode, we'd recommend the Thinkware U1000. It comes with a rear camera.
Hi, I currently have a thinkware F800Pro and have been thinking of upgrading to the U1000. Would I be able to use the existing wiring, the existing bracket mounted to the windshield and the existing rear camera or would these all need to be replaced? Has the quality of parking mode increased much since the F800Pro? I live in a major city and park in a shared garage, I often catch intruders on my F800Pro, but it it’s hard to make anything out.
Hi Gregory, we have documented compatibility here: support.blackboxmycar.com/article/6xdwygz28x-if-i-m-upgrading-from-a-thnkware-f-800-f-800-pro-q-800-pro-to-a-thinkware-u-1000-will-the-cables-be-compatible
The wiring, bracket mounts and rear cameras will all need to be switched as they are not compatible with one another. Parking mode has definitely increased, and do make sure you take advantage of Thinkware Cloud (vastly improved) to get those real-time notifications when you catch intruders :)
I want the U1000 features that will stream video over cellular, as thieves will just grab it and bye bye footage. Is such a device or combination of components available?
I'm considering the Thinkware u1000 as my first dash cam. I'm curious as to how much time can fit on a 16/32/64/128/256 card. Better to use one big one or a few smaller ones? I'm thinking 64 or 128.
Hi bdj1, we have a helpful table created for this here: www.blackboxmycar.com/pages/sd-cards - please have a look!
What Camera would you reccomend for 2016 Prius Four Touring. I want a rear camera 5o lount as well. with parking mode and record buffer for hit and runs. Thanks
For parking mode, we always recommend the Thinkware U1000. And if that doesn't work for you, try the BlackVue DR900X as well!
Hi I love your content! I am looking for a dash cam. First time buying ,what do you recommend that is good overall and high quality? Thank you
Hi Jennie, it depends on what features you're wanting a dash cam for. If you're prioritizing Cloud features, then we recommend the BlackVue DR900X. If you're prioritizing Parking Mode, then we recommend the Thinkware U1000. If you're prioritizing video quality, then we recommend the VIOFO A129 Pro!
If you have a specific budget in mind, it will help us help you find the right dash cam for you :) Do contact our support team at info[at]blackboxmycar.com and we'll be there to help!
@@blackboxmycar thanks for this!
I have a question, do these affect a cars battery??? I have a 2019 Avalon! And wanted to know which is best for me to get for when my car is parked , as well as driving
Hi Celest, the dash cams will only charge and pull from your car battery when you're driving. It will not affect your car battery when your ignition is off. We'd recommend the Thinkware U1000 dash cam - it's got the best overall protection for you. Please reach out to us at info[at]blackboxmycar.com!
does buffer parking mode work with the rear camera or only the front camera? and does the g-force feature turn on the rear camera to record the incident or does only the front camera records it?
Buffered parking works for the rear would work as well, yup.
The g sensor also signals the rear to start recording.
Am I wrong or the cloud function is not working for Thinkware while using the Radar in energy saving mode 2.0? This means it’s useless and it might be getting stollen without a trace
Which one these cameras works well with Volvo XC40? I previously installed (hardwired) Blackvue DR750s but had to uninstall as Parking Mode was not up to scratch.
Hi Tariela, as long as you have access to your fuse panel, it will work. As you'r prioritizing parking mode, we recommend the Thinkware U1000.
Which dash cam is recommended for 6-7 day parking continuously. And best power source for it.
That's quite the long parking window there! I would firmly recommend the Thinkware U1000 for that. With the U1000 and radar module you would be looking at 1-2 days of parking mode, but combining that with our largest battery, the PowerCell 8, you could get 7-8 days of parking mode.
Awesome review!! Very thorough and concise. My only question is about the hardwiring kit. I obviously don’t want to drain my car battery, but I know I can’t afford the battery pack at this moment. However, I need my cameras ASAP (I believe someone is slashing my tires). I have settled with the thinkware u1000, for my 2009 Hyundai Elantra. Which hardwiring kit do you recommend?
Hi Sharelle, for the hardwiring kit, you can use the Thinkware hardwiring kit. It actually comes with the hardwiring kit in the box if you're buying the Thinkware U1000 dual-channel model: www.blackboxmycar.com/products/thinkware-u1000-4k-uhd-dual-channel-cloud-dash-cam - If you have more questions, don't hesitate to contact our support team at info[at]blackboxmycar.com too!
Hopefully you catch that person slashing your tires!
@@blackboxmycar do you guys have any reviews on side mirror dash cams?
Hi Sharelle, unfortunately, we do not offer any side mirror dash cams on our website.
@@blackboxmycar Sorry for asking so much questions. I’m just trying to make sure I know all I need to know before purchasing. My last question is should I spend this much on a dash cam if I’m only interested in parking mode, or would you recommend an older model?
Hi Sharelle, not a problem at all - that's what we're here for :) Parking mode in itself is a very valuable feature to have, especially when you never know what will happen to your car when you're not around, but even beyond that, you'll always want to be wary of hit-and-runs, accidents and even insurance fraud while you're driving. The Thinkware U1000 has proven to be very reliable, and I think it's the one for you!
That said, if you do have more questions, don't hesitate to contact our team at info[at]blackboxmycar.com. We're more than happy to answer more questions that you may have.
At approx the 12 min mark you're discussing how many seconds of recording each camera has pre and post an impact incident but you don't mention anything for the Viofo. Does it not have that feature?
Why are you recommending the blackvue dr900 for bmw and porsches specifically for the g sensor? What specifically about these brand of cars make them need the g sensor over other brands? Thanks!
Hi Derek, there were a number of reasons from before that aren't as relevant today anymore. But one of the reasons that still apply is that BlackVue dash cams have thinner cables, making installation easier on vehicles like bmw and Porsche. Hope that helps!
I don't understand, if the trigger to start recording is an 'impact', then what triggers the actual "buffer recording" (before the impact)?
Does it mean that camera is always on (while car is parked, that can last for days without moving) and only records to buffer, and only on impact records to a file??
if this is the case, and I don't have the external battery that you used, and it connected to fuse box, than it won't last too long.
Hi Yevsh, the trigger to start recording would be through motion. The dash cam detects the motion, then starts recording. Once there is an impact detected (through G-Sensor), it combines both the motion and impact clips together to provide you with a full picture of the incident.
@@blackboxmycar but if my car parked on street , in parallel to a busy road , it will be triggered by passing cars 24/7...
As i am not planning to buy external battery it will drain (or blocked by wirekit) in few hours.
Is it possible to disable motion detection?
Hi Yevsh, it is possible to disable motion detection. If you're parked on a busy street, then we recommend using Time Lapse mode for the parking mode instead of motion detection so it captures a frame every couple seconds for the full picture.
With the Blackvue and Thinkware, what do you do for long periods of the vehicle being parked, like in your own garage while you've gone away on vacation?
Hi Raymond, for the longest parking mode duration, we recommend combining the Thinkware U1000 + the RADAR. It's proven to provide users with the longest period of parking mode time of up to 7 days. Unfortunately, because the dash cam only has so much battery, you won't be able to get parking mode for longer than that if you've gone away on vacation.
If you have more questions, please give us a try at info[at]blackboxmycar.com!
House fitting Cctv (or " surveillance cameras" for USA) would be better as it have a constant power to the system (or have a smart trickle charger connected to car while away)
parking mode is more for when your not at your house, if you come back and car is missing due to you been on holiday the dashcam isn't going to help you
My dashcam can keep recording for about 2-3 days off my car battery in parking mode cable (motion activation) before the parking mode cable cuts off the power to the dashcam
Hi, I bought a car few days back & I see a dent today, some one did it.
I want to have a dashcam which can record all sides when it is parked. With good battery and get notifications right away. Which one do you recommend. Super urgent! Please Reply 🙏
Right now, 4 channel dashcams (front, rear and side view) are just starting to make it onto the market so I do not have specific recommendations yet. If you want notifications of impact right away the Blackvue cams with Blackvue cloud are a great choice! They have impact and motion detection, and with a cloud plan and mobile hotspot, will give live notifications if any of them get triggered. That would be my suggestion for now! If you need side view on top of front/back, I would recommend a supplement secondary cam, but it gets more complicated to install and configure.
Hi, what dashcam is better, viofo a129 duo or nextbase 322gw front and rear, they are similar price.
Hi there, we'll be exploring the NextBase in one of our upcoming videos, but we do only offer the VIOFO on our website. We're happy to answer any feature-specific questions with the VIOFO, but the VIOFO A129 Duo is quite dated and we recommend checking out one of the newer models like the VIOFO A129 Plus Duo which has 2K resolution compared to the NextBase's 1080P.
This is really interesting. I’m looking for something that will help me after my 4 tyres were slashed and parking mode is the feature I’m looking for the most in a dash cam. I’m always intrigued incase a car did touch your car but didn’t leave a mark, will the dash cam tell you it recorded a something?
A dash cam detects motion & impact, and will alert you when that does happen. By default, the dash cam will continue to record regardless of if anything is happening or not. So to answer your question, if motion is detected, yes - it will be recorded and will tell you!
@@blackboxmycarSo, I am having someone in my apartment vandalizing my car. I need a dash cam with 24 hour motion sensor detector that I can see the footage from my phone. I want it to be under $150 and not killing my battery. What camera should I get?
What do you recommend for a 2020 Volvo S60 and would that be a hardwire or OBD port?
Hey R B, it will depend on which dash cam you work with, but hardwire installation will work for your vehicle. OBD installation cables are only available for Thinkware, so please reach out to us at info[at]blackboxmycar.com if you're interested in purchasing.
Do you have a video on the best way to power your dashcam for parking mode? Say, hardwiring vs. battery? Seems like a battery would be a problem in hot areas?
Hi Sodoodle, we have an installaion guide on our website:
www.blackboxmycar.com/pages/dash-cam-installation-guide
But if you have more questions, we're happy to help! Contact us at info[at]blackboxmycar.com.
Any of these supporting parking mode for backup camera as well ? Motion, time lapse ,g-sensor ..and so on?
For backup camera, are you asking about the rearview camera? If so, yes - parking mode is included in the rearview camera of the dash cam. If you're specifically asking about the backup camera though, the answer is no unfortunately.
What a coincidence, 2 days ago I was thinking of the best dash cam to own, but google couldn’t provide much help, and this video gave me a lot of insights, #(but I love if you could do a similar experiment on front and rear dash cam’s?! Please)#, very well presented, couldn’t been better, and I am glad this was in my recommendations
Hi Hatim, thanks for leaving a comment. We will definitely put your feedback into our future videos too!
BlackboxMyCar Thank you very much Joseph, but I managed to stumble somehow on 3 of your videos, that comprehensively answered my query (Best dashcams of 2020, presented by Alex Jang in “Vortex Radar Channel”, for a duration of 41 minutes and 11 seconds), (Thinkware U1000 in-depth review, presented by Jonathan from “BlackboxMyCar”, for a duration of 14 minutes and 27 seconds) and also (Thinkware U1000 follow up review, presented by Petrina from “BlackboxMyCar”, for a duration of 5 minutes and 14 seconds), and finally I made up my mind on the “Thinkware U1000 4K UHD Dual-channel cloud dashcam” with a Radar sensor option, then the “Viofo A129 4K Pro Duo”, sorry I forgot to amend my review, because I already found out you covered this subject
Hi Hatim, great to hear! Thanks for watching our videos :) Ask us if you have any questions.
BlackboxMyCar Can you please do a in-depth review of { Vezo 360 degree 4K smart dashcam }, and test it thoroughly, please
Between all of these camera, which one is best for my car (Ioniq5 Limited) I was leaning more towards Viofo
Please contact us at info@blackboxmycar.com for assistance to your inquiry!
Hi, does parking mode work for all the cameras while recording? or just the front one?
It works for all the channels that are connected 😊
At 14:24 you recommend the Blackvue for a BMW for the g-sensor, are you able to explain a little more?
He rlly sucks at explaining stuff. I think he means electric cars because the current doesn't drop at the hard wire connection when the car is turned off or something weird like that. Not sure what that would have to do with BMW or Porsche tho and I'd assume that is only an issue with EV's not hybrids anyway so idk
Does the Viofo A129 notify you of an event when it powers up?
The A129 Pro does have voice notifications, so yes ^
Hi I wanted to find out which is best for parking mode but also do not want to hard wire into my car just in case it effects my car warranty etc any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
Hi Lanie, hardwiring does not typically impact your warranty, and you will either need to hardwire or use a dash cam battery pack if you'd like to use parking mode. For the best parking mode, we recommend the Thinkware U1000 dash cam.
What option or accessory can be paired with the Thinkware U1000 to provide coverage of the inside of the car during driving and parking modes?
Hey there, unfortunately, the U1000 doesn't have an IR option at the moment. You could take the rear camera and change its placement to have it shoot the inside of your car, but we wouldn't recommend it as it doesn't have IR capabilities and your night time footage would not be very visible.
@@blackboxmycar What make and model inside facing cam features parking mode (impact sensing, buffering, IR) that can be powered by a Cellink Neo?
Hey Fearless1, all of the models mentioned in this video has parking mode if you connect it to a Cellink NEO battery pack or through hardwire installation. If you have more questions, we encourage you to contact us at info[at]blackboxmycar.com!
Oh and to add, if you're looking for an IR specific dash cam, you can check out the BlackVue DR900X-2CH IR / VIOFO A129 IR or the BlackVue DR750X-2CH IR.
what are the pros & cons using a obd connection. What do you recommend.
Hey L C, we definitely prefer using an OBD cable when available. It's much more convenient as opposed to using a hardwiring kit. That said, not all dash cams allow for an OBD cable connection ie. BlackVue & VIOFO, and we've had some customers tell us that an OBD cable just doesn't work for their vehicle. If you're looking for a dash cam that offers OBD connection, do consider Thinkware & IROAD dash cams.
I’m thinking about getting a thinkware u1000 with radar for my Jeep. I’m a truck driver and can me gone away from my vehicle for a month at a time. I want the dash cam for security while I’m gone, but I’m worried about my battery dying. Are there any alternatives like a solar trickle charger? What would you suggest? Thanks for the great video!!!
Hi Jaime, thanks for asking. We've never tried with a solar trickle charger, so we won't be able to help unfortunately - but as long as it generates enough voltage and you can find a cable that's compatible to the U1000, then it should be okay. In all honesty, it will be hard to get up to a month of parking mode at a time, but you can get as close to there as possible by connecting multiple fully-charged battery packs together.
Reach out to us at info[at]blackboxmycar.com and we'll see what we can do to help.
@@blackboxmycar so I could just put multiple battery packs in series and it would last? Thank you for your quick response.
Hi Jaime, yep, you start off with a Cellink NEO battery pack, then add on additional Cellink NEO Expansion Batteries (ie. call them expansion packs for the original battery)!
And is it possible to add cameras tbat monitor sides of vehicle?
Dear BlackboxMyCar! Which type of 256 GB micro SD card would you prefer / advise to use with the Viofo A129 ProDuo dash cam? If I do not buy the official card of Viofo. If you could write an exact manufacture and exact card type I would be happy with it. I read at forums that with many cards this type of dash cam has problem. Numerous owners have complained about two rapid beeps when driving or in parking mode. The two beeps typically occurs when the camera is finalizing one video clip and stumbles to start a new clip. This has caused 5 second gaps in clips, clips being truncated or in the worst case entire video clips missing.
Hi András, please look into the SanDisk A1 or above cards. We recommend those to all of our customers for their performance.
@@blackboxmycar Thank you for your answer and suggestion. ;)
@@TheTrancefool No problem, glad it was helpful!
Which cameras are 360 detection? I think all the videos are facing front and not sure any are 360?
We haven't found a good 360 degree dash cam that we could recommend, because we personally find that a front & interior dash cam would be a lot more efficient for a driver's safety.
Will having tinted windows block rear facing cam from viewing outside ?
Hi Gabe, a lot of our customers have tinted windows actually. That said, you can adjust the brightness of the rear camera through the dash cam settings itself.
Hi , would you still get the same facilities from the rear camera. Say if someone reversed into the back of your car?
By facilities, if you meant footage from the rear camera, yes!
@@blackboxmycar Hi I meant in parking mode do they have the same functionality in the rear as the front camera. To catch hit and run accidents at the rear as they do from the front? Cheers.
That's correct ^ same functionality in the rear as the front camera.
Hi. Does Viofo A129 Pro Duo give you a notification when there's an incident during parking mode?
Hi Glenn, it will after you return to your car. Because it does not have Cloud features, you won't be able to get real-time alerts on your phone for the incident, but you will get it after you return to your car and turn on your car ignition.
Which camera do you recommend for a Ford F-150 2010 truck?
Please contact our sales team via email for assistance!
Hey Steve, contact us at info[at]blackboxmycar.com for help! But do check out the Thinkware Q1000 as we just launched that last week and it's a great option for those looking for great safety features on their dash cam.
Will the celllink neo batteries be ok in vehicle parked in hot florida sun?
Yes! These dash cam batteries are specifically designed for the hot temperature in vehicles.
I have a Compustar drone mobile x1 max system, do you think there's a way to tie the cellink neo with that too? I am leaning towards the dr900x
Hi KeenEyes, unfortunately we are not familiar with that drone system, but as long as you can plug in using the USB outlet, then it should work. That said, there is no USB outlet on the Cellink NEO, so we do recommend looking into the BlackboxMyCar BI-750 Battery Pack.
@@blackboxmycar follow up question, would your battery pack usb out be able to charge a phone? For instance hook up to a phone mount so it could charge a phone even if the car was off?
Absolutely. As long as the battery pack has a USB port, it will charge your phone even when your car ignition is off. Well, and also, as long as the battery pack has battery in it.
Great video. Why do you say specifically that Porsche Bmw and Tesla should get the BlackVue due to its g sensor?
Hey there, the main reason why we suggest this is mainly due to the way dash cams enter parking mode.
BlackVue dash cams are triggered through G-Sensor, whereas Thinkware/VIOFO dash cams are triggered by vehicle ignition (voltage cut-off).
There have been instances where some EV don't have ACC fuse, and other instances where their batteries won't shut off as quickly, delaying the time that it takes to get into parking mode. Specifically for that reason is why we recommend BlackVue for electric vehicles. However, it's still possible to use Thinkware/VIOFO dash cams on some models - just ask us at info[at]blackboxmycar.com if you have any questions!
My dash cam plugged in to fuse box killed my battery on Lexus. What would be the good solution to avoid this? I have anker roav
Hi Toshi, have you considered getting a dash cam battery pack? Check out the BlackboxMyCar BI-750 Dash Cam Battery on our website!
@@blackboxmycar My car is parked right next to high traffic park. It may have triggered lots of motion detection. What model would you recommend with the battery pack in 2022?
I live in Las Vegas & I’m worried about the battery pack overheating. Is this a valid concern?
Hi Leah, definitely a valid concern, and this is why dash cam battery packs are made with LiFEPO4 materials meant for situations as such. They will have a much higher heat tolerance compared to using a regular power bank for your dash cam. We have an article that you learn more about here: www.blackboxmycar.ca/pages/dash-cam-battery-packs
Which dashcams have buffered parking mode that don’t require any of this fancy wiring. Any?
I wish there was a simple answer. Best Buy does offer this service...... I plan on having them do it and saving me the headache.
Hi Steve, you'll need to hardwire a dash cam in order to achieve parking mode. Alternatively, hooking up an external dash cam battery with a dash cam will allow you to get parking mode as well - we can help you with this. Let us know at info[at]blackboxmycar.com.
wondering if I could get your advise? I'm looking to record out the left and right sides of my vehicle this will be done at night slow speed. I deliver newspapers and am getting tired of people saying I missed the when in fact I know I didn't but have no way of proving it. I'm willing to spend not more that $200 obviously lowlight is gonna be detrimental I also will need it to have GPS. what are your thoughts on fps? Thanks for any guidance you can give and your time.
Hey Todd, are you looking for left and right side recording on a budget of $200, or are you going for all 4 sides for a $200 budget? If you're just left and right side, then we recommend installing a separate 2-Channel system within your vehicle. For that budget, we'd recommend something from VIOFO - they have pretty good night time recording as well. Please contact us at info[at]blackboxmycar.com and we can help!
@@blackboxmycar Thanks for taking the time to respond. Yes just right and left. Awesome I had decided on a 2 channel system for motorcycles but in picking one out I started to go down the rabbit whole with a dash cam setup. I'm heading to check that one out on your site now.

I can't connect to the cloud my BlackVue as it says no internet access. Any idea how so fix this issue? I tried to change in the settings 5g to 2.4, but it didn't work.
Ensure you've set up Cloud correctly. Contact us with your order number or BlackVue directly for more in-depth support.
I was leaning toward the U1000 until you said it’s not recommended for BMW. Can you please tell me why in a lot more detail than the similar question answered below?
Hi Aaron, this is because the BMW cars do tend to have smaller batteries, and with the battery draw from the Thinkware U1000, you might not get the parking protection that you need from it. That said, we can still recommend the Thinkware U1000, but we would recommend pairing it with a dash cam battery pack, ie. the Cellink NEO, so you can leverage it for the parking mode you need.
So for example I just parking I go to work at my job is far away my car is off and I’m came back at work what are the happening with my car somebody done happened I should find who did this happen????
If I parked my car close enough to my home's wifi network. Does that mean I will be able to connect the U1000 to said wifi entire time and receive cloud notifications right away?
Hi Steve, unfortunately, Thinkware has mentioned that the U1000 cannot be connected to a home wi-fi. You will have to use a mobile hotspot for the U1000 to receive Cloud notifications.
How does the dashcam knows if that’s the home wi-fi or a wi-fi generated by a hotspot,eg. a mobile phone left inside the car? Or it’s not working like that either?
Since this was 3-4 years ago, a lot of newer dashcams are now out there. Can you do this video again with current models?
I want to know if there is a dashcam with the support of a sim card?! Lte/4g support? Thanks
Hi Daniel, there is! Please look into the BlackVue DR750-2CH LTE, or any of the new BlackVue X-Series.
@@blackboxmycar thankyou
What do you think about thinkware t700 lte?
What cameras are best in parking mode but record all of the car not just the front and back
i want a 2 channel dashcam with motion detection parking mode and wifi/live view app.I want it to continually record until i get back to the car What do you think is best
All of the dash cams mentioned have all of those features, but if you want the best safety features, we'd recommend going with Thinkware U1000 or BlackVue DR900X. They will also have the Live View mode when you pair a mobile hotspot to it.
@@blackboxmycar is the dr900x or dr900s better? Also. What would you reccomend for a hard top convertible? Thanks so much.
Are there any hidden cameras in case somebreaks in they can't take the camera
Hi, Will Viofo 129 Duo drain the car battery
Hi Grant, you can set your voltage monitoring so that the dash cam automatically stops at a certain voltage. This is to not damage your car battery.
Are they both record inside and outside at the same time with sounds?
Hi Maga, for dual channel dash cams, you can record both the front and rear, or the front and interior at the same time with sounds.
Can I use my power bank as a source of power in my dash cam when I parked my car?
Hii I m new here and I just bought subaru forester eyesight can u tell me which dash cam.should I use I want the best premium one plzzz guide me
Hey Om, any dash cam will work great for the Subaru Forester. If you want the best overall dash cam, we'd recommend the Thinkware U1000.

Most dash cam using cigarettes adapter . Do these come with usb that can plug in power bank

Is that battery the power magic pro ? And if not whats the difference between them pls ?
Hi Andrew, the battery is either the Cellink NEO battery pack, or the BlackVue B-124X Battery Pack. Functionally, they're the same. It's just that some customers prefer to use BlackVue dash cams with BlackVue battery packs, and others prefer to use the Cellink NEO.
The Power Magic Pro is just a hardwiring kit for dash cam installation. It doesn't provide you with additional power for your dash cam like a battery does.
@@blackboxmycar thanks for that info

Is there no comparison using the hardwired method without the Celllink Neo?
Hi Will (there's 2 of you!), thanks for the question. We did consider the hardwired method without the Cellink, but like Will #2 mentioned, we were trying to keep the test as controlled as possible. The hardwiring method would give us additional variables to consider, like making sure we're hardwiring in the same vehicles, same year, same battery levels, etc. It would've gotten overly complicated quick!
I have a U1000 dual camera in my 2015 F150, Hardwired, I put a Northstar AGM Group 94R dual purpose battery in ( its the only battery in the truck ) in time lapse mode i get 24hrs easy before the camera shuts off at 12.4 volts. i could get more if i lower the shutdown voltage but im happy with how long it goes...i have pictures of the bluetooth voltage trending but cant upload them here.
You should be able to get about 1-3 days out of parking mode
the low voltage cut off might be set to high, as on my a129 duo (single at the moment as rear cam throws mem error "any sd card" when entering parking mode randomly)
I had my viofo parking cable set to high so it was cutting off way to soon (it has 4 settings, I set it to the lowest 11.8v setting in the end as anything higher was way to sensitive)
I just got a dash cam, basically for parking mode/vandalism prevention more than collision. The car battery drain issue is a puzzler though. I have a blink 1080P motion activated security cam at my front door. It gets heavy use with 10 or more events per day, storing 30 seconds at a time and notifying me via it's WiFi link to the home router. Clearly the motion sensor is always active and the two AA batteries last over a year. So I don't know why we would see appreciable battery drain from a car battery with similar workload. I guess the real question is how much does the motion sensor draw if constantly on but not recording?
I park my car for several days to 2 weeks at a time on backwoods roads where there are few events, but I want to capture anyone messing with the vehicle. So what is the best practice. a) Just leave in motion activation mode since there will be few events, b) set to ignore motion, but set impact sensitivity to high so it would activate if someone pulls on the door handle, or c) something else?
what yiu have? and does the dash cam work when not connected to wifi
Is there any dash cam that has the parking mode built-in? So you don't have to hotwire your car or get a battery pack.
Most cars don't have cigarette lighter outlets, nor usb ports which provide power while the car is off. This is to prevent your car battery from draining while you have stuff left plugged in. If your car does have a USB port or outlet which provides power while off, then you can use that for parking mode. Otherwise you have to hardwire it.
Parking mode is 'built in' to many dash cams however they need a power source as most dash cams do not hold battery on their own. That is why it is recommended to either hardwire or use a battery pack so that the car battery is not drained whilst the engine is switched off. Hopefully this cleared things up for you and if you have any other questions feel free to reach out to us 😊
Do you get an insurance discount if you have that extra protection?
Some do, some don't. You'll have to speak to your insurance provider to confirm.
