Thaliastraße is one of the most popular shopping streets in Ottakring and offers residents everything they need for daily shopping. It is approx. 2.8 km long and is currently being rebuilt. The city wants to make the street more attractive. Fewer cars, less parking, more space for pedestrians. The renovation is being carried out in several construction phases. While the front area near the Gürtel has already been completed, the rear area on the outskirts of the city is still being completed.

Hallo danke fürs mitnehmen. Ich habe mich dabei gemütlich auf dem Sofa zurück gelehnt. Sehr entspannend. In dem Blumengeschäft sowie in einigen anderen Geschäften wäre ich gerne mal reingegangen. Mir fällt auf, daß die Straßen so sauber sind, hier bei uns lässt Jeder schmeiss bei uns alles runter, wo man geht oder steht. Viele Grüße

I had to laugh when i read ,most popular shopping street. Yes it was in the past. Even popular high middle class shops such as ,Fürnkranz' were located here. Now its full of handyshops, Barbars, Döner Kebap Shops and 1€ shops. Nope its not a shopping street as you name it because most companies here closed their shops already and moved. The cities attempt to attract new companies to settle doenst work, since the people who live there dont earn much

Verstehe das mit dem Strassenbelag nicht. 3m Steinpflaster, dann 5m Asphalt, dann 5m Steinpflaster, dann 2m Asphalt und so die ganze Zeit, abwechselnd. Hat das Geld nicht ausgereicht? Sieht ziemlich bescheuert aus…
Auf was du alles achtest, mit ist das gar nicht aufgefallen 😄
@@anbax tja, find ich ziemlich irritierend. Vor allem, da die später unterschiedlich schnell altern… Das heisst, die Asphaltabschnitte müssen dann geflickt werden, das sieht erst recht bescheuert aus… Gerade, wenn man alles neu gemacht hat - warum zum Teufel nicht gleich einheitlich? Manche Sachen, die in Wien passieren, werde ich wohl nie verstehen, obwohl ich die Stadt liebe. Was das mit dem Abschnitt ab 15:57 bedeutet, verstehe ich schon gar nicht. Plötzlich einige zehn Meter alten hässlichen geflickten Asphalts mitten im bereits ‚renovierten‘ Teilstück… Da wird ja nichts weiter gemacht, es bleibt so… Sieht so aus, als wäre dieses „Projekt“ eigentlich allen egal. Wie es aussehen kann wenn‘s wirklich was werden soll, sieht man an der Neubaugasse.
Das ist die SPÖ Stadtgestaltung seit Häupl. Schade um zilk. Das war noch ein aufrechter Sozialdemokrat der die Stadt liebte. Heute sind es verwaltende Kommunisten.

If there is no directtrain you can also take the cat (airporttrain ) to Wien Mitte/Landstraße and than chance to U3 (directon Ottakring) to westbahnhof.
