Put the Mac mini Board into the G4 Case. Will be great!

How do you like the GPU of the new Mac mini?
I saw you use Final Cut and iMovie. Is it able to keep up with Timeline skimming and preview when you use a bunch of effects on 1080p 60 or 4k 30?

As far as I can tell it's way faster than on the Cube. This 4K video was rendered in about 3:45, so almost 2x real time speed.

@@TheDIYGuy999 Ok that seems pretty decent compared to it's size. Thanks for the info :-)

Happy 4 you. But 2TB is overkill, especially since you will most definitely upgrade to the next generation, since it'll bring big advancements, both in speed as well as in I/O. 1TB would suffice until that upgrade ;)
That being said, I'm looking forward to the content you'll produce with it. :)
    BTW, those USB-C ports on M1 Mini are NOT Thunderbolt 4! They're USB-C 4.0, basically Thunderbolt 3.

It depends on what it's used for, currently about 1TB is already used. I like to have all my stuff together on one drive an then to have multiple external drives for alternating Time Machine backups.
Yes, TB4 is wrong, thanks for the hint

Hi, nice video, thank you for sharing. I also own a mac cube, but during the last teardown I got confused.
I have a problem with the screws that secure the handle that allows you to pull the mac out of the case.
There are 4 screws, 2 on each side of the handle, the 2 screws on left side are under the hard disk and airport cable, the 2 screws on right side are easily accessible.
My questions: are the 2 screws on the right side different from 2 on the left side, or are the 2 screws on each side different?
4 identical screw or, two pairs of screws?
    thank you very much.
    Sorry for my English.

You should stuff an M1 Mac Mini inside the G4 Cube. There's a few people that have already done it. I haven't seen it done yet, but I say remove the DVD drive and stuff an OWC Express 4M2 RAID drive for up to 32TB of storage.

You are really successful. Can you upload the audio files from your mustang project again?

Id like to have at least a m1 mid-end mac mini... Not that i dont have money, i just dont have enough money to use in it since im a kid and were currently building another house in top of ours here... (Common in brazil.) The real problem is: its SUPER overpriced. Its over R$5k! (~$1000) i really hope prices get down.

    • @TheDIYGuy999

The base model is around 700$. An Open Core bootloader based Hackintosh may be the better option for you. I just recently built two of them and they are running absolutely flawlessly.

@@TheDIYGuy999 oh, ok! i'll consider doing it... i guess it cant be perfect as i have an 2nd gen core i3 with an 4GB GTX 960, bbut i tried once with HS and it also worked flawlessly... ANY computer is kinda overpriced for us now, but dad just bought a new one, so...
btw it's like, literally overpriced, the base model is ~$699 and so it'd be R$4k96 but it's HIGH over it... R$8K!?!?
      (~US$4000)
