Dusty was obviously in a lot of pain here. He told to the band to continue on without him. He still leaned on that bass amp and took one last ride as he wailed vocals about going out and looking for some Tush. That is hands down, the most rock n roll shit ever.

Saw em numerous times in the 80's and 90's in Texas. I now live in Louisville, and last saw them at the Palace Theater in 2017. They never failed to deliver the goods, always entertained as only they can. I passed on this show because I'm older, lol...and hate going to shows on a night where I must be up early for work the next day. If I only knew it would be his last, I would've been there. Very sad. He passed away just a few days later. It is a good way to go. Being able to work, to be productive, to have a reason to get up in the morning, up until the end of your life, is a huge blessing. It is much better than lingering for years with an illness, being immobilized, suffering, for a long extended period.
He did well. He had a great life, added a lot of value to millions of people, and did not have a long period of suffering when his time came. I bet his friends and family are very cognizant of that, and grateful, while wishing he was still alive. 72yo is very young to pass these days. But touring for 50 years, my god, the wear and tear on the body, and the stress. If you notice, a lot of performers do not have long life spans.

Every Friday evening in our late teens during the latter part of the 70s my two mates and I would travel by train to the city centre to go pub crawlling. From Central Station we 'd catch a bus to the furtherest city pub about 3ks away. Between there and back to the station there was a pub on average about every 120 metres. We always carried with us a large getto blaster. We only ever had the one casette playing non-stop, The Best of ZZ Top. We only ever stayed for one drink before moving to the next pub. All the pubs were okay for us to play our music, one bikie pub would tell us to turn it up louder. We also left a calling card on the seats; They were a cut out photos from playboy mags. On one occasion at a new Punk bar, while the bands were changing over, we planted the blaster in the middle of the cleared dance floor and we rock and rolled. The venue people weren't too happy. Told us they don't like that sort of music. Vale Dusty Hill.
