That is the most gorgeous rust free undercarriage on an avalanche I've ever seen for a first gen.
Excellent instructional video. Great camera work, nice explanation. Better than the other videos I watched. Thanks man!
Thank you🙂 i really appreciate it
@@backyardchevy328 I just finished the job…. I got way more dirty than you did. But I did leave the wheels on like in your video. That saved me that additional step. Now it’s off to get gas for a shake-down run. My kid is driving it 300 miles tomorrow. It should behave way better on the highway.
@@fatboyrowing that's awesome...great job🙂👍

Thank you🙂
Loved the attention to detail, camera on the work performed and the detailed description of tools and sizes used.
Question...?
You didn't need to remove the tire?
so thats what a chevy looks like without rot or rust
Yea lol ive gotten a few comments on the fuel pump video i did too...those areas where it snows really takes a toll on the frames.
This is the best video for this i have seen.
Thank you🙂 i really appreciate it
@@backyardchevy328 also, I just did mine last night. Thanks
@@EVM1978 thats great! Great job🙂👍
Great video looks like you didn't even have to lift the vehicle.👍
Thank you🙂 yea, didn't have to lift it
buen video!!!
si pueden mas adelante enseñarme como cambiar el filtro de aire acindicionado en una silverado 2013.... se los agradesco!!
he aprendido muchi con uds!!!
saludos desde chile!!!
Muchas gracias🙂 si, lo hare no mas que me toque arreglar una troca del año parecido.
Oh perfect thanks. Exactly what i was looking for. Looks fairly easy. Just waiting on my shocks to arrive from rockauto
Thats awesome👍 yea it is pretty easy..hope all goes well when u get em
My lower bolts were put in the other way around...as in the head of the bolt was by the wheel. Mechanic did that last time. Does it matter? Could barely get a ratchet in there
It doesnt matter..itll do the job either way but yea u may encounter difficulties the other way
No jack stands, no lifting. Nice!!!
Yea it definitely saves a lot of time🙂
@@backyardchevy328 what is the proper air pressure on the front tires.
@@CC-jt4tv 33 psi
So I can take the shocks off with out taking tires off or jacking the truck up ??
So just wondering is this safe without jacking up the vehicle does it put any stress on other suspension?
Yes its safe to do so..since its just a shock absorber the spring is what will carry and hold the weight of the truck..the shock absorber is just meant to absorb the springs motion..but being thats its standing still theres no spring motion
Quick question? You never raised the truck off the ground to change them?
No, i did it while it was on the ground
Do you have to use a jack
No, it can be done without, just gives u more room to work with and for recording i needed the extra space
Is it ok to lift the rear when doing this? My big butt won't fit under there like that, LOL! Also, it seems like you are using a regular shock instead of the premium ride or nivomat shocks, did you already do the spring swap in order to use those?
Yes, i would just place the jackstands on the axle tubes so the rear axle doesnt drop down any when u remove the shock(if left hanging in air)...yea the springs are still the originals.
@@backyardchevy328 I was told to replace the springs with these Bilsteins when using the Bilstein 5100s. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004WO6HPW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hola donde puedo conseguir unos de esos
Los amortiguadores? Esos los compre de la auto partes autozone
Fuck yea now I don't gotta pay nobody, ridiculous how easy it is and I thought it was more work..😆thanks
Lol yea the rears are quite easy..the fronts a lil more work but still not that bad..but thats awesome that u get to save money🙂👍
@@backyardchevy328 hell yea appreciate you
So no jack stands needed right?I can just take them off like that??I'm about to do it right now
@@jonz2989 no, not if u dont lift it..the spring is what holds the weight of the truck, the shock absorber just absorbs and dampens the movement of the spring
@@backyardchevy328 ok Badass.time to get to work.thanks
What does that mean am i supposed to tighten it that much or what ?70ft lbs torque?
Yes if u use a torque wrench set it that tight
@@backyardchevy328 what if i dont use one how can i do that?
@@hernandez-tech6434 well id just say if u can get an idea of how much effort it took to loosen bolt..tighten em about the same
@@backyardchevy328 ok thanks
I find the driver side. Way more difficult lol😢
