Poor Hubert Sumlin... He’s playing some of THE baddest guitar for that time in this song and the jackass camera man doesn’t show him AT ALL! Great Upload Sir!
@@tiffanyhall4978 Surprisingly, there’s very little information or anything out there on Hubert unless you look for it of course. What movie are you asking about?
ProphetsBourne lol....I believe the movie was related to these to.... he was a part of a band, but he tried to leave ((howlin wolf)) .....a fight breaks out and he’s like STEAL HIM FROM ME AGAIN .....👀 the whole club was shook .....he wasn’t playing nope not at ALLLL!!!!
ProphetsBourne I thought the movie was in reference to Cadillac records.... but it was the scene when he paid Hubert double to play for his band, but when wolf found out he was not happy.....
You can see Hubert on the extreme right through the first half of the video. There's a longer version of this [I think this has been cut down from the original].
Pure raw blues by the best pure blues singer ever. Great piano by Sunnyland Slim--direct simple guitar licks by Hubert (or was is a young Buddy? can't tell). What a powerful performance.
Anyone got a good bead on lyrics for this specific version? Couple of stanzas I want to confirm, and other searches vary. This one right here is special
Guitar genius was Hubert Sumlin. Sadly, you can't see him in this version of the vid. (There used to be another version on CZcams which was taken down for copyright reasons - same performance, different camera angles, and you could see all the musicians.)
Kenya Nkhrumah Hello, I hope that after many years you found the correct record. However if you haven't I found a version of this song in this album: CHRIS BARBER PRESENTS THE BLUES LEGACY: LOST AND FOUND SERIES VOLUME 3. The song is in that album, I am more than glad to help you in case you need more help although after many years I really hope you found it.
Love this classic performance! When and where was it televised? I put this one and Stevie Ray's cover in my Vaughan playlist. Thanks for uploading this rarity!
I love howlin wolf's delivery to the song absolute genius
That's some of the finest guitar playing I've heard.

You can see snatches of Hubert for a few frames from 0.42 onwards - but not enough !
Does anyone have the original studio version? Would be happy if you would post. Thanking you in advance.
