this is what most novice self-learners are missing, a curriculum like structure that lays down free paths of what skills to learn first then where to go next and so on.
i wish someone made this years years back when i was just starting.
never too late though. would be taking it
I think 3D is marathon not a 100 meters run, the corpus of knowledge required is overwhelming, even the softwares are endless: blender, substance painter substance designer, Photoshop, marmoset, unreal, after effects, z brush and so on (in only learned a bunch of them). Only texturing and modelling confidently takes on average a couple of years, probably more, topology, post processing, uv unwrap, and all the little tricks you learn on the way are tedious to learn. The best advice would be: find a tutorial that shows a great final result and someone who is able to teach you something in a productive way. The variables are too many, a beginner doesn't even have an eye yet to understand what can be improved (maybe in his mind, light, modelling composition, materials, etc, are fine when, in reality, are terrible, I've experienced rhat myself). That said the learning curve is incredibly slow, probably there are out there some prodigy, a 3d Mozart, but in general people approaching 3D should be ready to suck for a long long time before achieving an half decent result. A lot of guys say that 3 years is the magic number, after 3 long years you start to consistently produce something acceptable (generally not great a 6 or 6.5 out of 10). I've never seen a beginner making great stuff after a couple of months, not even once. It's a marathon guys.
100% Agreed! Thank you for bringing this up. There are intricate details to every little thing in 3D with multiple levels. Takes time to train the eye as well. Practice makes perfect (if there is any such thing in 3D) 😄. The books that I mentioned, do a great job in training the mindset.
And on top of all this, let's not forget all the things you need to learn to actually make good art with these amazing tools...composition, tone, light, form, color, etc etc...
This is absolutely phenomenal! As a beginner who’s been jumping on and off different tutorials/courses this is a hidden gem. Thank you so much for putting all of these resources together in this Ultimate Blender Quest!
I want to embark on this quest now! 😮
Masha Allah. Thanks a lot bro. As of now. I’m stuck, don’t know which path to take in the 3d space. I have most of the basics down. But still.
Very interesting 👍
"Check your Spec PC/Laptop before download" Beginners tips
This is what I've been looking for, I was just about to knuckle down and try to actually learning Vfx/Blender and you have literally made me a curriculum to help guide me 😅.
Absolute legend
Can i ask what made make a video like this ?
Thank you. My own struggles and woes during the early days! 😄
The roadmap you offered is a gold mine. I am at the beginning stage with Donut from which i will proceed to Crossmind studio and finally CGboost. Thank you. I have sign up. How do I get the PDF
Thank you. The pdf should be in your inbox automatically.
I got it. I love you works on Instagram and CZcams. I will follow the guidance so I can match up with you advance tutorial.
Thank you for the roadmap
Sad to be in a time were AI bypasses all these steps. very demotivating to begin the quest.
Is it worth it tho? isn't 3D market overly saturated and the demand for 3D artist slowly dying? because that's what I get everywhere I look, I planned to start learning because it interested me so much but... if I'll have no future with it... what's the point? learning it as a hobby would take years to reach a mid level, So I wanted to go all in and learn it full time, to make a career out of it but... is that even possible?.... who can I ask about this?
What's the game shown in this video?
