- "Midnight at the Oasis" was made famous in 1973 by Maria Muldaur. The song was written by David Nichtern. A music review describes the song as so sensual and evocative that it has inspired many sexual encounters, loss of virginity, and pregnancy. The lyrics describe a desert (Arabian) love affair in a fantasy setting. The song has been covered by a multitude of artists - one of my favorites is by jazz guitarist Martin Taylor. My version is modeled after his splendid rendition and attempts to capture the essence in a trio format.

Good vibe.
Appreciate that, Edward
Good Morning Daniel,
Sounds like you have hacked into our playlist again! This is a great tune and one which became a firm favourite for Anne and me. I will of course have to now have to seek out the Martin Taylor version.
I love the jazz feel of your version and the lovely little runs on the lead guitar are a delight. I got just a hint of "Weather Report" in the guitar sound.
Good news from home, not about the weather as it is still "Heavy Weather" here with more rain forecast for the Easter Break. Certainly no camels here!
The good news is that the laminectomy appears to have been a success and my dear wife is able to move around better than she has done for years. In fact she cooking a Good Friday lunch for the family. Very traditional English roast beef as treat for us all.
Have a great Easter Dan, please keep these gems coming and don't eat too many chocolate eggs or Simnel cake!
Keep Safe and please Keep Playing
Clive
Thanks Clive,
I didn't know what kind of sound would be made by this instrument combination. Now that I hear it (without struggling to get the notes correctly) it seems your observation is the best - Weather Report influenced. They always were amazingly great.
Glad to hear the laminectomy went well!
You are a true master.
Thank you so much for listening
Beautiful! Somehow I don't really recognize it but I like it.
Glad you like it!
