Back around 2018 or so, ISO headlamp to back my regular hand-held EDC & came across this torch. At that time, worked as in-house condo security working 2200-0600 shift & there were some on-property spots rhat were dimly-lit the pitch black! Being that there's homeless people in the surrounding area only posed another problem. Wizard C2 evened out the playing field! FFWD 3-4 years & am currently "enjoying" medically mandated "retirement" & Wizard C2 is now my primary torch on occasional night E-bike rides & have had No problems w/being noticed/seen by motorists/pedestrians. Enjoy your video... A-l-o-h-a from Hawaii
Thanks Harry, it really is a solid dependable torch. I hope you are enjoying your retirement and that your health is OK
I remember those old torches well. As kids we used to go rummaging on Salisbury Plain after exercises to see what was left behind. We often found those torches.
Yes they were used by the Army, not very bright though
New battery and led light technology is mind boggling. Who would have ever thought that it would ever be possible to possess such an instrument that would create such a massive amount of light and still be small enough to fit in your pocket or hang from a strap around your head? And be so durable and weatherproof I might add. Thank you Sandy for showing this item to us and giving your thoughts on it. See you on the next one my friend.
This is why I’m a flashoholic
Great detailed review my friend. I found a, gently 'pre enjoyed', one on line for $90cad. I have dabbled with cheap AA battery units, now I will be properly set. What is it about that accent that is so easy to listen to. I had a grandfather who lived in Edmondsham in 1569. You get the well deserved 'Like'. In Ontario, Canada, take good care...
My dad got me that green torch when I was a kid, the intermediate position allows the user to send signals in Morse code using a short or long press on the button (one of my dad’s previous jobs was a Class 1 radio operator for the P&O shipping line sending messages at 25wpm in Morse - 1st job 5th RTR tank driver, 2nd job REME tank mechanic, 3rd job P&O radio operator, 4th job commercial airline pilot).
I’m currently using a Petzl Bindi head torch 200 lumens, nowhere near the power of the wizard, but torches are horses for courses etc.
I have to admit every time you used your hand to show the brightness in the wood I was expecting a ‘hand animal’ to appear 😂😂
Those torches are brillient. They are ususualy a lot brighter than the owners. !
Yes this is quite true in many cases
But not this owner! 😉
Sounds like the voice of experience...
Some things have changed for the better, looks like a great product.
Thanks for showing us Sandy.👍
Brilliant torch.
Hi Sandy.
Got my torch today. It's amazing and nice quality. This will come in very handy on these dark nights, at camp and walks out.
Thank you for the discount too!
See you on the next vid. Thanks.
Its a good torch Jonathan, I use mine a lot. Going to be very handy on dark Winter nights
@WiltshireMan Definitely Andy. You pay a little more but are worth it. See you on the next adventure, mate. 👍
Brilliant bit of kit. I could use that in the garage for working on my bike
It would certainly do that OK Oscar
It's wonderful out at night around stonehenge looking up at the stars until the dog walkers turn up with there glaring head torches, light pollution. .
When I lived on a site on exmoor there was a rule of no outside lighting and you soon realised why , darkness has beauty unlike headtorches. .
What a great bit of kit. And not a bad price either.
It looks very well made and long battery life
Thank you for sharing your video! Looks like a real nice flashlight, Sandy. Thank you for your review. Cheers!
Thanks Dan, your welcome
@@WiltshireMan You're very welcome!
Great video! I was thinking of buying the Lumonite Compass V7, but I think I’ll try this one out aswell
Good looking light Sandy.
Thanks Jim, it's a great bit of kit:)
Nice one! I have 2 torches in front of me (1 rechargeable, 1 batteries). Both are good and have had them for years, but yours have these 2 in one torch. Need to make a decision :)
Stay safe and healthy!
Not cheap Dan but a good torch, built in Germany too
So much better than the stuff we used to use - and last a week between charges!
Yes, when we look back to what we had you can really appreciate how tech has moved on, in many ways for the better, certainly so with torches anyway:)
The old Swindon to Highworth branch line I presume? Great torch.
That was it Mark, it haunted now you know...Haunted by a Wiltshire Man wearing a head torch
I misplaced my rechargeable Ledlenser head torch, so have just bought a Sofirn HS20. Not too expensive and has both flood and spot LEDs, so it gets around the problem of blinding fellow campers. If I was a bit tidier, I wouldn't have lost the Ledlenser; since re-discovered. 😀
Ah welldone of finding the old torch Steve. Having the flood or spot option is a real bonus too
A yellow Torch rather than black are less easy to loose George
Incredible piece of kit Sandy -I don't like to venture out into wild areas in the dark-I may now try ?
I see this is a review channel now
I imagine there is quite a heat sink inside on the LED module for 4000 lumens. Does the flashlight body get hot?
Worth paying for quality, always had led lenser & they’re brilliant. Wait for the sales & grab a quality bargain 👍👌
Boy Sandy, You could blind Bigfoot with that 4k setting and confuse him with the strobe.
A great lite.
I think the higher power settings are good if you want to flood an area with light for a short amount of time just to get a better idea of your surroundings, but certainly not stealthy.
Hello Sandy from Idaho, USA. Love this little video. You give a great demonstration and do the company proud! The turbo modes were legit and illuminated very well. Lovely piano music playing in the back ground, whose playing? Thanks
Hi Chris,
I don't know who was playing the piano but it was a track free to download from the CZcams audio library, just a nice piece of background music
I remember your old torch as I used to have one in my younger days. They certainly don't make torches like they used to but I suppose technology and time move on.
I'm very fond of my old torch, I've had it for decades, but I'm glad things have moved on a bit too :)
I would use the high settings for bike riding
Hi Donna, I wouldn't recommend using it that way unless off road as it would definitely dazzle oncoming vehicles
Yes I agree I meant off road on mountain bike 👍
Is this Wiltshire man channel or QVC
Amazing torch for such a small device. But not cheap. I guess you get what you pay for. Does it have a power/battery level indicator on it?
Ah, good question, I'm not sure. I have a feeling it does
I thought that had a green light too or is that a different model ?
I'm not aware you can change the colour, if so that would be great
@@WiltshireManThe armytek wizard C2 WG magnet usb is the one with a green light.
And in response to the person who thinks the price is too much; I live in a boat and a good torch is a life saver.
My hate about torches. Is they are black. If not switch on and dropped in long grass or river. Bugger to find. Why not bright yellow body. George
Awesome torch but I miss a red light
Thats a valid point, a red light is very useful to preserve night vision and to be stealthy
Absolutely
Sandy, not a crit but an observation. Anybody who pays £125 for a torch needs to give their head a wobble.
Don't forget Henry when you need a torch and havn't got one then they become priceless:)
I hear you Sandy, but, come on, that's an awful lot of money for a torch. No fibbing, would you pay that?
@@henryporter5466 I've been known to pay more for a bike saddle in the past, so yes I would. But only if I could afford it!
Wobble followed up by a shake lol
10 year warranty that's pretty good for £125 I've had loads papped out 1 year! £15/50 :-(
I have one of these and a couple of other Armytek products, they are bullet proof really, not the brightest and very floody but you can reply on these torches. I froze mine and all sorts.
Yes they are very floody, I know what you mean there
That's a beast of a torch. Loved having a look at your old torch. I had a similar one with the button. I know you're very fluent at Morse code. Have you ever tried deciphering Morse code sent with signal lights?
Hi Rob, it's a slightly different skill set to read light flashes but it wouldn't take me long to pick it up
@@WiltshireMan I wondered if it would be a different skill. I probably watched too many old war films. Looking through a periscope and being signalled.
Hah. Those old army surplus torches (o: Pretty dim, by today’s standards. Of course, it wasn’t as dark in the old days!
I dont know why they always put a magnetic base on these torches, how many people would actually need this, poeple dont try and fix there cars these day's.i removed the one from my head torch so i didn't have to worry about it affecting my compass when in my rucksack.
Thats a valid point about the magnetic base and compasses
Nice bit of kit but too many modes I feel, keep it simple.
Simple is always good
Hi Sandy, 10 setting configuration's is a bit too much really for an average persons usage, a decent Petzl head torch of around 350 lumens is certainly more than enough for most, coupled with the Petzl rechargeable battery and it's a game changer, 3 white light modes plus 1 red light, perfect for most needs, plus £125 ! wow, Petzl wins hands down all day long. All the best to you and Mandy.
Wow, it's far too expensive, £125.00 for a head torch 😮, and definitely NOT worth the money.🔦
Some will agree and some will disagree, I'm easy with both but if it's in someone's budget then they'll be getting a great torch, thats for sure
@WiltshireMan My husband said is there any chance you could do a video on your ham radio? As he's in to CBs. Thank you. 😍
Very pricey, have been using a LUCEC rechargeable head torch for a couple of years now, fantastic bit of kit, and was less than a tenner from screwfix.
That was cheap:)
