I’m going to be honest: I don’t think Jeff Flake is the Republican challenger who can take down Trump, and I think he knows it. Good for him for having the wisdom to do what is right for him. Unlike Trump, most people who run for office understand that the presidency is a commitment to the welfare American people and a huge responsibility on the world stage. If Flake doesn’t want that responsibility, he is wise not to run.

It's disappointing to see the dismissal of Ojeda, even to the point of mis-speaking his name (the J is strong, not soft). He was a fine candidate with a lot of the right ideas. And the reason he dropped out was not like Flake in that he was too cowardly, but because he accepted that without the big money and mainstream media coverage it's pretty much a lost cause, and he didn't want people wasting their money donating to him all for nothing.
In a way I suppose it's poetic when you consider that the lack of media coverage for any of his ideas was a primary concern, and then a supposedly left-leaning progressive talk show dumps all over him without mentioning any of his ideas and laughing at how nobody even knew who he was. And then we wonder why the system's so borked up.
At least the egotistical billionaire got called out for what he is.

IMO, this is the danger of the rise in status of comedians as political commentators after/during the Trump election. Steven Colbert did the same with Tulsi Gabbard and before that John Oliver bashed Gill Stein. These comedians don't go deep into the real political issues at all, but just point out the ridiculous and funny aspects of politics.

@Harjeevan Kalra I agree with you, that's why their changed status is troubling, they should just be perceived as comedians, but now in many cases, public opinion on politics is formed by these comedians. It's not their fault btw, media that is supposed to give proper commentary fails to do so.

I would take four more years of Trump, if it meant that the two parties didn't have complete control in future, and had to actually pay attention to outside challengers.
Best thing Schultz could do? Drop out in return for a promise of STV voting. Then run again in 2024, when the Democrats have either broken their promise, or got rid of the big reason not to vote 3rd party.

This clip perfectly summarizes the underlying problems with the Daily Show's humor. The reason why Ojeda dropped has been explained by many people already. The same thing happened in 2016 when the Daily Show's writers were clearly Clinton supporters that did everything they could to dismiss Sanders and his supporters as a serious candidate. And there is no evidence that a third party candidate has ever spoiled the election for a Democrat. If you actually do the numbers and not just make rhetorical claims, the data doesn't prove that this has ever happened. It is just a complaint that establishment Democrats make to try to guilty people into voting for someone who fails to motivate them.

I will miss Trump once he resigned, he should have been a clown what a missed opportunity.

I really can't understand how someone that Twitters like Trump does can be a president.. And that's only his Twitter-talk -__-

your bias is toxic.....what happened to the right to choose for yourself who is worthy of your vote regardless of party lines but based on merit. Schultz is doing nothing wrong

This guy is exactly what is wrong with US. Richard stepped down because he knew that corruption will make it impossible for him to win and he didn't want people to waste his money. This clown, who steals jokes from other comedians, has no balls to improve anything in HIS OWN COUNTRY and he tries to berate people who has more balls than he will ever have. Good job lol.
