I feel like the last movie was a perfect ending , but if there is a fourth one I hope it’s a backstory or at least not set in the far far future like the nine realms.
And a fifth one that is all about dragons and Berk members preparing for a wedding where the groom (around the same age as Hiccup in How to Train Your Dragon 2 & 3) is Nuffnik and the other groom is… well, let’s just not spoil the mystery of whom he may be, except for one thing. Like his future family-in-law (husband: Nuffnik. father in law: Hiccup. Mother in law: Astrid Hofferson. Paternal uncle in law figure: Toothless. Paternal cousin in law figures: The children of Toothless and Night Fury. Sister in law: Zephyr. Sisters: TBA Biological sons: TBA), he’s a dragon rider!
Also if it is a nine realm movie. Then it should not be called httyd 4. The nine realms are completely different

Honestly, the ending made me so sad, but yes it was a fitting ending for the movie. Yeah, the nine realms series was decent, I guess. It moves to slow and there’s some contradictions w/ the movies and series.its just not great.
I swear if DreamWorks actually releases another one, I will be very surprised and excited. especially because I'm not sure exactly where you can go after being separated from the dragons, now it would be cool if, like after her millions of years, we see the descendants of hiccup finally convince the entire world that we can get along with dragons

I mean 1 dude killing all night furies, I believe maybe they could’ve gone close to extinction level numbers but they must’ve fled, which is how a Night Fury would’ve ended up in one of the coldest regions when they need heat, (as shown in Race to the Edge whenever toothless goes to sleep he warms up his little makeshift bed he sleeps in with his dragon fire)
One thing you need to note is that Dean DeBlois said in multiple interviews that HTTYD was going to be mainly a movie trilogy, and that The Hidden World was the last movie instalment, mainly since he and most of who worked on it wanted a satisfying ending to the main story which wouldn’t be milked further.
This is also likely why Dreamworks have continued HTTYD with The Nine Realms, a show set over a millennium ahead of the rest of HTTYD. Be it that’s it’s written in contractual agreement, or simply on good sentiments, it seems Dreamworks is sticking to Dean’s wishes by not continuing the main story, or putting out anymore feature movies for the franchise.
Likely the only way a 4th movie could come is if both Dreamworks and Dean went back on this decision, but even if they did, we’re likely talking years ahead given the massive projects the studio’s working on, not to mention Kung Fu Panda 4 which has already recently taken HTTYD’s title as the most anticipated property by Dreamworks.
In short, never say never, but we got a solid answer a long time ago that there wouldn’t ever be a 4th movie coming, so I wouldn’t hang on too tight.

I was a good ending although bittersweet as they parted. I personally feel that if a 4th movie came out, it might ruin it all. I am glad the studio isn't trying to milk out this series further.
But I still want to think we get the 4th film I NEED HTTYD IN MY LIFE
@@megan5806 Never say never; Kung Fu Panda got the 4th movie announced a couple of months ago, which is about 6 years after the last movie. Given how HTTYD’s DreamWork’s biggest franchise, they won’t give up on it, as shown with how they’re still producing The Nine Realms.
Then again, don’t keep hope, since frankly there’s an even bigger chance of HTTYD never getting any more feature films again.

I feel the best way they could do the movie without making it feel off or make it less ee is making this movie a backstory. Think of it. The movie would follow the life of toothless and hiccup before they meet. Possibly teaching us about toothless’s family and how hiccup was raised. I 5hink it would be a great idea to do i5 this way as if the story countinued I feel it would slowly destroy the fandom. What do you think of this idea and what do you think would happen in it?

Id love to see the 4th film focus on Hiccups mother, Valka. I think it'd be super interesting seeing how she came to the understanding that dragons aren't evil and how she aged with the Bewilderbeast
(No offence honest) I don’t think that Valka aged with the bewilderbeast because at the end of dragons: race to the edge valka took the bewilderbeast egg meaning (if he was about 18 at the end of the series) valka only had the bewilderbeast for about 2 years

Who knows it could’ve been the egg valka got. But even if it was the age gap is outta whack. Now I don’t know how fast dragons can age or now big a newborn Bewilderbeast can get, but judging from its size and intelligence, I can only assume that Valkas bewilderbeast is rather old ish. It’s hard to say though. I mean Valka did say Toothless was hiccups age, which meant that toothless was 14 yrs old when Hiccup found him. Soooo who really knows
To be honest how the hell does something like a bewilderbeast grow that fast?! but maybe the httyd creator will just yeet the timeline and pretend it took like years.
A few ideas for another movie:
Idea 1: like how Disney is now in the process of making live action films, the same could be done with this franchise I mean it's basically just Jurassic Park with wings set in the Viking era.
Idea 2: there could be a prequel exploring Toothless' life before he got shot down, it could show that he was part of a pack where his father was the leader and he the runt of the pack, then Grimmel shows up and makes things worse while Toothless escapes then encounters a Whispering Death then ends up working for the Red Death.
Idea 3: in this one it could be based around the Night Lights, in a way very similar to lion king.
Idea 4 (now this a big one): this could show a timeskip to Zephyr being 15 years old and Nuffink being 13 years old (still unclear on their ages), these two go on an adventure without their parents knowing and meet the Night Lights who also ho on an adventure without their parents knowing.
It's unclear whether Drago, Grimmel and the warlords died or not but it could be that the Night Lights and the kids lead to Berk thinking dragons returned, so then they prompt another war with them. Also it's revealed Grimmel has an army of Death Grippers who are bred to be immune to the Alpha's power.
Then a whole battle scene breaks out but the Death Grippers overpower the Berkians meaning the Warlords are going to win, but then Toothless returns along with an army of dragons from both the movies and tv shows who then decimate the Hunters. Every dragon shows off a unique ability while battling and even reunite with their old riders.
Once it's over and they've won they're forced to go through another farewell parting.

not exactly, rtte came out after httyd 2 and one thing that i remember that doesn’t make sense is that hiccup was surprised that there are other dragon riders except them while in rtte there were dragon hunters who also rode dragons or heather and dagur. it just doesn’t make sense

If they make a full-blown movie out of the Nine Realms... thing, like they did with the Spirit Riding Free thing, I swear I will hurl. I would love to see a movie with HicStrids kids and the Night Lights.
I swear, if I hear one more person putting hate on the nine realms, I will break that persons hand. Long story short if they did hiccups kids with the nightlights, then it would get boring, and the fandom would slowly but surely die off. And then dreams works will be like “it’s not making money, it’s not worth keeping it going”. Mostly because if dosent have a super twist, the nine realms has a huge twist, witch is it’s 1300 years in the future. So it made money. Don’t say that dream works shoulder care about the money. Because they need to, losing 300 million on something like that Is not worth it. Thank you.
@@external316 I’m sorry but I think that The Nine Realms is a bit of a letdown, as the characters didn’t feel the same as Hiccup and the gang. I don’t exactly hate it but me personally didn’t think it was as good as the HTTYD main movie trilogy.

There’s no confirmed plans for a fourth film, it’s all just speculation. However, considering the amount of money Dreamworks made off the original trilogy, I would be surprised if they don’t announce an upcoming prequel or sequel trilogy in the next few years.

I think the last movie should be about the humans and dragons becoming friends and allies. Having a common enemy, a Kraken with a hundred tentacles that can reach around the world attacking both of them. The Kraken destroys the dragon's home first, and all the dragons have to leave for the surface. Sure, at first they are still not friends there will still be people who hate dragons and dragons that hate the people. A sad point is Astrid loses her dragon Stormfly in battle in the middle of the movie and Light Fury saves Astrid. Astrid is devastated but Light Fury becomes her new friend dragon sooner or later. It takes both of them the Humans and Dragons to defeat the Kraken. When it is all done and the people get to the land, all the people look up at the dragons and kneel out of respect and appreciation. Then the humans help the dragons build a new home.
If they do expand on the franchise I was thinking maybe something like a race to the edge style show in between the 2nd and 3rd movie to show how Berk advanced and grew with all the new dragons and getting to see Valka more
If they did make a how to train your dragon 4 please make a backstory of toothless and his parents like him learning how to fly and his parents being murdered by grimmel and him being slave by the Red Death and toothless Nemesis how the rival really started and where it took place

Being honest, as much as i love this series so much, the story ended with 3 movie, making 4th movie will destroy its Perfect ending and will be a money grab, they already did it with the new show

Dreamworks could come up with a lot of interesting things for how to train a dragon, because there is still a series of 8 seasons and although berk sent dragons to freedom, but there are winged maidens with spikes and berserkers, they did not release their dragons and dragon defenders, they have dragons and they do not know that berk released dragons and they will love to bring them terrible mail or they will attach themselves and yes, the series and the cartoon are connected to each other, look at the end of season 8, there are 2 parts, so you can create another series or cartoon

as cool as it would be I don't think there should ever be a fourth film. I think it would get rid of what I think one of the things that makes httyd special which is that its a complete story and the 3 movies cover 3 lessons. 1 Finding yourself, 2 Growing up, 3 letting go. but also if it were something different, like a whole other story that has no connections with any of the characters in the past three movies and it not being a copy paste but with a different filter (exception having connections of that its about training dragons) then I think it would be a good idea. but other then that it would just feel like the studio trying to milk it dry.

I would love to see spin off prequel about toothless' backstory, where he was born, his childhood, his parents, the other night furies and before toothless met Hiccup and became his best friend, and a new series with hiccup and astrid's children as the main protagonists
An idea of the 4 movie: Grimmel and Drago return, and Nuffink and Zephyr have to gain the dragon’s trust so defeat them.
Sadly, iI don't think there will be another httyd movie. But I do think it would be cool to have another series like race to the edge but the timeline is either inbetween the 2nd and 3rd movie or whats happened after the 3rd move. Also, I really hope its not as bad as the Nine realms, that was disapionting.
What I want for a 4th movie is a toothless back story, like how he escaped from grimal the first time..
My theory is that he was just a hatchling when Grimal attacked and killed all the Nightfuries, including his parents.
So Toothless had set out to get revenge on Grimal and hunt him down all those years, but got distracted when he was shot down by Hiccup, and basically pick up on the first movie... Hiccup befriends Toothless to save both their worlds. So, really, just a short, like 30-40min mini movie about Toothless.
Since we know very little about the Nightfury as a species or even the Lightfury as a species.

I think it would be cool to see a moive from toothless perspective from him Being a baby to finding hiccup and learning what happed to his Species from his view
I hope they make a series either between the 2nd and 3rd movies or a series after homecoming until hiccup or toothless dies because it would add much needed context on the realms and that series may be half decent, or a series between the 3rd and homecoming with either toothless in the hidden world or with hiccup looking after his kids and how he deals with the village and being chief or switching between the 2 perspectives. However, they could go a different direction and do a series or a film based on the comics or based off of the back stories of the villains so we know why they are who they are, and would give a lot of context to the films themselves

I think what should happen is,something bad should happen and hiccup is still the lead and the dragons should come back to the humans for help and they should have the kids ride with them and hiccup and toothless save the day!
I don't want DreamWorks to touch how to train your dragon at all, if they're going to do anything do another TV show, similar to riders of Burke, covering the gap between the second movie and the third movie, just like the originals covered between the first and the second, characters the story from the TV show was amazing, so many different dragons were introduced, dagger story especially has to be one of my favorites, along with the love of hiccup and Astrid growing through the series, Vigo grimborn was a great villain, and love the twist at the end,
other than that don't touch the franchise, unless it's going to look exactly the same as the other films same voice actors, Right now this is a gem of cinema, I'm so happy Hollywood hasn't milked the crap out of it, and let it end properly

I disagree on the “perfection” everyone says the third movie was. I disapproved. I remember leaving the theater angry. It goes against everything hiccup and toothless’ friendship stood for.
I feel like DreamWorks chooses the wrong stories to continue. Like, personally I would much rather have seen a httyd 4 than a Shrek 5. Especially considering that httyd is ACTUALLY based on a preexisting book series. Yes the way the story ended in hidden world was good and satisfying but I wouldn't be upset with a 4th movie happening where hiccup and toothless have to come together again and their kids have to get involved. Just a thought.

I would like the 4th movie to be a remake, making it better, fixing all the mistakes.
My favorite idea would be for it to follow their kids, I'd love to see Zephyr and Nuffink go on adventures with the nightlights

I want the fourth film to be a prequel to Toothless, how he managed to survive all those dragon hunters that hunted his species to near extinction. How did his parents die? How did he find Berk? Etc, etc.
I'd make a time skip to this world's version of WW1-WW2. A child on the run from an oppressive regime discovers the Hidden World, and after several years returns to the surface to see what has happened. Seeing their nation completely under enemy occupation, they beg the dragons to help free his countrymen. However, the dragons refuse...until the regime discovers the hidden world themselves, and decides to kill and enslave all the dragons in the colony. At this, the dragons evacuate the Hidden World, and fly off in the direction they assume they might find friendly humans...Berk.
As it turns out, due to the island's natural geography, Berk was incredibly difficult to take by enemy forces, and had served as a last line of defense before the hostile regime was to enter free territory. However, rumors of an airship/battleship fleet have caused the moral of the inhabitants to sink to an all-time low, as much of the friendly air forces have been wiped out, and resupply has been cut off by enemy submarines.
Upon the arrival of the dragons, anti-air batteries spotted the dragons, but held their fire upon seeing a teenage boy riding the lead dragon. Legends among the townfolk about the dragons were brought up, thus the dragons were allowed to land. Upon realizing the true gravity of the situation, and now having their own beef with the hostile regime, the dragons defend Berk against a new era of warfare.
The dragons claim victory, but with extreme losses. Even though this fleet was destroyed, another was sure to come in time. Moral dropped again to an all-time low...but then hope came in the form of a captured enemy soldier. He gave intel that the regime ruled through fear, and that nobody truly liked its rulers. They were confident that, if certain people were assassinated, the regime would be no more and it could once again become a republic. He told of a big announcement that the leader was going to give, alongside all his subordinates. He had no idea what the announcement was going to be, but it sounded like there was something the scientists came up with that would 'end the war'. When the soldier was asked why he had chosen to defect, he said he was happy to see that the stories he had heard about dragons were true, and was upset he had found himself fighting against them.
So the dragons, the people of Berk, the Allied forces, and the defectors plotted to have their own version of Operation Valkyrie, called 'Operation Dragonsong'. However, while they knew the time and place, they knew not the details of the hostile leader's announcement, but they assumed it must be some kind of new weapon. As the plan was set into motion, it was realized that the weapon was a V2 rocket...something too fast for dragons, planes, or anti-aircraft to stop, and whose explosive potential could wipe Berk off the face of the map, causing the rest of the world to finally heel to their rule, using Berk as an example.
Though they managed to kill or capture the leaders of the hostile regime, the V2 rocket had already been set to fire at Berk, and managed to take off. In the end, Berk did get the message that the missile was incoming, but there wasn't enough time to evacuate everyone. So the defector soldier, an ace pilot, took one of the few planes remaining, and after being delayed by people accusing them of running, flew off to intercept the missile. It took all his training and determination to fly into the missile, destroying it, but also killing him in the process.
His heroics ensured his people would not be looked upon as evil, and the world could once again return to peace. Due to the involvement of dragons in the war, they became protected as endangered species, and were once again able to settle in the world alongside humanity. The dragons became a symbol of peace, and humanity swore to never engage in such great conflict ever again, for fear of losing more great wonders in the world...
The forth film should be the nine realms characters , because the series ended in nine realms with the mum finding out about dragons existing.
I would love to see the kids of Toothless and the kids of Hiccup grow up together.

The creators already said there won't be a fourth, which is a smart decision from the creators.
If they do make a 4th movie. It’d make sense to make it about Hiccups and Toothless’s kids. Maybe either set of kids is held for ransom by an evil Viking. If it was Toothless’s kids, he’d probably go to Hiccup to help him, and maybe Hiccups kids somehow get caught up in the adventure and help save the dragon babies. Or if it was Hiccups kids, maybe said evil Viking would force Hiccup to bring Toothless to him or else he’d kill his kids. Having no other choice, Hiccup would have to go and find Toothless along with Astrid and the others, and they create a plan. And just like Hiccups kids, Toothless’s kids get caught up in the story and help save Hiccups kids. Maybe in the 4th movie, if it’s Toothless’s kids being kidnapped, the Light Fury would of course play a huge role in the movie (being a protective mother and all), and finally give her a name.
But this just my input. It’s highly unlikely that DreamWorks would make a 4th movie after seeing the outcome of Nine Realms. Sadly, it’s not like they can erase Nine Realms from history and start anew. Though I wish that were possible. On the very low chance of there being a 4th movie, I know for a fact that this news would have fans roaring with excitement worldwide. It was dumb to ever think that HTTYD would become boring when there’s so much lore inside it and new mysteries everywhere. I do admit that it would have to come to an end one day, but I was hoping that that day wouldn’t be so soon.
DreamWorks; I for one absolutely adore the HTTYD series and all the joy and excitement it brought me. I remember watching the first movie and imagining myself riding Toothless or one of the other dragons. And over the years, that love grew and grew into something I now hold dear to my heart. No it utterly shattered me to find out that the dragon adventures were coming to a close. I thought about writing to you and begging you to continue HTTYD for a few more years. I regret not sending you a message, but o hope that all the love the HTTYD community has shown throughout the years is more then enough to prove to you that HTTYD isn’t something just anyone can get bored of easily. It’s something kids grew up watching, letting their imaginations grow, I for one know that my imagination has never ceased to expand from the very beginning of HTTYD the moment I could comprehend and say words. But even though I am saddened by the great loss myself and many others have suffered, I thank you for taking me on this wonderful journey. For allowing me to think of what people tell me is impossible and has never existed. Thank you for making HTTYD a reality for me.

You know, what if they made another trilogy of HTTYD but with a completely brand new character cast and the only thing that you would probably recognize is Berk. No characters from HTTYD 1,2, or 3. Every character is new. It could take place before HTTYD 1 or after HTTYD 3. Or maybe a completely different timeline altogether.
