I feel like to add real value to this game and its levels, the main category should be "reusable". As in the vehicles should be able to do the full trips over and over. So no one time flaps etc
At least make it a thing like without breaks.
So you can filter for non-single-use, and you get a warning when a bridge was single-use.
While at it, add a wobbly one. If the streets of a bridge move significantly outside a hydraulic phase, the bridge gets flagged as wobbly.
The problem with marking things as reusable is that it is difficult to determine what is or isn't reusable automatically
@@ryroller9394I think it would be pretty easy, the game could play the level (internally) a couple of times on the same bridge with next vehicle passes happening a randomised time in between. If a couple of waves pass you can tell it's not a timed cheese.
Old bridge building games, before this whole craze started, actually had more vehicles going both ways, sometimes multiple times. I guess some cheese was still possible, but at least in my memories it was all about building solid bridges, no jumping out dangling roads.
I... don't know what y'all are thinking. First of all, you can already play like that if you want to, and many people do. The leaderboards are for a competitive mode. That's their purpose. What do you reckon "reusable" adds to a competitive mode? There's already two variations of lowest budget and there is lowest stress.
On top of that, "reusability" MASSIVELY reduces design space for wacky hydraulic, gravity, and spring levels.
This other comment that other bridge games were less cheesy in their memory... my man... that's because there was no leaderboard people were competing on, looking for every smallest advantage they can find.
I really don't see why y'all think putting an arbitrary restriction on for everyone else to deal with, level-makers, devs, leaderboard chasers, all players, is going to make the game better to casually play. It will change literally nothing! Competitive players will still be competitive and non-leaderboard players will still do what they want, over-engineer or just complete the level or make a pretty bridge, but everyone has less freedom to play how they want.
I like your channel. Also, I don't play this game, but I feel like I am part of the RCE Cult of Engineers. I wish I was smart enough to make it to the most expensive gallery one day.

@@newp0rt The plural of sheep is something I would imagine British elementary school children learning, it really doesn't seem that specific for me. And if children would know this, you can assume someone with higher education like an engineer would too. But I guess I'm no native speaker, so I wouldn't really know.

Matt if you're reading he means that foundation (by height) is the same as two vertical steel, so it's better to raise the foundation rather than using steel
To be fair there are 3 levels in the entire game where the budget solve uses foundation and he's yet to arrive at the first. It's in this world though.

Hardly anyone would be able to use some bridges because they are all only made for specific vehicles with the exactly calculated load. Oh, and I guess most bridges would just fail at the slightest weathering, erosion or even gust of wind.
