- SUMI VILLAGE is one of the oldest village in NAGALAND it is also known as SWEMI village during British rule. ENO SUPU was the FATHER of SUMI people, the word SUMI itself comes from his name.
SUMI being one of the oldest village, the forefathers had given the names of other village according to the historical events, no name was given without a history. It is henceforth in this history the names and meanings are given according to the oral source told to the younger generation.
Very proud of the people of sumi village in the middle of chakesang area for still keeping mother tongue (nizatsa) alive.... Thank you all.. Proud to be sumi...
Warm wishes from SATAKHA
Me too I'm from thuvopisumi village phek and my ancestors say they came from ighanumi village in zuhehboto
Instead of seeing each other's as different it's high time we should consider and see each other's as blood brothers because it is the fact and with the help of modern education thanks to it that we are able to trace our true original origins.
I grew up around the people of chokri and i am amazed to learn that the language is very very related and similar it's just the way we construct the language which makes it different.
Long live to our people
Kati descendent here 🖐️ from Ighanumi village. Yes, We're one.
Many of us may not know the value of this clip....the importance of this kinds of videos is immense..
That means chakhesangs are more closely related to Sumis than any other tribe
Such a good documentary learning about our own history. Modern kids should watch this, cuz they are forgetting their own culture and the elders are more busy to tell the tales.
Thank you I now know about Sumi village history 👍😘
Worth watching your video only people of Pughoboto will understand the language..!
I'm not from Pughoboto, but I can understand too.
Background music should have stopped when the elders were telling the stories.
Background sound is louder than their voice
Right. Pretty annoying.
It's the signature thing for naga youtubers!
This is the reason why I don't subscribe to any CZcams channel...
@@theingenious8197...true
I could understand around 25% of what they're speaking. Is this a mixture of Sumi and Chekesang ( Kheza) dialect? Wow this is a great content. Thank you so much 👏
Its a treasure for our young generation to know about our own village...looking forward to see more ...great video.👍👍
Nighami iphonumi eno ighanumi panangu atsa kimihi ani ighono amulo kiqi shi ithulu ani alhou pelono ningu kumtsu lau kulakishi apeniu
I think this is the newer version or may be the other version of their migration route. Or else, I have seen Sumi Baptist Church Silver Jubilee Souvenir, probably written by the parents/grandparents of commentators/narrators in the video, that they migrated from Makhel (Mao) to Raimai (Ngari) village in Poumai land and then to present Sumi village 🙋🏻♂️
Majority of the present Nagaland state's grandparents/forefathers of the present generation claimed their migration route to Mao, Poumai & Maram villages. There are lots of stories where they came with gifts to build relationships with their ancestral villages. But lately, many wanted to end their tracing within their comfortable narratives.
Anyway, great to see such videos. It will benefit the younger generation alot.
Makhel is the only place mentioned that is in Manipur. The rest are in Nagaland. I've been to Ngari during our migration research, and it is true indeed that Ngari deserves a mention too. Ngari is the last settlement in present day Manipur, before we migrated into the hills of present day Nagaland.
Correct 👍👍
Nni sümi kewa.... Nni sümi kuhu aghu kewa 💙💙💙

It's a privilege to visit my ancestral place today. Learn so many historical facts, my great great forefathers historical places named after his name, his paddy field, his glorious lane where he goes to wage war, his bamboo field, and type of cotton that my ancestors used, Villagers speaking same dialect as we, and so many new things. I will come back again and with warm greetings from my people.
Thank you bro nice story.

Chakhesang are eastern angamis
They are mixture of Sangtam poumai Mao n sumi etc.
Sorry to say that the word 'Mi' is a Sumi word.
In Sumi means 'People'
@@toluvisumi4469 next don't claim Redmi is a Sümi brand too, because it has 'mi'. Such pathetic mindset.
@Lima Aier how did he disrespect
@@toluvisumi4469 same in zeliang we also say 'mi' specially liangmai speakers of nagaland.. In zeme dialect itz 'me'. Liangmai speakers of manipur use 'mai'.....
Good job bro👍. Next video on Khreo, Supu and Leo.

Nice bro....
It would be so nice if uh could do something or lower the background music next time.. Appreciated it..👍
Good story
The dialect resemble Khezha a lot. We can understand to a good extent. No doubt 1 to 10 in Sumi is the same with Khezha. Our elders used to say that when we go and establish new villages, the original accent gets modified. I am sure this is true because Chakhesang villages and their accents has small differences.
Ya our grandparents use to say that when one is about to move and establish a village they first develop a new language.
Becaz they migrated from khezhakeno village
Wow...
Good to see such a documentary..... How I wish I could know more details about Lokhomi(Khomi)
Being from Ighanumi Village I could understand 80% of their dialect. Wish to visit & get to know more about cultures.
Background music is so disturbance. When you are making videos like documentary don't put background music. In order to hear clearly.
👍👍

Please make videos on AWOMI clan and it's responsibilities during old days
Their Titles are different from General Sumi's. There are no Awomi title in SUMI Village, they are more related to Chakesang.

Q
Read my comment carefully and reply brother/aunty. I did not comment anything bad or unfounded but simply said "I CAN'T UNDERSTAND FULLY BUT CAN UNDERSTAND SOME WORDS BUT IT'S THERE IN COMMON LANGUAGE, TOO ".
Is OXONE needed here?
And don't you tell me what to read because I might be reading more than you.
Good history of sumi... All nagas are related..... Other nagas must tell the true history and not narrate stone origin or bird origin.... All must have human origin....👍 otherwise they may not be included in naga tribes if they claim fantastic origin story
God, bless you bro
Thank you brother
Kutsapo,k.khono, chepoketa and Mutsale .They do sumi dialect very fluently
Please repost without music back ground
