You make an interesting point. The NFL is always looking out for the next young OC or DC - the next McVay or Shanahan.
I think it also has to do with the fact that an NFL season is so much shorter than an NBA one. Like you said, one good playoff playoff performance can put you at the top of the list in an instant. The window of opportunity is smaller, but you can shine brighter.

The host dude Tyler said Giannis has been Giannis, but in fact he hasn't been. Giannis' defense has been his career worst. The defense was going to suffer from the trades, and that coupled with Giannis laxing was probably enough to trigger another unneeded coach change. And if Griffin said half a word to Giannis' on his lazy defense, that might've been a wrap for Griffin.

Love Sheed. Huge Pistons fan here (I know. I know.). During the pandemic I remember listening to Rip Hamilton on All the Smoke podcast talk about LeBron going off Game 5 ECF in 07. Hamilton said after the game that the guys decided (without Coach Flip’s approval; may Coach Flip Saunders RIP) to always double on LeBron for Game 6. Tough because Boobie Gibson had a game of his life especially in the 4th Quarter, but LeBron was held to 3-11 shooting (He did shoot 11 FTs in the first half though) with 8 assists.
When players are no longer listening to coach and following his lead that’s when it is time to make changes.

I said it before and I will say it again, doc Rivers didn't win games he didn't coach for crap. The players won games in one that championship with the celtics. He didn't do anything. I don't know why he's so revered by the NBA and why people praise him for things he didn't do. He drove Ben Simmons out of Philadelphia and he's absolutely one of the worst coaches in NBA history.

That was a set up usually when a coach is fired that early in his first year they normally let the assistant coach become the interim for the rest of the season and in the off season they make a decision not the Bucks they hired this dude the same day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My take on the hype on acquiring Lillard was, yes, while he is a nice player for sure, he hasn't lead a team to ANYthing of significance.
I know most will say "oh he had no help" a lot of players in the NBA history have had no help and make the playoffs some times and build from there. Portland didn't, but people act like adding Lillard instantly makes them a Championship contender all while losing their best defender. In the East against teams like the Celtics, Sixers, Playoff Miami...maybe even Cleveland and the Knicks are coming on and they act as if the Bucks will just waltz through the East to the Finals.
Lillard isn't the leader of Bucks.
So true.. as a Celtics fan when I saw the Bucks roster I asked myself “ok now who plays defense on the perimeter?!” It just made no sense to me from the beginning! Doc Rivers is that coach who raises the floor of a team but drops the ceiling in terms of potential. He is also the holder of the title of most 3-1 lead blown coach.
Doc is still better than a lot of the coaches in the league, I’ve always liked him as a coach over the years. They won’t win shit with Damian Lillard on their team though, he’s a team cancer.
