Dealer Auction Nissan 350z 370z problems transmission engine replacement auto sales how to get a dealers license buy and sell cars wholesale make money selling cars Most Reliable Wholesale vs. Retail
Flying Wheels - Auta a dopravní prostředky
During 25 years of being a used car dealer I never once let a "sold" car be driven. Craig just demonstrated why.
Yeah I agree, especially when it's personal use. One deposit is down, park it up and light prep for buyer. But each to their own I guess 😜
I wonder if his online dealer school has a section on how not to drive something that has a deposit.
My dad brought a used car year's ago it was a old banger £1000 probably twice that now with inflation he paid for it ( I think in full ) and when he picked it up it had a extra 210 miles on there attitude was it has 130000 miles on it so what he said it was sold you did this on my car
I think that crash was before it got sold.
This is a deal breaker for me. If I have a deposit down, you touch that car for cleaning only. I'll watch your videos but wouldn't recommend you as a dealer.
Hi Craig, I sell cars for friends and family out of my driveway so they don't lose money on trade in. I hate marketplace but unfortunately it's where people look so I am forced to list the there. However I have found something that helps to comb through the crap you mentioned in this video. I have found people don't read the description and only scroll through the pictures. I take amazing photos of the vehicles I sell so the first one always stands out the second picture I now have a PDF photo saying the price and reasonable offers considered by serious buyers in person only. Online offers of any kind will not be considered and will be ignored. It has practically eliminated the problems for me.
Oh great idea 💡
👌
Smart. I like it. I bet there was a lot of people who do not read the description 😂
Good ideas
I sell cars online too but because you don’t accept offers through text, would you consider it a waste of your time when people come to look at the car in person and only offers an amount you’re not willing to take?
Omg I died laughing watching you go through all the offers 💀💀💀💀
I sold on marketplace for years and stopped a couple years ago because of what you just showed 😂
Solution? State in ad:
"ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE proof of valid DL / current insurance and funds / pre-approved loan / or confirmation through our lenders to test drive, no exceptions period" what's your thoughts Craig? Anyone?
@@alexisstarsmith1477 that doesn’t work. People don’t read.
@@DunnDifferent oh cheezo your right! 🙀idiots🙀
People don't care to read the descriptions
@@alexisstarsmith1477 The problem is people don't read the ads. I used to sell cars on FB Marketplace (and Craigslist) and had lengthy ads that fully described the vehicle along with any damage/defects. I also took pictures of any damage. If I had a nickle for every person that asked if there was any damage, I'd be a millionaire.
You should make a compilation of the worst and funniest Facebook conversations, I would definitely enjoy it
Yes!
I'd watch that!
Auction Tips- we do a "tag team" approach to pre-auction. Much quicker & easier, one hooks OB2 Scanner, other checks tires, wheels. etc, One starts engine guns engine, other is looking under hood at engine same time, and exhaust, brake lights, and fluids etc.. All options and windows checked out, total time 5-8 min per vehicle. Alone, a 30pt inspection would take 20-30min. Or go visit a new car dealer, for all his over 100k trade-ins, no auction needed. Brandon Ford, Tampa, will not keep any trade-ins over the 3yr/36k factory warranty, everything else is auctioned.
Car sales especially on market place is brutal. Everyone is an expert and everyone has a friend who bought one for cheaper. It’s a joke. Kudos to you for handling it so well. I’ll do a few flips a year for some passive income but definitely not quitting my day job anytime soon
Everyone’s got a Buddy 😂
Hey Craig, thanks for the vid today. Sold a truck today on market place and man it was wild dealing with it. Thanks for the awesome content always and showing us even you an experience salesman becomes frustrated. Happy holidays.
Awesome video thanks Greg good information Happy New Year blessings
Really enjoyed this one. Great insight into what it takes to see cars on FB. Keep it up!
I had a 99 boxter, did a lot of work on it. Love that car so much!
I thought you said you NEVER take deposits?!?
Thnx You are always entertaining I'm 65 been dealing with cars sales yadayada FOR YEARS Craig spot on with the wanna be buyers. Happy New year to!!! God Bless
Great video, Craig. Happy new year!
Great stuff thanks happy New Year to you
Congrats on the Nissan sold for asking! The Boxster have mostly Hex, which was a PIA to find back then! Yeah ther than that I think electrical can be a pain sometimes as it refuse to start. Great vid! Thanks for going through the pain of FB marketplace with us!!
I absolutely love the needle analogy.. classic. . Perfect fit.
Excellent as always Craig 👊🏼
You are a great wheeler dealer. Your operating style is the best. I am a loyal fan. Take care.
That was a good one . I learned a few things . Thanks
Hey Craig, love your videos, I have a question though. How many cars does your dealership usually sell monthly or yearly? I'm looking into starting my own dealership with my brother here soon and your videos help a lot!! Thank you
Been watching for years man, your videos are getting higher and higher quality every time
8:44 ha, I've got that exact gun. Used to use it a LOT when I made custom cabinets to do touch ups and marks that occurred during the install. I also had an airbrush too.....
Awesome video. FB marketplace is such a challenge and I enjoyed you calling out the myriad of time-wasters.
You're awesome by sharing it with us!!!
FB Marketplace is a supreme PITA when selling almost anything. The buyers with the stupid questions, the low-ball offers and frankly, the threats and the sellers with the unreasonable expectations just do not make it worth it for me. Good video.
The thing I really like about the 370z, is that the interior shares the upmarket fitment of the R35 Skyline. Where as the 350z’s are shabby looking IMO. The 370 is a really nice improvement in overall fit and finish quality from the 350.
When I listed my 92 Nissan Sentra for $1,500 on MP I had one person in particular ask if I would take welfare checks as payment.
Good videos. They show are your talents, and you speak eloquently.
Great Video! I do believe the car with the same engine is a Audi RS Q8
It's tough selling a car like that right now. It's winter so not as many people would want to have fun with it now. But at the same time it's good to sell it before car prices start dropping
It’s such a stupid phenomenon. As if it’s never getting warm out again
I'm in West Texas. I sell several Corvettes every year, no matter the season.
@@davidr6865 yea it is honestly, but it goes to show most people don't completely buy with logic. Most of it is emotional
I woulda painted the entire front bumper. Not much more work and it would have looked much better. I think that's taking care of the customer more than blending.
Every thing about this video is so correct . When I sell on market place I think that every one thinks it's customary that you have to give them a deal under the asking price.
Market place is 80% salvage cars and 90% “is this available”… 10% are actually willing to buy a car and not give stupid offers.
Love this video. The nightmares of selling on market place video def on point. Lol
Great video !!!
I buy and resell shoes on the side and you explained exactly why I don't sell on Facebook Marketplace anymore. Too many lowball offers, people asking questions that were answered in the description, people not responding when they message you 1st just wasting your time, etc.
Once I forgot to use the parking brake on my 370Z. By chance I went to my garage and the car was right by the garage door. If anyone would to open the garage door, it would have scratched the bumper at the least. I quickly move it and engaged the parking brake - a must on every manual.
Amazing videos. Not many dare to share. I started one or two cars now only as side income. Keep up d sharing bro

I could just watch videos about your conversations with the Facebook marketplace crowd. It is gold.
I enjoy your perspective.
The messages brought back ptsd when I sold my infinity. My goodness lol.
Facebook is a joke to sell things. I sold a Ducati Panigale R and had an idiot trying to offer 9k for it. I ended up selling it for asking price of 17.5k. Book was 21k, that Facebook guy kept trying to negotiate his last offer was 12k which was below trade price that a dealer would offer. He was rude to the very end saying it wasn't worth my asking. I blocked him after letting him know it sold for asking and to stop wasting people's time.
Craig,
Can you do a "shorts" series with all the funny/ridiculous conversations you have with tire-kickers? Lol
Will do
As long as the IMS bearing has been changed you should be ok on the Boxster, if it hasn't, you are in trouble, unless you find someone who doesn't know or care about the hand grenade sitting behind them. Oh and a Q8 though it's detuned in the Audi.
Another great video.
Same engine as lambo maybe,Audi R8 great content thank you, hope your having a good Christmas
Mate. Love your attitude . I’m in Australia and I was a flipper a few years ago and used to sell cars for mates before marketplace. I’m now renting cars and buy and sell a bit. I can’t do marketplace for exactly why you’ve just done through. Now all my surplus goes to auction. Not only does it remove the need for me to be a dealer here legally, but it removes the agro that marketplace idiots cause. These jokers need to be told.
I love looking at your channel as we're pretty much doing the same over there and we bought about 2 months ago also a 370z that we've got to sell pretty quick at a good price too. You're right they start to be pretty rare in an unmodified condition and those are really good values on the market right now.
A lot you said in your videos are pretty common with us even being in another part of the world and this is very funny actually ;)
Your FB Marketplace schtick was hilarious. Let me know if you need someone to filter those responses for you. Gratis. I'm retired in Florida and bored. Great video - thanks!
I sell most my cars on fb marketplace. Craig if you don’t put FIRM in the ad, you’re opening yourself to these ridiculous offers. Put in the ad that you do not respond to offers below asking price. That will save you plenty of hassle. 👍
I get the same here in the UK over cars like these to the point were I don’t answer emails anymore as I have found the serious buyers will always phone and talk to you in person, so know how you feel..
I feel ya man lol we got a boat sales place and i get this allll day….so annoying
If I may ask, why do you wait so long before releasing your videos? Thanks, love your posts!
I think that Boxster is a good deal if the seller accepts your bid. A previous owner replaced the top with an aftermarket glass window product which is a nice upgrade. If you had attempted to operate a top with the plastic rear window (the only option available until the 2003 model year) you risked cracking it.
Crazy how those Boxsters cost so much more than a Miata at the time and still came with a plastic rear window, just like the Z3s.
totally agree. trying to sell a 2016 low mileage wrangler unlimited in the family. i know the market. the stupid offers keep rolling in. finally agreed to sell to a dealer in pa, for less than i was hoping, but a fair price. unfortunately, the owner passed away before the bank released the pay off, so we have to wait for power of attorney. luckily, it seems the dealer is willing to wait due to the condition of the vehicle. if i get interested in a car on fb, ill try to haggle a little, but some of these clowns you get are rediculous!!
People who tried to negotiate without driving car were ignored by me back when I was in the game. Usually had cars sold before I bought them, wholesaler. Enjoy your content
Did you wholesale to retail dealers? I’m wondering because I also have my wholesale license but I’m not sure on how to gain clientele
Bravo. I’ve sold many cars in my 66 years, going back to print newspaper ads. They always do one of two things. Either a ridiculous lowball swing-for-the-fence like Alfred E. Newman hitting on the prettiest girl at the party, or the “what’s your best price?”. First one’s easy. Second one, i take them to school. “The price is in the ad.” “Yeah, but…”. “There’s no ‘yeah, but’. Here’s how this works. You make an offer, i make a counteroffer, and we either meet somewhere between them or we don’t. But I’m not going to negotiate with myself. That’s stupid.” By that time, most of them have that look toddlers get when you try to explain the Second Law of Thermodynamics. These people are out walking freely among us…
If he wrapped a z around a telephone pole, he wouldn’t be walking away…maybe carted away and buried somewhere a couple days later.
I thought you didn’t take deposits or checks? Your Facebook Marketplace experience is exactly what I had selling a bunch of stuff on there while moving. It’s absolutely maddening and your needle prick analogy is perfect!
There you are man haven’t saw you in a long time
I hate dealing with people on Marketplace. I was selling a 6 place snowmobile trailer some years back, all rebuilt with new decking, axles and tires and was asking 1600.00 for a starting price. One guy texts me and says he has 400 cash. I text him back "as a deposit? When would you have the rest?" and he replies "Just the 400.00" . I laughed at him and blocked his acct. As for the Urus equivalent, my guess is an SQ8. If that is it, that a nice ride and I am looking forward to the video on that.
Happy New Year to you and your family Craig!
FB market place gave me a good chuckle. I've been there too. Like swatting flies! How much did you get the 2018 f150 at auction?
We have the same problem here in the firearms business. People mod the hell out of something, bring it in to sell it, and think they’ve made it more valuable. Just a big fat headache for the new buyer.
If it’s an rsQ8 I’ve been searching. I’d love to buy a bit over wholesale 😅. Loved the marketplace segment! Very funny
Sharing the Urus motor? I didn’t see the vehicle in the teaser but I’ll guess the Audi RS because there are plenty of used Audi around.
Thank you so much for making this video. I own a small business as well. We do business on Facebook marketplace every day . It’s amazing the amount of people that really need called out for their behavior on this platform. I understand being aspirational in your desires to have nice things. But the bottom line is that these people don’t have the ability to buy stuff they ask about. I wish I had all the time back. That I spend on the useless conversations. Hopefully your video calling this stuff out will help.
Listed my 350Z for sale and was literally swamped with calls from everywhere and many of them annoying just like you shared. Luckily the very first guy to come an look at it was a decent young adult, no problems, went with him for a test drive around the block, paid the asking price same day....but I'd never want to sell one of those again!
Oh no not the Talon... I've totally done that before except I forget to shift into park and when I went to get out i fell as the car rolled off ended up in the ditch across the street.. feel your pain 😂 All in all could have been worse good thing it was just a little cosmetic touch ups
Really enjoy your videos. My guess is Audi RSQ8 they share the same twin turbo engine I believe
And the SQ8 which is more affordable. There’s also the RS6 Avant but those are hard to come by. I’m guessing SQ8.
Pretty sure you can sign up for an insurance policy and pay monthly. If you cancel early, you get a refund back. If a driver chooses not to have insurance, that's on them. But for the test drive and while they're shopping for a car, they can get a policy, even if it's temporary
Hey Craig, Did you know you can set up an auto responding bot for the people at marketplace?
It’s gonna be a pain in the butt to semi automate it
But trust me, you’ll save a ton of headaches…
For example, set up the bot that says. “Yes it is” when they ask the damn “is it available?”
And from there a message to schedule a call with you
There already is, yes are you still interested but ik wym like come see it on our business hours ___
Selling anything on marketplace or even eBay is so exhausting. So many people who message with just “lowest?” “lowest price?” - no introduction no sentence just that. Its incredibly annoying and I used to be so polite and professional but they have worn me down nowadays I either dont answer or get really short with them. Lowest is the listed price always.
Hi yes it is as of this morning but I do have someone wanting to see it tomorrow. When would you like to take a look at it?
This knocks it down 9/10 times.
I'm a dealer in San diego and have the same issues whenever I buy infiniti g35/g37s.. I now don't allow test drives on these cars because of the kids / tire kickers...
I recently sold a 21 year year old motorcycle on Craigslist. It ran well and the price was fair. I mentioned in the ad that I didn't want it anymore because I now only ride my much newer motorcycle. I had a couple people ask me if I could give them the bike for free since I already had another one. I also had a couple of people that wanted to set up a payment plan with me (and the total payments was still less than my asking price). I ended up selling the bike to a middle-aged man who bought it for his son. Since the price was more than fair, he didn't try negotiating. He gave me a check, we went to his bank, and I got the cash. Why can't everyone be like that?
After a while I posted on marketplace, i just quit responding to anything on Facebook unless it was a serious reply. I listed below what dealers was selling for.
I’ve bought and sold powerstrokes 03-10’s and I ran into the same thing best deal around on bulletproofed and gone through trucks and they offer you 6500 for a $15k truck that you have 12 in
Porche Cayenne bought at auction 😅
Great videos
Facebook marketplace and offerup has pissed me off so much to the point I don’t want to sell vehicles anymore because of annoying customers. One wasted my time saying he was on his way… cut to 5 hours later and still nothing.
Just wait until you get a ferrari and you will really get the tire kickers. I applaud you craig for keeping it professional when people try to take advantage of you. At the end of the day its a business and you are more than professional with buyers.
Seeing your market place is funny to watch lol
Tuner cars like that do fine on the mods and miles auction website. That auction site is for people specifically looking for that exact type of modified car.
@FlyingWheels if it meant selling a vehicle, does your shop factor in shipping fees as part of the final sale?
Cool I didn’t know we were racing-hilarious!
The nonsense you have to put up with from "tire kickers" is amazing. It's clear to me you are not in an easy business but I can also see that it can be fun!
Oh man your Ram sounds same as mine so I assume it’s deleted😁 but yeah that bo bo bo that engine makes is amazing
I Love this Episode. 🤣🤣🤣 thanks for sharing. Hearing your responses to these premandona.
I'm surprised that you guys in USA still have checks, we don't have them, haven't seen them for 15 years
NZ
The car you have purchased that shares an engine with the Lamborghini urus is an Audi s6 great purchase
I feel you with the Marketplace dms... I have a 2011 Hyundai Elantra GLS and had like over 100 people contacting me with the auto message with no reply, the offers without coming to buy it, scammers and idiots that didn't read the ad.
Just a suggestion when parking a manual transmission car with or without a hand brake or e brake always leave the car in second gear or fourth gear. The stick will never pop into neutral..
Thats pretty clean for a 2009 they took good care of that one. I've seen 4 year old nissans look like 30 year old cars. Do you know what kind of exhaust they put on that nissan?
Great channel. What does PIA mean?
I feel your pain. Selling online sucks but it gets that car out there lol
That strange that US Dealers.not got red dealerplates..that you can put on any car..for testdrives,or transport them...since 1990 only dealers can get them..these tags cost min.900 a year..and they can be suspended if you give them to a private Person..that only can get 5 day temporary plates..( 100$)for a technical good car but is not transferable anymore..happy new year from Germany.🥳👍🇺🇸🇪🇺
Just listening to the lowball offers was pretty funny.
I blame all the "flipper" tv shows for how people attempt to negotiate now. And it's on literally everything now, not just cars. Being a reseller of anything is a pain in the ass now.
Love the videos , and my guess is that you got an Audi RS Q8 …
First: Click “Like” Second: watch video. How are you doing, Craig ? I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and enjoy the New Year!
Peace,
DrRick
You need to hire someone just to go thru the bad offers and send you the valid offers only. Someone who is desensitized to the pin pricks. Someone who can take the flames, the insults, the name calling, the low balls, etc. Then you'll only hear of the best offers. It could be someone working remotely. Send them a few bucks.
I’d do it
