Would love to see a large centerpiece model for Darkoath, a reimagined Chaos War Mammoth either as an Oath shrine or classic howdah attack beast, maybe even solo Mammoth !!
Liking the idea of the sacrifice points on the wilderfiend, very thematic
Wylderfiend allows Darkoath units to fight first on a 5+. Combine with a Mindsteeler Sphyranx and the oath of the Darkoath on foot, and binding damnation spell from the Lore of the Damned, and you start to get an army of fights first vs enemies that then fight last. Ensuring that you are striking first a lot of the time. A Chaos Warshrine would be fantastic in a Legion of the First Prince army where you can give a Darkoath unit an additional Mark of Chaos. Give your Darkoath Marauder mob on foot the Slaanesh mark in addition and the Slaanesh Prayer from the shrine to get a 7+ easily and achieve that oath for some sweet rend! Throw a Dark Power spell on them from a Sorcerer Lord and get a +1 to hit or +1 to wound. Or go the Ravager Route with a Dark Oath Chieftain on Steed using one of the 2 heroic actions he has to bring back half a unit of Darkoath! So many possibilities currently, they are all a great addition to the army!

I played mirror match against Martin a few months ago and learned a lot he’s a great player.
A nice addition to the range could be a Darkoath Priest. Like, Warriors and Sorcerers know how to harness the magical powers from the Gods while the Darkoaths have to appeal to them. And this would also give a slightly different play style than Warriors

I did prefer the older Norse aesthetic rather than the new Conan aesthetic. Still cool that you can build them up in a variety of different ways.
With what you were questioning, do Darkoath Fellriders get a change to their save with broadswords? They have shields on the models unlike the javelins.
Like who is the dark oath hammer that's going to use that plus one to wound?
How long is the delay in aus for the box set?
It is cool... but isn't this just pointless? 4th edition is coming out in what, two months?
Not a huge fan of the models but maybe once I see them in person I'll like them more, I had the exact opposite experience with the new freeguild stuff. Rules seem really cool regardless
