Excited for this talk. What I've learned after being a commission painter for a little over a year is that I don't like being a commission painter. I don't have time to paint my own models, clients don't like and edits and want it how they want it (which i get, but some artistic freedom would be fun. Why ask me to paint if you don't like what I offer). It's just something I've learned.

Being a commission painter is like being a musician, except there's no jackpots, and the best you can hope for is practicing for many years and getting so good that you get offered the occasional small town gigs.
