To be honest, I can't put into words the impact the Mind Pump Crew has had on my life. From struggling a little over a year ago with depression, to a point in my life right now where I am pursuing fitness and nutrition for the rest of my life, I just want to thank the entire team at Mind Pump! Obviously the health and nutrition info has been amazing, and the RGB bundle would really be a blessing to me, but I think Justin, Sal, and Adam have been role model figures and have given me the information to change my ways on spirituality, reading, discipline, wealth, building a business and most importantly being sturdy male family figures. I can't thank you guys enough for the impact you all have had on my life and I truly believe you guys are shaping the next generation of men.
Winner! Please email ann@mindpumpmedia.com with this episode number, a screenshot of your youtube profile, and the email you would like the program to go to!
Look up Hanz and Franz open the 1989 Arnold Classic here on the U Tube. I think of those guys back in the old days of Saturday Night Live that will bring a smile to your face.
On a serious note, I feel like I'm getting a real education on fitness and nutrition like no where else. Love this podcast!
"We're here to pump you up!" - Hanz and Franz
Being addicted to this podcast. Listening every morning here in the UK. Great stuff! I started working out 6 weeks ago, 40 years old and I am learning a lot. Keep up the good work and thanks for all the knowledge shared.
How’s the journey bro!?
Active duty Marine here, also from the Bay Area and let me tell you. I’ve been following you guys for the last 6 months and I have made great improvements in my health overall! Thank you guys for all that you do and the knowledge you provide 💪💪
This clip is elite. Should be required in every PE class.
I've cut my volume, not days just overall volume each day, by around 50% after listening to the podcast for almost a year. Now I'm less sore but improving rapidly. Thank you guys
Good stuff. I think sometimes we don't listen to our bodies and just go hell for leather. The danger is suffering with chronic fatigue which happened to me a few years ago, it's bloody awful. Now I listen closely to what my body is telling me and workout accordingly.
I love this podcast and how knowledgeable you guys are. Out of all the best ways to judge workouts, I have noticed them by following ur advice for the past 2 years now. I’ve gotten stronger and smarter because of guys, and I hope this podcast never stops.
I like these dudes more every time I listen to them…glad to see some real dudes killing it on CZcams and being able to reach out to so many people. I hope y’all keep killing it and continue throwing out content consistently.
Mind Pump has literally changed my life. After a chronic ATFL tear I realised I needed to find something to do other than what I thought was my passion - endurance running. About 9 months ago I came across the Mind Cast podcasts.... they literally changed my life. I started strength training and listened to each episode religiously. I listen during my work outs, in bed at night, in the car, whilst walking. Literally all the time, i am obsessed! As a single mum with two children aged 4 and 5 I have changed my life completely and now work out in my garage at home while they sleep in the morning. In 4 weeks time I will finish the program I have (not MAPS) and have already made the decision to buy the RGB super bundle before the month is over. Winning the bundle would mean the world to me and would help me so much on my journey. I cannot believe I was once a cardio bunny... Mind Pump has transformed me and I am loving it. Thanks so much for everything you guys do. Your content is unreal. XXX
I am taking a break from training to failure this month, because of you guys. I've also changed my rep ranges to lower reps, which I usually tend to neglect. We'll see what happens!
Love everything you guys are doing and the practical advice you give, listen everyday and appreciate the dad chat just as much as the fitness!
Just started lifting consistently for the first time since summer started. I also started watching this podcast around the same time and it has saved from a lot of wasted time and mistakes. Keep up the great work guys!
The amount of knowledge I’ve gained from mind pump in the past year of following has been insane. Just finished my ISSA certification for strength and conditioning hoping to work with athletes helping train correctly and pass along the knowledge I’ve gained from you guys not only fitness wise but oeverall life wise! I’m a big sports guy like Justin and adam and love lifting and MMA training like sal. Currently 4weeks out from my 11th mma fight and been using maps performance as my S&C routine this camp and I’ve never felt better ! Mind pump fan for lifer 💪🤟
This episode is probably the best in a while. Filled with valuable information and great analogies for understanding. Thank you!
Always love how I can learn something new about I topic I used to think I knew a lot about.
I have to talk to patients about working themselves hard in rehab but not getting TOO sore. It’s hard to find that balance sometimes
I love listening to y’all. I learn something new each time. I’ve been working out for on and off for 5 years and never knew I was doing that wrong. I always thought the more you sweat the better the workout. Thanks for not gate keeping this info and actually putting it out there🙏🏼
Just started listening to you guys this summer. Already has had an insane impact on my fitness approach. Thank you for the truth!
MIND PUMP !! Appreciate all the wisdom and stories! This podcast has been a major guide on my journey.
I have to say you guys are legit awesome! Since I’ve started watching about a month or so ago constant info to add but with this specific episode just hits home because I always intuitively felt that being overly sore was not good! Feels good to just be reinforced by you guys 🤙🏾
Y’all are helping lots of people understand the concept of training in a very well thought out digestible way. Realizing as a trainer, analogies seem to be universal with us too!
I used to judge my workout based off of all 4 of these . I burned out and ended up putting on 30 pounds. Now I’m trying to repair my body and my metabolism and working out in a way that supports my health. Your podcast has drastically changed the way I workout and the way I think about my workouts. Gone are the days I try and beat myself up in every workout! I can’t thank you enough for the amazing content you put out!
These tips were so helpful and good reminders for me. I’ve definitely leaned to the side of intensity and overdoing it at times. I’ve scaled back on cardio, increased strength training and am finally noticing positive changes!! Thanks for your sound and helpful advice! My go to guys! 💪🏽😊
Thanks for the info. Since I've started this new lifting program, I was definitely more sore at the beginning. Things are getting better. My body is adapting, and I feel stronger.
Ironically these worst ways to judge a wokrout are oftentimes the things that result in so many quitting their fitness endeavor. Appreciate the work you guys do to get the real word out! I am entering into my later years in life and still lifting. We are always a work in progess and I'm continually looking for ways to learn and grow. And Mind Pump helps me to do just that... Thank you for all the fun and informative content!
Just recently found you guys. Awesome content. Thank you guys guys for taking your time to go into these subjects and explain the process. Much appreciated.
One of the best things I look forward to is watching your show on CZcams after work. Learnt so much over the past few months that I can now implement for my own transformation. Thank you for the impact you guys make on peoples lives.
This episode is spot on, succinct, clear, and direct in its message. Honestly, I struggle to listen to many of your podcast bc they are too long and ramble off topic. Please keep going like this.
I’m learning so much from you guys and trying to change my mind set of having fear of putting on weight by adjusting my training program. Today I reduced my weights and reps but adjusted the time under tension… I felt so much stronger and felt the exercise more…. In a good way !!!!
Thank you for putting out great content all the time. Y'all have inspired me and helped keep me from falling for many of the pitfalls that are out there in the fitness community. I'd love to try one of your programs; maybe ill have to take advantage of the current bundle specials. Keep up the excellent work!
I love listening to you guys. I always learn something I can use with my clients.
I have enjoyed and saved this episode for the future, i might need to watch this again in a few months time as a refresher . Great show guys thanks for this
I’m so grateful for Mind Pump. I recently injured my back and need to take some time off from lifting heavy. I’m happy that I was able to find earlier episodes like #1397 where you guys talk about what to do when you have injury, how to safely workout with injury and how to keep muscle mass while not being able to fully workout. Thanks for always bringing great info, and making it easy to understand. I truly appreciate how knowledgeable you guys are, I’ve learned a lot since I started listening to you guys. Thanks Mind Pump team!
Awesome content! Great job guys. Keep it going 🏋♀
Great info. Thanks!
Thx for the knowledge
Never was into heavy lifting always kept it light and used HIIT. I did a 5x5 program once for 6 weeks and saw tremendous strength gains but let it go after friend/training partner hurt his back squatting. I appreciate your prigrams and advice as its helping me ger over my mental block around a solid strength program. I used alot of kettlebell and cable workouts, but gettibg back to basics with your help. Thanks guys!
Holy crap what a giveaway! And always handing out those discounts. Thank you guys for continuing to drive it home on what makes a good workout. These are the things I and everyone needs to hear!
Morning mind pump brothers!!! Talk about a subject that is soooo important to cover! I've been doing anabolic for 6 weeks now and have to rein it in as I tend to chase that soreness. Sticking to what you suggest in the program I really notice my strength improving, and much quicker than I have in any workout I've done in my life! My mind is blown by the trigger sessions too. Thank you so much!!! Trigger sessions! Trigger sessions! Trigger sessions!! Do them y'all!! 🤯. Have a blessed day!🙏🏼💪🏼👊🏼
I think everything is spot on about soreness . I do think soreness can be an indicator that you trained the right muscle group with the chosen exercises done
You guys are awesome ! Peace love and happiness 🫡
This really changes my perspective as a new lifter. Thanks for the awesome advice!
I read today's video title in Sal's voice. It was so clear, I started to think about all the unique ways each host brings something different to the table. This show wouldn't be the same without any one of you, so I'm glad all you guys got together and have built what you've built!
I learned so much from you. You changed my approach to working out. I am still learning, trying to achive my goals and trying to get my results. But I am on a good way thanks to you. I am not doing cardio every single day for hours. My workouts are better too - focussing on compounds and more rest. I hope I will get there where I want to be. But I have still a lot of work in front of me.
Ive been watching you guys for like 5 plus years, probably when you guys first started... Everything you gents have been putting out for free has been super helpful. I had to buy some of the programs lol. I started working out again and it been around 2-3 months , i do full body every other day and trigger the other days....sticking to the plans guys thanks
Such perfect timing. 6th week of very consistent 5x5 based training, going slightly up in weight every two or three workouts, no or little soreness and not a lot of sweat and still wondering if this is working-but obviously it is because clearly I am getting stronger. Hard to believe it sometimes. But the proof is in the progressive overload success and I can see the changes. And with more calories and more protein I am finally starting to see the fat percentage decrease. Thanks for the encouragement, the knowledge, and the timely coverage of everything I wonder about.
RGB bundle me baby, love the work I am always pumped to tune in 🔥
Best fitness podcast out there! Provides info for everyone at every level!
O man you guys are the best ... Solving these issues....Respect
This has really become a game changer for my life. I'd work out the same muscle over and over again if I didn't feel sore from the last one, then lay down the rest of the day cause I couldn't move. Transitioning to full body workouts, I feel much better and I'm living much happier. You guys do a lot of big things, but thanks for all the little things too.
Mind Pump is the truth! Much love from Thailand 🇹🇭
Love love love this podcast! I just finished reading the Resistance Training Revolution. I appreciate all of the information you guys provide! #liftingwithautoimmune 💪🏻
Omg I NEED the RGB BUNDLE!!! Best bundle ever!!!!
Sometimes I just feel like tighter out of the sudden and it feels great I mean I have been overweight for about 12 years now 😳 and for the first time I feel like finally in a close future I’ll end up with a strong core and noticeable abs ☺️🔥💪🏼
You guys are the only reason I'm confident to be in the gym thank you!
Nice topic MP 👏👍
You guys inspired me to became a Personal Trainer and i just completed the course. Looking forward to be learning more from you guys.
It’s still good to have one of those beat down sessions every now and then , progressive overload and time u see tension is still king
Found these guys about 4 months ago. Love the information. Can’t get enough of it….💪🏼
Gents. My dream is coming true. By taking your advice, and leading by example, my 14 year old daughter now wants to workout with her Papa. So not only have you changed MY life, but you’re going to change the life of the most important person in my world. I love you guys!!!
Finally I am not late for the giveaway 🙏🏻 thanks for the podcast, love listening to Mindpump 😊
Great episode!
You guys gave me so much knowledge about Training and also you gave a complete new perspectice about training and frequence so that i train 3xfull Body workouts with results that are better than my previous 5 Times a week Training, thank you guys
Love the show, watching from The Netherlands. Keep it up!
Picking up awesome info as a personal personal trainer.
Would really appreciate a new workout for my female clients
As one of the many who got into physical fitness to bury emotional issues, I’m glad they mentioned the issue. I talk to a lot of people and it’s a very high % who do it for an escape from inner turmoil.
You guys make some great points, I really appreciate the continued stream of quality fitness knowledge. Totally agree on the soreness aspect, soreness and muscular adaptation have some overlap but are not intrinsically linked. I will try to take heed of this knowledge when it comes to my strength workouts. I would however like to point out that this advice is mostly applicable to people who define "results" purely as body composition (which is probably 98% of people.) I am a BJJ athlete so I find a lot of value in putting myself through grueling, "punishment" style workouts because the cardio and mental toughness aspects directly transfer over to the mats for me. I put myself through it so that no one else can bully me as much as I bully myself. It pays dividends, especially when competition time rolls around. I am fully aware that I am putting some serious miles on my body that will inevitably catch up with me, and I accept that cost. I'm sure I'll be hobbling around with destroyed knees at age 45 lol. It's worth it to me if it means I can run circles around everyone else in BJJ and wrestling. I don't want to be on my death bed and think to myself, "I sure am glad I made it to the end of my life without ever getting injured!"
Thank you ❤️
Love from Norway
Glad I found the channel!
This show has done so much to improve my quality of life in such a short time. I laugh daily and I pick up a new fitness tip every day.
It takes three days for me to completely recover from a chest and triceps workout and that’s because I do lots of dips, push-ups and I use rings. Every other muscle gets sore if any for just a day. But I will reduce the volume for chess and triceps and see how that works out for me.
One tip I use (which I feel is worth mentioning) is using 3 objective measurements together for fat loss. Scale (same time in morning after pee/poop), calipers (one point about an inch to the side of belly button but doesnt really matter where as long as consistent), and tape measure around waist (part of the Navy body fat % calculator). While any one measurement may not move on a given day or week. When I'm doing things right, AT LEAST ONE measurement confirms progress and helps maintain motivation.
Great podcasts as always. In phase-1 of my maps anabolic. But I just do trigger session once a day
Loved this episode. I am 47 and I have had to relearn what a quality workout is. I used to judge it by the sweat or if I could move the next day. Your podcasts have really helped me restructure and create quality full body workouts, with confidence, so I can improve with each workout and still have the energy, without the lack of excessive soreness, to play with my kids and be a quality husband:) Those 2 things are the most important in life:)
I get a little sad when I see the videos are less than an hour lol 🤣 You guys are awesome , thank you for all of the great FREE advice!
I am so in love w getting stronger. I couldn’t even bench the bar and used to get sore with body weight exercises 😂 I love it! Have so many programs but doing anabolic first. Love the trigger sessions w booty mod
mind pump yeah dude!!
Don’t think you guys are losing this fight on doing to much. I’ve been an athlete for my whole life killing myself and chasing the pump you name it I did it. Start working out less and focusing on mobility on my off days and so on. It’s changed my life. You guys are winning it, it’s just a slow fight! Keep up the great content.
I am so happy I found you!! Got your book and Resistance Training program recently. I am 48 but that’s the new 30 😂 it’s my time to shine!!
I really like the realization of not aiming for complete muscle soreness post workout. My muscle soreness does spike when I switch phases, I think because I'm trying to pick things up where I left off. Maybe I should try to ease in a bit more when switching phases. For example when returning to Phase 1 after doing Phase 3, it's about 4-6 weeks since doing strength
I’ve only been listening/following you guys for just a bit over a year, but it’s the only entertainment I look forward to! I’ve stayed up to date since I started listening, but have gone back and knocked out some early episodes in between your releases. Just got to episode 81 and you guys had me dying 🍆😂😂 keep up the awesome work, I know I’ll be a lifetime follower 🙌🏼
For myself personally, my best gains come when I feel muscle soreness after. It also helps let me know I hit the target muscles I wanted to.
Provided I’m recovered, most or all soreness gone, before returning to the gym, I’m more than good 👍
Yep agree with that totally. I don't think soreness is bad unless it is impeding the next workout
So you're sore after every workout?
@@ruganzureggie385
Usually I am, yes. Some of it is delayed onset soreness after a few days. I do low volume training, only workout 1 - 2 days weekly.
@@bigpicturegains sounds like a mike mentzer kind of training. Could you help me out, so I work out by doing 3 sets to failure 45 to an hour long training and I do split body workouts but after my sets I'm not exactly sore but I can't do anymore . Now if I do legs for example and then I do some abs. Once I'm done with abs I somehow feel I could continue doing legs even though when I did legs I did them to failure and tired out. It's like I'm ready again to do them in the next few minutes. Also when I leave gym I feel tired but not exactly sore or not able to do more . Makes me wonder if I'm pushing myself enough or no
Every episode that pops up is a super treat 🌈🍕💪🏻😎🤘🏻
RGB bundle sounds like a real treat! Send my way please help a poor brother out. Love your work, time and effort fellas. Thank you
I love this podcast I just started back up working out this week and I’m sore as hell. But it’s weird I do chest press and shoulder press with machines and my left pec and shoulder is a lot more sore than my right side. So I need to lower the weight on those two exercises
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” - Jim Rohn. Here’s 3 of my 5+. Your advice & Tom Bileau’s has really helped me turn it around and I wanted to say thank you. Still very early in the journey but really feel like I’m on the right exercise & health path thanks to you all, Tom & his guests.
Thanks guys, I always chased muscle soreness and thought it was good and the muscle would be built. I'm now in my phase 2 of the MAPS Aesthetic program, without soreness and love it! The only thing is, I am gassed and the end, so I'm not training biceps and triceps as hard as I would like to. Any tips on this?
So Glad I found you guys❤️. Lots of Great information. I have learned so much from you all. This podcast confirms my workouts are working for me. I would love to be a give away winner. It would be fun and rewarding to me as I work on my fitness Journey. Thanks
What’s up guys Ive been listening to you guys for atleast 2 months now. I love I’m Learning a lot more even tho I played college football and basketball. On my journey from recovery on my patella tendon repair I’m at 285 with a 30% BF but started at 310. My goal is to get to 215 or to 10% bf I need new workouts hopefully I can when the contest to get ur programs
Mind Pump‼️
Glad i watched this. I thought i was doing something wrong when soreness didnt happen
I thought for sure the Arnold “Pump” comparison was gonna get brought up from Pumping Iron 😂😂😂. RBG Bundle let’s gooooooo
Boom! Let's go!
I almost never feel tired or warn out after my workouts. I get everything done, and have a good quality workout, but I typically sit for a min an think about what else I can do because I still have energy. I have to make it a point to leave before I over work myself to and I'm regretting it the next day. It helps me to think of the recovering aspects after lifting as part of my workout.
Three years ago at 39 years old I was in the worst shape of my life. Two years prior to that I had gone from being a SHM mom to working full time, doing my Master's and making sure I was still taking care of my family the way I used to do while still at home. All this led to stress, lack of sleep, lethargy, anger issues and weight gain. When I finally completed my Masters and had some time on my hands I asked a colleague who was a fitness fanatic what was the best form of exercise to get back into shape. She suggested Crossfit and I joined it. I did Crossfit only three days a week and I did see results but at the same time I realized that I was sore all the time, after a workout I didn't have the energy to make dinner and there were times I would fall asleep right after a workout. I also noticed that most of the people in Crossfit were also having some kind of injury. I was afraid to quit as I had seen some weight loss but then I listened to one of your podcasts in May of 2020 (it was a suggestion by the YT algorithm) and I quit Crossfit and have never looked back. Working out has now is something I enjoy and has become a part of my routine and it no longer feels like something I have to do. Thanks you all for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Three months in and my workout must be working because I am getting comments. Just started day four with Creatine Monohydrate. My work outs are three days full body. Took me awhile to feel comfortable with Squats but I am there now and adding weight slowly. Doing three sets of 8 with 225 pounds on the smith machine. About to lower that weight and go with the Barbells.
I think another challenge is trying to balance the need to push yourself for results with not overdoing it. When I started back working out, I went less than 50% of what I used to be able to lift. I really tried to be thoughtful and conservative. It was challenging but I felt ok after (so I thought). Once DOMS set in, I couldn't move for 5 days.
Can't believe I've been doing it wrong for so long! I'm definitely one of those people that has to feel sore to think that I had a good workout.
31:00 good ways! Thank you!
That’s awesome to know! I’m assuming that feeling the muscle effort during the workout is desirable, but not so much the lingering ache afterwards?
Commenting just so you guys get more views! 10/10 guys
I want this bundle
Hi Adam, would you be able to share a link for the shoes you have on in this episode? Thanks in advance.
I’ve been binge watching the podcast episodes and clips on CZcams this week while working from home! The banter is hilarious and the knowledge is gold!
I would pay to see y’all take a Barre class!
