- Here is a new video !!
This is a vintage TV lighter made by the Japanese company Waco around 1960.
It was in very bad shape, some parts were broken or missing and had to be re-made.
The chrome was really pitted and as I couldn't do new one, I just polished it. It could have been better tho...
Please watch till the end to see this 1960's Japanese TV lighter in action !

Anyone else though it was a mini TV at first?
A lot of people I guess 😉
Yes 😂
these videos are perfect to watch before falling asleep 😴
Excellent!
古い日本の物が現代の海外で修理されているのを見ていて、不思議で幸せな気持ちになりました。
I love it! Funny that with today's technology, you could turn this into a working TV without much difficulty - while keeping the lighter!
That would be just great !! 😃👍🏻
I was kinda surprised he didn’t do that but still it’s an amazing result.
It's not a "working" TV
Why ?
@@TheFabrik Do it!
For a minute there I did not believe you that it was a lighter - never saw something like it but it was definitely deserving of restoration. Enjoyed it and the outcome is stunning!
Yay mate thank you very much !! 😃👍🏻 I was about to start smoking again 🤔😅
@@TheFabrik ha that is 60s for you lol be well mate!
This is one of the most unique lighters ever. This is a true conversation piece.
My grandpa had a walkie talkie looking one that this kind of reminds me of. But it wasn't nearly as detailed as this little TV. This is definetly cool as hell. Bonus if it actually worked when TV signals were still analog! 😆
Never in my life have a wanted something more than that lighter and the screwdriver!!!!
About ten years ago I started collecting lighter’s and I have one of these tv ones exactly the same but mine is gotten very rusty. But thanks to you and your fantastic skills I think I am going to have a go at restoring it. Thank you for showing me how it’s done. Excellent at wot you do love watching your channel 👍👍👍😊😊😊♥️
Thanks a lot Kelvin ! Glad you enjoyed, I hope you’ll restore yours 😌👍🏻
This would sure be a conversation piece today
WOW TS AMAZING HE HAS THE TOOLS TO DO A GREAT JOB
Great and elaborate work, in their days, one picture was enough to create fun
Times have changed 😉 Thanks for watching 🙌
Cool dude that took a lot of patience…very nice
와 작은 TV📺 또는 라디오 📻인줄 알았는 데 라이터!🪔 였네요~!😆 신기해요!
that duck is the best thing i've ever seen in my life
Haha ! 🦆
Interesting object you restored and hopefully you will restore something Christmasly.
TV and Lighter....together at last....Insane.
The most original item to be restored! So cute and restoration is perfect!
🙌Thank you so much !!! 🦆
This brings back the artful ways they made lighters when smoking was king or queen.
This is true restoration!! Most people just adjust new apparatuses...
I am always amazed with people having these golden crafty hands. I wouldn't even know where to start restoring something like this.
2 ingenious tricks in this restoration... Using heat shrink tubing to mask the wick from the primer and the mason jar sand tumbler. Absolute Genius! Excellent job!
Thanks a lot !!! The paint on the tank is galvanized coating ;) Glad you enjoyed !! 😃🙌
Great. Now it’s my life mission to get my hands on this
notice how clean the insides are and how everything comes apart so easily. and how clean the springs are...
When did plastic and glass started getting rust.. surprisingly only outer cover got rust.. and inner components are not that rusty.. Great work...
Excellent work. The duck turned it into a true gem. 💕♥️💕
😌👍🏻
I thought it was a TV, but this is something like a photo frame.
You've got magical hands my friend and I love your nickel solution filled duck too. 🦆
Nice repair TV
OMG this was like reverse engineering and restoration all in one, the work this guy does is amazing, I find his videos mesmerising.
Now that TV looks good and now you can watch your shows

My grandfather had one of these. Used to play the radio all the time when I was little back in the sixties.

This would have been a nice opportunity for japanning all the black parts.
"Wunderbar" , a nice imaginative tool (or toy), perfectly restored. I`m rapt!
That was one cool lighter
Awesome item and great work restorin it. Next step - put small display and some electronics and make it show some black&white japanese TV shows.
Oh yeah that would be awesome !! 😃🙌
I thought the TV is real..
Anyhow, it is a product of love that you create. My hat is off for you...
Reception seems good as well 😮
This is the coolest lighter I've ever seen.
You have a sense of humor when you bump into glassesㅋㅋㅋ
Pretty elaborate for a lighter. Good job on the resto.
Thanks a lot 👍
I restored a 1940s lighter for a friend who was an antique dealer it was a pilot holding a propeller but when you moved his head the flame appeared. The body was cracked so it took a fair bit of time to rebuild him. Luckily after restoration it sold for a reasonable amount in just a few days.
Talk about an unique lighter and a great outcome🙂
Thanks a lot !!! Glad you enjoyed 😌 🙌

I own this very same lighter. It came from my grandmothers home. It no longer has an antenna but is is still otherwise functioning. I will continue to love it the way it is for now.

That has to be the coolest lighter known to humanity.
I might even start smoking.

Some people watch shitty unboxing videos…(I legit will never understand that level of consumerism) but I watch these videos to relax. It’s weird. They’re oddly calming and interesting!
AMAZING.., extremely well done.. the other restoration videos don’t even come close, and makes some of them look like a joke!
Can you restore a beetle car and wagon! Would love to see it

Unusual piece for sure. Nice to see it back to near new condition again. Never saw any light like that before. Thanks for the video project.

Oh! I didn't realize how tiny it was from the thumbnail! I thought it was an old CRT TV with a built-in lighter somewhere... Which seemed kind of silly, but cars used to have built-in lighters, so it kind of made sense in a way? A TV-shaped lighter makes more sense hahaha. That's ok, I love restorations and tiny things, so this was a very good video.
Well worth the effort.
Oh wow my dad had one of these for years ,and i have a photo of it on our mantlepiece from 50 years ago
A TV lighter, I think I've seen it all now. Beautiful repair and tune up on it. A really cool item. Love the picture of your pitcher duck for the screen.
Amazing!
Love the lighter. Haven't ever seen one of these, even the Gentleman who collects lighters I don't believe he has one and I may be wrong. But when you came to mixing the white and the blush both good years I think, did their work well. I really enjoyed watching you do this it was Awesome Thank you for Sharing this.
Excellent restoration
Excellent, though laborious restoration. 👌
Thank you !! 😌👍🏻
Nice restoration from your own
That’s an awesome lighter. Well done on the restoration.
