that fuel A/D input ... is it useful to see if the car is eletronically set to put more Fuel Input?! i have bought a focus mk2 and im not sure if it is electronically changed to have more power and so on.... thx in advance

my 2006 focus 1.8 tdci lx doesn't have the buttons on the stalk or a trip reset button. weird I know. there isn't one anywhere. no hole where it should be or anything. how do I enter this menu?

I am trying to find info for my 2013 Focus. Last fall, there was a recall for the transmission/clutch chatter [auto tranny but it isnt a regular torque converter]. Before they did the parts fix they tried some sort of computer "update" that only made it worse. Before the computer update, the car was getting 30 MPG and after all the work was done, it now gets 23 MPG. I am going to confront the guy at the service desk about this. But I wondered if there was a hidden menu diddle that I could do? Nearly everything goes through the computer on the Focus nowadays.
jrfoleyjr Modern cars have tens of computers. ECU, SRS, ESP, transmission, comfort functions, headlight adjustment, emission - each is using it's own computer. Hidden menu can only show you details of the instrument cluster work parameters.
If you are experiencing increased fuel consumption, it can be caused by the new parts in your transmission and rolling resistance that will go away with time.
But please get in touch with your Ford dealer.
jrfoleyjr The sequence is fairly similar on a mk3 (2011->) Focus. With the ingition/engine OFF, hold down the "OK" button on the left side of the steering wheel. While holding it down, start the ignition (if you also start the engine, you will get more data, like engine temperature & rpm, etc..., so it does not matter). You navigate through the self-tests with the "Down" arrow on the steering wheel (still left side). You escape the test by either pushing and holding the "OK" button again for ~5 seconds or by turning the ignition off.
Now re your issues with the gearbox... what they did for you is that they re-programmed the "computer" that takes care of the transmission (aka TCM/Transmission Control Module) with the latest shifting "maps".. which is ok.. the decreased MPG is normal and TEMPORARY, as the transmission is in the learning mode and learns how to shift (you should also be seeing engine going into higher RPMs when shifting, compared to what you have been used to... and that is one of the reason of higher gasoline consumption).

It's doesn't replace a code reader though, it shows a limited number of DTCs that relate to the clocks only
what happens next?? does it remain there or it just go back to normal after the start

I don't have a reset button on the left stalk. i dont have any buttons there actually. only left/right turn signal lights :(
Try with trip reset button on the instrument cluster.
I have the same dash for a ford focus mk2 , how do i reset the water in fuel that keeps coming on , did a diagnostic and they couldnt pick up the error and changed my filter and drained the water but it keeps popping up ... thanks

coorvahmuch Service menu is for diagnostics, there's nothing that you can change in it.
This procedure works with all Ford instrument clusters with LCD displays.

In my car you dont have to enter in any menu to read it

It’s an old video but worth a shot at an answer.Just bought a cheap 2005 1.6 Zetec for work.The dials go crazy from time to time throwing engine system malfunctions and even goes into reduced acceleration.I was told it’s either a known fault on the instrument cluster or maybe the battery.Can anyone shed some light tia

Just had this fixed i presume it was your instrument cluster. Common problem i am told.
today when I've stated my car as usual and started moving the following happened
" engine malfunction " message
" transmission malfunction "
" then the tow message disappeared and check engine light came on... but the car sound in normal and its moving normally >>

Vineta Jaudzema Thats limited engine performance. Connect with diagnostic interface and check why your engine is in this low power mode.
Mr fix can you help me , when i turn off my focus mk2 1.8 my display its still on , i can go home for 24h come back and this its still on do you know how fix it ?
If you don't have aftermarket alarm system I would try to reset it by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes.
This is normal behavior. Only the display light turns off when leaving the car. The display stays on.
Check your doors one of them aren't close completely.
Mine won't enter Test mode, whatever I do. I'm trying to find why there's a 14 sec delay on gauges, wipers, windows and other stuff.
Phill, my wife has a 2008 CMAX and we also have around a 15 second delay on the gauges, wipers, windows etc. Did you find your problem? She just told me about it but apparently it's been doing this for about a month.

If I remember correctly, Ford is using two coolant temperature sensors. One reports to the ECU, other one to the instrument cluster. Check if the other one and its wiring are OK, replace it if needed.

sean oxborough you can check your speed in different units (km/h mph) when traveling between France & UK, check temperature gauge if coolant is boiling and leaking but temperature in the instrument cluster seams normal, check indicators if ABS does not work but no warning light is on.
