There’s been many cool shots. But in my opinion the level of difficulty here is what makes this shot so incredible. Remember that he barely sees the cue ball and Alain must bridge over the 5 ball. In my opinion this is the most amazing 9ball shot in history.
Jeremy is my brother.. That’s not what that look means.. lol.. I’ve seen that look a few times.. Which is why I circle back to this often.. Yeah, the shot was one in a million, but the look was priceless..
I remember watching this on television. It was the border battle, Canada vs U.S.A. If you can believe it, the dancing bear ends up over shooting the 2 ball and falls out of position, and the rack went to Jeremy Jones.
Yeah he mentioned it during the US Open if I remember correctly. He probably wasn't too happy at the time, but now he has a great story to tell for the rest of his life
I got a picture of that guy at 4 years old, out cold asleep on a mattress that floating in flood water.. No shit.. Yeah, my parents thought going for the camera instead of going for the save was the correct move.. Shrewd..
If ever a billiards shot commanded a standing ovation, this was the one. Were the ones still seated not paying attention or did they not realize the magnitude of greatness they just witnessed?
WilliamRayWalters Actually I don't understand. I'm not very familiar with Billiards, I do understand how hard that shot was, but I don't understand why it was necessary. Was it impossible to pocket the red ball by hitting it directly?
Excalibursin I'm not a pool expert, but since the first guy struck the 2 ball first (the blue ball), and then the next guy hit the 2 ball first, and seeing that there are only solids and one striped ball (the 9 ball) on the table, I'm assuming they are playing 9 ball. In 9 ball the first ball struck must always be the lowest numbered ball on the table. As long as you hit the lowest numbered ball on the table first, it can strike any other ball and pocket any other combination of balls. If you happen to hit the lowest numbered ball first and it hits and pockets the 9 ball, you win the game immediately, otherwise you just pocket balls until the 9 ball, winning after you pocket the 9 ball. In this case, the 2 ball is the lowest numbered ball on the table so he has to try to hit it first. That's why he had to go for that crazy jump shot.
***** Koola, relax a little bro. Life is too short to be overly concerned with me making a comment about a billiards standing ovation. I only mentioned it because a fair number of people in the audience did, in fact, give the man a standing ovation. Take care, man.
Jessica Hall Being stuck in between the 1 cushion and 2 cushion with you wouldn’t be bad 😅 lol As far as the 2 cushion escape I’m not sure ..I’m not too savvy in billiards knowledge.
That's crowd-favourite Alex Pagulayan (Filipino/Canadian), one of the best player of all time and was also 9-ball World champion in 2004 and multiple times US open winner..
That's not even close to the best kick shot ever. Super nice to pull off in competition, but I've seen it elsewhere more then once, including from behind my cue. The fact that the announcers called it ahead should be a clue.
Well... Originally, "Billiards" can be used to denote any of the ball-board games (including Snooker)... but for simplicity it goes as this:- Snooker has a really much much longer and larger table with 21 balls (thereby there are 15 balls and the others are differently coloured balls). And there's a unique point system.. And the players don't JUMP shot... And the guys are usually suited up...And I can go on and on... They use the same table for English billiards (an uncommon game) and Russian pyramid. Anything else....literally anything else... is generally called either Billiards or Pool (but definitely not Snooker)..depending on what the rules are and what country it is played in (8 ball pool/billiards, 9 ball pool, one pocket pool, rotation, 14.1, bank pool etc etc). Essentially we use the word "Pool" more commonly. In this video, it is 9-ball pool (the most popular professional pool configuration). And there are even billiards table where there are no pockets like in 1-cushion billiards, 3-cushion billiards, Carrom/carrambole billiard (French billiards)... Here we use the word "Billiards" rather than pool.
He plays it off like it was any other shot too. Fucking pro.
The guy who lost looked like he was thinking, "Well if I have to lose at least I lose to THE COOLEST SHOT I'VE EVER SEEN."
Jeremy Jones. He still talks about it when he commentates
Jeremy is my older brother.. Trust me, that’s not what that look means..
@@jacobjones5269then what is twll me pls what is on JJ's mind?
Disgust.. lol.. pure disgust..
One of the most incredible billiards shot you’ll ever see.

Holy....! That's a crazy ass shot. I've never seen anything like this.
JJ still talks about this shot today.
Yeah he mentioned it during the US Open if I remember correctly. He probably wasn't too happy at the time, but now he has a great story to tell for the rest of his life
That's my teacher. He is a legend. He destroyed me many times.

***** Speaking of retards...how the fuck is a golf fan gonna give a standing ovation when they're all already on their feet the entire time?

+1 for cliff thorbon
Honestly guys... do you feel that the 2 cushion escape would be worth it in this position? I'm conflicted between that and the 1 cushion.
Jessica Hall
Being stuck in between the 1 cushion and 2 cushion with you wouldn’t be bad 😅 lol

Wow this is not that big of a deal. If any of these idiots took physics they wouldve known about newtons laws. This is so easy to predict.

SNOOKER, NOT BILLIARDS
Daniel Lee 9 Ball. Snooker is totally different.
SNOOKER?? Just a little 9 ball.
