"Frank: I mean, really do I have to have one? I mean ughh, next question please. it's a sensory experience, I don't leave the house hoping to see any more or less of any colour.. it's different per implementation, you know? context... Maybe today it's blue, maybe tomorrow it's green, i mean I guess there's colours I don't like, and the answer could be deduced from which colour i dislike the least and prefer to see in general application which is.. well Orange. Okay you got me, it's orange."

Love this interview. He completely breaks down into understandable concepts how he answers the questions. Lightness, good sense of humor, she's missing, personality of the band carry's on, not upset by copy's but they note them, the idols were pretty cool, quite on tour bus, gets louder backstage with differing tastes, rage against the machine are modern and dangerous feeling, johnerthon modern lovers black francis favorite, there's a cycle in live music demand, choose when to be busy based on need, black francis explains things simply are simple, groupings of songs the fans like together, love doing live shows keeps them on the edge of their toes. they're having fun doing that and want the fans to feel that.

Man, that last album was awesome too. This song called Greens and Blues is a jam. I love it. I’m just now finding out about this brand new one. Charle’s voice is deep. His singing is totally different from what you’d think hearing him talk on this particular interview.
I don't think the young lad has any idea who these older men are and doesn't get the references!
I really hate when an interviewer totally ignores a second guest, how incredibly rude. Involve them in some way at least, this interview has been going now for 7 MINUTES and I have not yet heard an utterance from Joey, not even one! Half the interview is over!
Truth to that but in almost all pixies interviews I've seen Joey barely says anything even the ones that are just interviews with David and joey
@@GamesWithBrainz yeah, plus Joey keeps looking at Frank, as if for reassurance. I think that's the nature of their relationship, as much as the interviewer's off his game. Still enjoyed hearing from the pair tho.

I’m glad that Charles & Joe are still active, regardless of what they make in the studio...I will continue to purchase their records & support in what little way that I can.
Its a wonderful album. Gorgeous and beautiful in everyway. Joey has become one of the better guitar players in all of rock. Concerning this interview it just goes to show how simple the band sees its music and how fans and critics alike can take it all too seriously.

One of the most awkward and relatable bands ever. Charles explains is very well. They're not a big statement kind of band, they're more like antisuperstars. Gotta love em to pieces
The interview started shaky but man it got really good in the second half. Joey's observation of needing the audience to start missing them before they start the cycle over again was pretty honest and informative.

I dislike bands getting back together and not releasing any new material, but fair play to the Pixies, along with the amazing 80s and 90s back catalogue, we have had 3 new great albums.
I always get the feeling that Charles especially is more than happy to talk about music, and is more than able to share insights, but he finds the trope-ish, hipster/cookie cutter guff from the music press annoying. I do too. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that NME called him Francais in the title, I wouldn't have watched all 22 mins, preferring instead to listen to Beneath the Eyrie. Yes, it's pronounced eerie.

Good Interview! I agree with Black Francis! It would be good to see one last Live Reunion Tour with J Richman and the Modern Lovers! Before it’s too late! They have one great album and I bet it would be a successful tour but J Richman is too eccentric so I doubt it will happen. Then I’d like to see one last Talking Heads Reunion Tour also but that probably won’t happen either because Byrne doesn’t want it.
And this time he could go the opposite way and wear a super tight suit instead of the Big Suit. What a great gimmick that was! A super small and tight suit where he could barely move would be funny! 🔥💥🎸😎

Lets all just admit it - the Pixies are Gods for what they created between '88 - '91.
Everything after that has been failed attempts to recapture past glories. They have not, and will never be anything like as good as they were. But what they were was something truly special, and for that, god bless them.
You've hit the nail on the head there. Joey mentioned IDLES. I discovered them three days ago. They excite me the way the Pixies did thirty years ago.
I will comment: The interview had a dry vibe to it. The interviewer did not follow the answers to grow them into a conversation. The questions were kind of forced to begin with. Charles tried to bring some life and enthusiasm, but it didn't' pick up. I think Joey was trying to consciously bring some groundedness to the talk, but again, his answers went right over the head of the interviewer. I would say he wasn't listening, unless he was feeling a bit of contentious. I think overall, this interview was a waste of time. This comment too. I'm trying to get some worth out of it (the interview) by making an effort in clear observation and conceptualization of this encounter, but ends up being a waste of time. That's why is better to go under, under the...that was my comment, and is.
The interviewer is terrible. His questions are lame. I could think of so many good questions to ask these guys. As musicians, songwriters, people, experiences and on and on. "What do you guys listen to?" Really? Who would you like to see reunite?" WTF?
