People need to get over the "Kim vs. Paz" thing and just be glad that Paz gets along with the guys as well as she does. No matter how valuable a player may or may not be,if that player is unhappy or makes everybody else unhappy,their value goes into the dumper. With Paz onboard,they are a creative,relaxed band again,which will result in more new music,which is a good thing for all of us.
She really can't be expected to improve the old stuff and she really can't.
I don't believe she was involved with Indie Cindy much so she hasn't contributed much to new stuff enough to change the band until now.
Head Carrier is a wonderful album. Find I put it in my listening rotation a lot. Wish more songs from last 4 albums are played live. Not just the latest release. Very good interview.

Dave is an all time great drummer, humbly saying Paz makes him better, the interviewer basically diminishing Kim Deal's bass playing for not being "classically trained".
that's why I like Kim, even with the Breeders she is raw and unconventional. her skills are different. listening to her more recent recordings, there are some hidden gems throughout the years
she & Kelley both shred...Kelley did not even play guitar until she joined Breeders. In R Ring, live 2 acoustics were unreal.

geezus! paz's surf story is so legendary and yet at the end goes back to: .....uh huh....... interesting.... classic awkward pixies. I'm a huge Paz fan for sure. i hope Paz takes this as a complement: the pixies are an adventuring party in Dungeons and Dragons, and like choosing to be an elf or a dwarf you could choose to be a Kim Deal, she chose that character and then made it her own. so cool. thanks Paz.

Why is frank black standing like he has somewhere to be in 5 minutes
He mentioned in the middle of the interview that he hurt his knee and that standing would be better for him.
I guess is because for fatty people is very uncomfortable and difficult to sit in those chairs

Matt, I agree. The beginning of this video was truly touch and go. However, it pulled together quite nicely. Interesting.

I wonder why Frank is standing.
Those high stools are notoriously unstable. The long metal thin legs are prone to giving with too much weight. Obviously, Frank would be testing the limits. However, he did say later in the interview that he hurt his knee and the stools would be an issue.
Maybe he really hurt his knee....or maybe its just a bad idea considering his mass.

they were not wanting to replicate a thing, in their sound it is obvious they wanted to keep elements of surf guitar motif alive...& they just did shit, not some big huge contrived production, regular people who wanred to play music
