A Daily Reminder to Never use Quick Rise

  • Ok, obviously there's actual situations where quick rising is a good idea, like when fighting Jin when he goes for that setup that literally every Jin player uses. However keeping true to that fact makes for a less menacing, and therefore less interesting, video title.
I'm taking a break from ranked for awhile. I want to drop Eddy but until matchmaking changes picking up a new character into ranked is a nightmare. Quick match does not a good learning environment make.
That said, expect me to be back when Slayer and Akuma (and eventually Lidia, whenever that'll be) release. Unless I find something cool or dumb (like this) that I feel I can post so my channel doesn't just outright die.

my personally crafted king setups are beaten by quick rising but i have alternative that do over 3 times the damage if they do decide to quick rise(tho it loses to back getup)

Yeah having to constantly react to that kind of stuff is difficult. It's better to spend a round or two just faking the set ups just to see what they'll do on wakeup. Up in Tekken emperor I'm getting a lot of people who delay wake up. It's annoying since it beats Eddy's best flowchart option, being his WR move. It's that patience that wins games though.

Also certainly an option. Still looking into more moves that leave people back turned for more situations like this, though I'm not fully certain how truly practical this is in game. Definitely gonna try it once I'm ready to play Jack though
