    The bread the faithful takes after partaken communion is called phrosphora or antidoro, blessed bread. The main reason is to aid the holy gifts to be swallowed in its totality. Also, its taken by people who have not participated in communion or take a piece or pieces home to be consumed in the morning after prayers and before breakfast (just an optional good practice)

    what do people take after communion? is that a bread?

      @@firesidechatswithluke6648 it’s the same communion across both orthodox and Catholic… So I don’t see why it matters
