Playing Traincraft in 2021, it's 1.7.10 but still enjoyable! I revisited an old favorite train mod from my earlier Minecraft days, 6 years ago (as I am a true Minceraft veteran just like Pewdiepie). I built a loop for them to drive around. I also get very distracted by the sheer amount of new trains, not to mention there's a Factorio reference (and I think the Class K wagons is a Starwars thing) 😳

fun fact: the guy who is making this mod is still updating it! even back in November he added new stuff & he's making a overhaul mod that will be in 1.12.2+ depending on how things go
I can't wait to be able to use Traincraft in 1.12.2 mod packs! I hope it will still be compatible with Railcraft automation 🚦🚂

Loved this mod. Back when railcraft was compatible. I stopped playing for a few years and all my tracks and were completely gone.
aw that sucks for the rails, but yeah the compatibility with the 2 for automation was fun. Remember to make backups of your worlds

Indeed, this was my favourite train mod long ago, thing was a good one and I enjoyed riding trains and making worlds, sad to se it fall down, but it left a huge mark on minecraft's train modding scene
They've been working on a 1.12.2 version for Traincraft. Idk when it'll come out, it's been under development for a long time. But I agree, now we've got a lot of train mods like Immersive Railorading, have you heard of it?

Oh I saw that recently! It has the 'Paint Brush Thing' item that cycles through paints that I've was looking for, a friend told me about it and I was looking for the update that added it. I'll be sure to use it in my next Traincraft video

So.... can I use this to make a little blue steam engine pull multiple vanilla carts on vanilla rails?
My friends and I are gonna do a survival server with mods and all I want is a little blue train. Everything else is overkill.
One guy wants to go to space, one wants simple firearms, I just want a train.
The Traincraft trains should be able to run on vanilla rails, I'm not sure how well they function on slopes. I'm not sure if they can pull vanilla minecarts, but there are some very small Traincraft wagons.
If you want an even simpler train style you can try Railcraft, those trains can be painted too. But then you have to worry about boiler explosions and somewhat bothersome rail crafting (they are cheaper at the end)

Fortunately the video has subtitles because otherwise I would not understand anything, a shame that the mod is in 1.7.10 and not in 1.12.2 since in these versions are my favorite mods and I cannot play them with this mod because of the difference of version.

I'm not sure if you've heard of Immersive Railroading before, it is a mod that adds trains, but they can be as small as model trains, to Traincraft size, to as big as real life. It's for 1.7.10, 1.12.2, and their working on 1.16.5.

Just extract the rar file and put the folder to your "saves" folder in .minecraft. You can log on using 1.7.10. Also, make sure to download Xaero's minimap for the waypoints of the stations (you don't have to set it up manually as I already added them). Download the 1.7.10 version here: www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/xaeros-minimap. Hope you enjoy it! You can use it to record as I'm totally fine with that. Just give credits and I'm fine

@@canadianlithium Thanks for the answer. I actually tried and succeeded with it. You can destroy trains with explosives but they are immune to regular bullets. By the way, any way to fix the track layer destroying bedrock?
@@Emerty1 I don't know how to stop that. But on another note, I know that (at least when I tried it last) snow balls will destroy trains, but I assume locking the train would fix that and maybe prevent explosion damage too
@@canadianlithium Interesting. Thanks for the input. In this case, the ability to destroy it will come in handy, though.
We’re thinking about using the track-layer as a siege weapon on our server, as it can penetrate (obsidian level) hard-walls. But it’s excellent mining, building and harvesting capabilities make it way too overpowered. On top of that the ability to farm bedrock just makes it unusable and we’d have to constantly check for contraband, as we’re not well-versed in data packs or plugins to prevent stuff like this or dumb down the machine. Should you have any additional info, please do let me know :)
