Thank you Mark. Clear and concise. The engineer handed to module to me and said I'll let you set your times and temp!
Thank you so much- just had new boiler installed, after our old faithful Glow Worm was costing so much to run in difficult times.
The engineer told me if was a breeze to set up- but any technology in your late sixties is difficult to understand. You explained it so well, and we now mainly use the boiler in manual mode.
The instructions were awful- but your video explained everything in plain English- well done, it is so much appreciated !!
Thank You! it's taken me two years to try and sus this out, finding your video today has helped a lot. Subscribed!
Thank you Mark. I could'nt work out why I had identical T4's with different weekday settings.....and there it was. I am using the T4 to replace 4 seperate standard Honeywell manual zone thermostats controlling my underfloor heating. A great straightforward and understandable explanation.
You're a life saver!!!... Didn't have a clue how to sort it even with instructions.. finally a winter with heat again 😊
Thank you Mark. Even after reading the instruction booklet I could not figure how to set up the T4m. Your video was so informative and help full I could not have programmed the unit without it.
Thank you so much. This demonstration made it easy for me to install the receiver and program the thermostat. Great delivery and at a pace that was easy to follow. Great work 👏🏽 👍🏽
Mark to the rescue 🙌🏾. Detailed step by step setup for anyone to follow. Thank you 🙏🏾
Thank you so much Mark. Your video is brilliant and took the headache out of programming my new T4R.
Perfect. Was wondering why there was no OFF option during the day, but turning the Temp down makes Perfect sense. Thank you!
So helpful. Avoided us aving to call an engineer after frustrating morning trying to solve connectivity issues, by describing the (30 second) fix which stupidly was not in the manufacturer's information. So grateful for the video
Thank you so much Mark you are a topman how you explain the things, how professional you are.
Thank you again for your valuable time.
Thanks a lot Mike brilliant tutorial Te Honeywell instructions failed to mention several features you covered. Most useful
Very straight forward and helpful Thank you very much. The plumbers left my wife completely bedazzled with their instructions!
What a brilliant video. So glad I found it because I was a bit baffled by the instruction manual which wasn't ever so helpful. THANK YOU!!
Thank you so much as your video practical demonstration was 10 times better than the actual manufacturers Manual.
Excellent video, thanks very much for the detailed explanation especially about what temperature settings to use at different times of the day.
Brilliant! Easy to follow instructions, thank you! x
Thank you so much! My son has been playing with the thermostat and my heating was coming on whenever it feels like it! I think I’ve sorted it now.
That’s absolutely brilliant Mark!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you Mark!!!! for me special the Manual modus and the parameters. Great.
Thank you Mark !!! Easy explanation and simple to use now.
Well done Mark! the best explained video I have ever watched!!!
A really helpful and informative video which helped me sort out the heating parameters for daytime when I will be working. Saved for future reference. Thank you
Really useful, gave details such as overriding a programme for specified number of hours and holiday/away settings etc which were simply not mentioned in Honeywell's own manual. Likewise how to 'unhide' options like the Optimisation settings which are useful but not on the menu as received. Well done Mark!
Great video, made us buy a honeywell TR4, really happy with it.
This is a great video. Thank you Mark.
Really helpful video, thanks!
Very helpful video thank you. I got stuck with the Auto and Manual option but I figured it out.
Thanks, my friend. The instruction booklet wasn’t actually accurate for my one and this helped me sort it - thanks.
Very helpful video, thank You!
Thank you so much. This was so easy to follow, compared to some set ups I have seen for the Honeywell system. Very informative. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi hun did you struggle with the guide book like me
Thanks this video has saved me numerous times, keep the videos coming would like to see more from you
Try get one done every two weeks. It is hard.
Excellent video .really well done .we are old and you made this so sime to understand.again thank you from sunny Norfolk uk

Thank Youuu!!! Just moved into a new place as was so confused. Your video helped so much!
Thank you so much. Grateful for such a well explained video, 😘🤗
Thank you explained it clearly - have shared the link with my guy that installed.
What a fantastic video that is. Really helpful. Thank you!
Fantastic instructions.
Great job.
Thankyou! When we got a new boiler a few months ago they installed this thermostat. The engineer basically said "thats on and off, thats up and down. Don't f**k with any of that or you'll lock the unit"
I've been wanting to set timers for weeks because we've been waking up freezing cold. We weren't even left the instructions booklet so I've had no idea what to do 😅
This is SO helpful! I wasn't sure whether I needed the T4 or the T4R and within a couple of minutes you'd given me the answer through this video. Thank you again and best wishes for you and your channel.
thanks so much. very helpful video 👍
Thankyou mark, you helped a lot with this video
Thank you. That was brilliant. Excellent explanations made the instructions easy.
Thank you 4 your help it was very helpful
Great video will try it later thanks
This is fantastic help for the technically challenged like myself. I will be following with eager interest once my new Vaillant Ecotec Plus 826 is installed. Superb channel, thanks Mark.
Excellent . I had been looking for a copy button . Now I know how to get the same every day .
Excellently explained all the features, very helpful. Thank you 😊
Thankyou Mark I never would have sussed out how to “Bind” room stat with controller.small donation sent.

Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you, your amazing. I'm all sorted thank you.
Excellent video helped my wife a lot
👍. Nice to get my first feed back with good positive comment. Thanks, glad it helped.
Thanks, Mark, for ALL your crystal clear videos. A question: is it possible to bind the T4R unit with the receiver of a CM927?
Best regards, Eric
Thank you you life saver. Peace 💪🙏
Thank you worked perfect 👍🏻top man
Very useful video as I thought you could set it like my old Honeywell but this explains the difference etc. Great video better then the manual. Well done Mark
Hi mate really good video thanks, can you explain what the heating cycle rare means it would be very helpful cheers Marco
Thanks for this it was giving me anxiety this lmao ! :)
Hi Mark great video, we've just had one of these installed in our Quaker meeting house, the engineer didn't know how to programme it! So I'm so pleased to watch this. My question is: can we keep this in a cupboard to stop other users of the hall tampering with it or should we just lock it as you've shown?
Does this new T4R function/communicate with the old receiver-unit of the previous model CMS927B1019 or do I have to buy the full package incl. new CV-receiver?
What's the difference between on/off or modulation thermostat?
(in combi with Vaillant CV)
Thank you 😊
finally working perfect Tanks
Thank you so much! This was very helpful! I recently moved into my flat and this was already installed with no instructions 😅 mine doesn’t have a battery though or that wireless thing but pretty much the same. It is stuck to the wall and if I remove it it resets 😊
Hi Mark. Great video. Would you recommend the T3R or T4R to replace a CM67ng wireless thermostat? Thanks. Dave
Great video - super helpful. Thanks very much
However I have a question please on the optimisation option on the 'special menu' - how does the optimisation option work please? I understand that the thermostat will assess the current room temperature and the next time/target temperature and then switch the boiler on/off before that target time in order for the temperature to hit the target at that time?
If that's the case then you have say 7-9am at target temp of 21 degrees but then you leave the house for work at 9am so you want the target temp to fall to say 10 degrees at 9am......how does the thermostat decide on priorities? Does it turn the boiler off at say 8:30 so that the room cools down to 10 degrees at 9am or does it prioritise the 21 degree temp until 9am the turn off to try to get the temperature down to 10 degrees? If it does turn the boiler off before 9am but you definitely want the room to stay at 21 degrees until 9am how do you get round this issue (other than turning off the optimisation option!)
I may have opened a can of worms here so you may ignore the question but I'm intrigued as I want to use this feature as I plan my programming
Many thanks again for staying up late to make this video!
Mark
Hello Mr. Ballard
What thermostat is a direct replacement for my Honeywell CM 901 ? Without having to adjust the wiring . Many thanks
Hi quick question, my old thermostat had a variance of 3 degrees between the temp of when the furnace starts and stops, it gave it longer to run but waited longer to restart, at the moment it starts and stops to frequently, there fore it runs more often but for a shorter period of time, hope this makes sense. is there a setting that I can change to get a longer time between starts and stops
Thanks. :)
hi thank you is it normal for the boiler/pump to be on for most of the time in the heating period target is 20 rooms is 20 but the boiler is still going it will turn off when the lower target than room temperature new boiler this year thank you for any advice help
They are a pain, you've made it so easy to work now
hI Mark, just got a new one of these, can I set it up just for on and off manually as required rather than programing it as some days we want it on and sometimes not
Thanks for vid great help. Mine is similar to this but its not wireless, lost my manual, if in the middle of night I need to run down to turn heating on just for 1hour can I do it with this, as I can't find how to, and I don't really want to be messing around with programs while being half a sleep and just want it on for 1 hr. Thanks
Hi Mark, quick question - is the wiring on my CM927 relay compatible with the replacement T4R? Is it a simple task of replacing like for like?
Thanks..will watch again when I have calmed down. My installer didn’t really have a clue how to operate this……and it is NOT intuitive at all..told me heating companies ‘have spent millions’ making sure these thermostats are easy for the techno phobe older generation. All I can say is that they wasted their money! So much easier when my controls were a manual dial, and not digital …..pushing one button, then another…..ticks etc etc
I noticed your start time of P1 differs from the end time of P6, without the ability to change the latter since the systems jumps directly to the temperature setting. I have the same problem here. There are gaps or overlap in the program. Any idea how to solve this?
Hi Mark, great video which explains it all, even though we have the T4M. One question, we also have our hot tap water from the boiler. Now when we open the hot water tap the "flame" symbol in the thermostat also comes on, is this supposed to be like this? I think it is but I cannot find any answer on this online (so far)
Solved my heating is on all night because it was in MAN setting! Thanks
Great video, however my honeywell remote which looks like this one but doesn't have honeywell home on the front, just honeywell, when the suitcase is on the screen I can't get rid of it. When it's on the screen and I go back to the menu, the suitcase is not there for me to scroll across to run off. Any ideas please? thank you
Hi there, Your video showed fitting the thermostat sender whilst mentioning you was adding the wires to the right side from the boiler later. My boiler is downstairs and the thermostat is upstairs on the landing which is silly as it never gets hot enough up there to activate the thermostat whilst downstairs is like an oven. So I was wanting the sender upstairs and the receiver controller downstairs. So can the sender NOT have the wires from the boiler to the right side i.e. no boiler directly connected. many thanks
Mark further to my comment below, do you have a video to set the TR4 for the most economical setting to work efficiently. We have a new all electrical boiler and want to keep costs down - currently two settings 6-10 am and 3 -9.30 but it seems to be using a lot of kWhs as starting from 16° and going to 20.5° each setting.
If you just want to use it in manual mode have you got do you set that up please
Hi Mark - another question. Is there any way to set the heating to come on, reach a temperature and then switch off completely rather than trying to maintain (trying to work out an economical way of using the heating after the bill changes).
Any ideas why my boiler fires up intermittently when the thermostat is already at the temperature? Wondering if it's just keeping it at the temp, but I would think the temp on the device should drop for that to happen...
What a kerfuffle! Is there one I can get with min 3 on and off times (I don't want continuous 'on' programmes I want the boiler to go off when I don't need it on) with a heat override/boost button for an hour or so in between the programmed heat times?
Hi. I just bought and installed a T4R. For the moment, I am keeping it on Manual on a low temperature 15C as no one is leaving in the house. The temperature has settled since at this low temperature so now the ambient temperature is the same as the manually set temperature on the thermostat. So now comes the tricky part. It seems like the default heating behavior of the thermostat is somehow to preserve this temperature by briefly turning ON/OFF the heating (ON for 1-2 minutes and OFF for 5 minutes). Now this for me is pretty much a waste of gas as the house has underfloor heating and turning the heating ON for just 1-2 minutes is pretty much useless as the water in the system cannot be heated that fast. I looked over the "Additional Parameteres" in this video and the ones that make some sense are the 2 CR (heating cycles per hours) + 3 OT (Minimum ON time) although these are not great either. The thermostat I was familiar with was working on a very basic principle: you set the temperature, turns ON the heating until it reaches 0.2 - 0.5 degrees above the set temperature, turns OFF the heating and then waits for the ambient temperature to drop by 0.2 - 0.5 below the set temperature and the heating cycle resumes.
Is there a way to set this thermostat to work on the same principle?
It is worth mentioning that the house only has the gas boiler and heat distribuitors on each floor. There is no automation yet installed to control the heating on each room yet.
Can you help, my scheduler didn't come on this morning and appears to have stopped working, yet the room temperature was lower than the scheduled temperature, it worked fine last night, I have a honeywell T4R, if I adjust it manually it works
hi, mine is stuck on the yr then it says 24 but it’s keeps freezing on this screen, have you any ideas how to unfreeze it because sometimes we can’t turn the heating off
I have followed your instruction (which were brill thank you) on how to program my T4 Thermostat but it is not saving my settings. i set my heating to come on at 8am and off at 10am then did other settings throughout the day then its saved but when i go back in it says heating will come on at 8am and off at 1pm please can you tell me what i am doing wrong
Good video but there’s lots more you could cover. There is both optimum start, which I use, and delayed start, as well as optimum stop. These need to be selected in the installation menu. Also, these stats don’t work like conventional mechanical thermostats where the heating is run continuously until the set temperature as reached with the boiler cycling the burner on and off as flow temperature set on the boiler stat rises and falls. The T4 series runs the heating for quite a long period from initial start when the room is cold but, as the room temp rises closer to set point, from about 1.5C below, the T4 will cycle the heating on and off quite frequently. It can be a bit puzzling to see the room temperature at say, 17.5C but the heating switched off when the set point is 19C. It uses latent heat coming off the radiators with an occasional boost of hot water from the boiler to eventually get the room to set point but it doesn’t do it in the conventional way. The saving on gas is noticeable - my first CM927 which the T4 replaced paid for itself in a year with lower bills. Optimum start uses artificial intelligence to work out in the first few weeks of use how long the heating system takes to warm the room to set point and adjusts on time to suit - it may start an hour earlier than the set time on a very cold winter morning but only 5 or 10 minutes early in milder weather. Optimum stop will stop heating earlier than set if the stat calculates the room will remain at set point until the desired final off time off the day. I use 17C overnight so the house doesn’t cool too much and take too long to heat up again next morning.
Hi there can I use the old received unit for cm927 for new t4rd thermostat control
