I ask again and again: Why is Bo Jackson not in the pro football and pro baseball halls of fame? He is, without a doubt, the finest athletic specimen to have played either game. Do the opinions of his peers not matter? There are dozens of videos just like this one, with endless testimonials of his unparalleled athletic prowess.
I consider myself very fortunate for witnessing Bo's baseball and football careers. The type of athlete he was, none other reaching his level, was pure God-given talent. If you haven't seen the 30 for 30 "You Don't know Bo" I highly recommend watching it. Even above the way he could crush a baseball and the unheard of ability running the football, what I find to be really awesome is his character. Being that good, no one could blame him if he was arrogant, because his abilities would've backed it up. However, he's so humble, which I really admire. One of my favorite Bo stories was told by Nolan Ryan. When the benches cleared after Robin Ventura charged the mound after Nolan had already pounded on him, Nolan said he ended up under a big pile of bodies. He said that was the worst part of it for him, because he was scared that he would pass out and die. Then Nolan said he saw two huge arms throwing bodies off of him, and it was Bo Jackson who saw what was happening and came to his rescue. Nolan said he was very thankful and called Bo that night to tell him.
Not to get off the topic, the BEAST we call Bo, but Jim Abbott was actually a phenom in his own right, although he was joking, dude had 1 hand and was a damn good pitcher. Also, RIP Kirby Puckett
@skydome29 Bo wasnt on steroids they tested him more than anybody else cuz of his skill, they tested him even offseason plus he was born with like one more stronger blood cell or something like that
I saw Bo when the Royals played the Yankees at Yankee stadium. I remember seeing him standing at first base and couldn't believe how big his legs are. It was like two tree trunks. Maybe playing with a bunch of fat out of shape players made him look even better, but wow.
i saw him hit an inside-the-park HR at yankee stadium. he could of ran around the bases twice b4 they threw him out. if memory serves they didn;t even bother to make a play at the plate. not sure if that's ever happened before.
Would've been something if Bo picked either/or instead of both. If he stuck to baseball, he could've learned better command of the strike zone and become a .290-.300 hitter drawing 80-100 walks per season and being a totally wrecking machine. If he stuck to football, he could've put up scary single-season numbers. It's a shame we never got to see his skill set maximized, but what we got to see was simply awesome nonetheless.
u dream of the day u had the talent to lift his jock strap. Deion Sanders, Michael Joradan, all tried baseball. With little or no minor league experience. Put on a glove and be surprised if u can play a double header in a clutch position. Work hard, do what u wanna. And thats why people who dont know sports shouldnt comment on things they have no grasp on. No slight inteded, just speakn truth. u have a nice day, play a sport
@skydome29 Dude they still drawed blood too him all the time and in that same article they later did a replay they got all his blood draws that thew did like all the time none was positive and they had to pay him or something like that, but yeah dude not gonna lie i see where u coming haha but believe me he's pretty much like me and im not on steroids:) he was an amazing athlete tho
great athlete but its not like he was the greatest baseball player took really bad routs in the field yet he had that insane ability to use pure athleticism to make up for it and he would strike out a ton and wasnt the smartest player but he's the greatest athlete of all-time no doubt
"When God chiseled out an athlete, He chiseled out "Bo" Jackson." - Harold Reynolds.
Couldn't have said it better. Bo knows
God bless Bo! Im thankful that I got to witness his career. Incredible athlete period
David Lord lucky
Glad to see everyone talking good about him, not hating on him! To me that's a good sportsmanship!

Saw him hit a monster HR in the Oakland Coliseum in 1989. Barely looked like he swung.
Strength, style & grace
The kip up after an inside the park home run?! OK, that has never been done before and will never be done again. NEVER!!!!
He knows!
yes upload the whole thing!!
He would have been a Hall of Fame baseball player.
No this is what happens when the best athlete ever plays baseball
This was very entertaining.
Wow! Bo had enough energy to pull a perfect "Chinese Get-Up" after scoring on an inside-the-park homerun, awesome!!!
Sweet! Upload the whole vid please!
freakin a man! 6:41, an infield homer and he still has the energy to kip up.
Not to get off the topic, the BEAST we call Bo, but Jim Abbott was actually a phenom in his own right, although he was joking, dude had 1 hand and was a damn good pitcher. Also, RIP Kirby Puckett
2:24 Frank Thomas says it all right there.
yes
don't speak for him, he even said "after one baseball season football is a hobie"
This has to be 1994 because it was after he played for the Angels but before they tore down Arlington Stadium.
Only a legend hits an inside the homerun to a post-slide kip. 6:56
Bo Jackson gets double plays from outfield

It makes me wonder what would have been had Bo not played football and played on a better team than the Royals.
Bo Jackson treated pro sports like he was in high school...
That guy is the manager of the Dodgers now
