Steve you always know how to challenge your audience, Thanks for sharing the concepts on blurred motion photography….I tried it recently while in Yellowstone back in January and now with you showing how many shots you took and only grabbed one good one I don’t feel bad at all by only getting one good shot myself! Filter wrench is the correct term. I can also suggest rubber bands or rubber strips.
Make sure you're gripping the filter evenly around its circumference! Using only 2 fingers, or fingers/palm opposite each other means the filter will deform and "dig into" the lens, making removal more difficult.

Another very interesting video, Steve! Arthur Morris introduced me to that technique a few years ago, but I haven’t tried it yet! Your video encourages me to experiment with a range of shutter speeds.

Birds fly, planes fly...I'm in. It's not unusual for me to turn my lens to the occasional passing plane or helicopter.
Where have those filter wrenches been all this time? I don't know how many filters I 've destroyed trying to get them off! Thanks for sharing about those! Loved the animal footage. Looking forward to your next dose of inspiration.

Great stuff. Great patience also required in ultimately acquiring a keeper. Blue Angles? Yeah, bring'em on. They are just another quickly moving colorful bird........ sort of. I've taken my share of Air Force Thunderbird shots at AF Academy graduations here in Colorado. It's all fun and satisfying. Keep'em come'n!

I would love to see your work with aviation. I am primarily an aviation photographer who watched wild life videos for focus and technique tips. I also shoot birds when I can.
When the birds hide for the summer aviation photography fills the void,we are fortunate to have 6 air shows this summer plus spotting is a fun way to sharpen your skills.

I unfortunately cannot afford anything very very expensive at this time. But still wanted to know if you have any suggestions?

Excellent video. Was the video work of the birds done with the Z9 as well? Whatever camera, excellent tracking on them! I'm considering the z9 to be both my video and stills camera instead of carrying two with me all the time.

@@SteveMattheis Interesting! I have been using a Galaxy 7 Plus with Lightroom mobile. Gets me 90%. Can't get the focus stacking or stiching, but for cutting through the high volume of photos and typical processing, it is highly convenient. I don't do much with video, but, it is satisfactory for what I do. I would be interested to see how the IPad compares.
Aviation is what made me interested in photography at about the age of birth. Maybe it really was seven…
