- This Nitrous Nova at the NEAD No Prep knows how to get DOWN! Finding traction at a No Prep event can be a challenge, and more so when competing in two different tire classes! Keeping it simple & effective with a small block and single kit of nitrous, this Nova was more than impressive! Tearing up the dragstrip of Eddyville Raceway in Oskaloosa, IA, this Chevy Nova surprised a lot of competition during the NEAD’s No Prep Throwdown!

For a single plate 400 small block running w/1 guy in pit, I'm impressed. His car was dialed in.
My very first car was a 73 Nova SS, I got it when I was 15. I did my senior project on rebilding a carburetor. I drove to school, took my Holley 650 Double Pumper off my car at 7:30 in the morning, drained it of fuel, brought it into school. Did my presentation, rebuilt it in front of the 3 teachers, got my 100% and went back out and installed it back on m car and went home. I think they were more shocked about it actually being used on a car to drive there then being used to drive home than anything. But I fucking miss my Nova...it had a 350sb with a Stone Crusher 4 speed and a tier 3 clutch. If you could drive that car you could drive anything, it was like driving a big rig, you needed to hit those gears just right or forget it. It had air suspension behind the license plate and it was fucking sick. If you set it up just right you could feel the front tires come off the ground an inch and the front shocks top out from the travel and then when it hit the ground with a thud. It was the best car I ever had...Got my first ticket doing 115+ in a 50 with that baby...I am seriously thinking about buying the roller back from the guy who still has it when I grew up and needed a car that would run in the winter since I ran it without a choke. This video makes it hard to resist spending the money...Silver with Black racing stripes and no stripes on the roof. ((Sigh))...she was a great ride.

Good on this guy for taking small tire with 400 cubic inches! Awesome car and driver. That last race was hilariously unfair though, against a freakin' billet Hemi tube chassis car... how are they allowed to be in the same class?!

This Nova and driver has tons of HEART! Cutting great lights and a bullet proof small block is hard to beat. This combo made 'em work for it! Impressed with the driver's attitude.

Blue nova got left in the dust in the big tire finals against that blown hemi Camaro but that nova did really damn good. Won small tire finals and made it to the big tire finals. Crazy shit

when i seen that it reminded me of a time i went to pick up a work friend and was wearing loafers and the carpet was so dirty in their house my shoe got stuck to the carpet, ho i wish it would have been the race track instead.

With the big tire class it's literally endless possibility, you could be up against a street car or a promod at any given time. The fact he made it to the final and tree'd the hell out of the promod is quite an achievement!
its a 2800 lb top sportsman car with no extra weight...., not legal for pm and tagged sportsman. Id say were lucky to be in 2200 hp range

You got to love when you go to a no prep event and end up racing a frigin pro mod.
Thats why brackets are the only way to go, that last race was a perfect example of, whoever spends the most will win the race.

Hey 1320, I really dig EVERY video you guys produce, but just one thing: I'd really like to see you guys would show their E.T.'s and if its a 1/8 or 1/4 mile run, unless it's a "no time car" Other then that guys, keep up the excellent work, you guys rock!!

It's really easy to tell if it's 1/4 or 1/8. Just look at how fast their moving and how long the race lasts. If a slow car does a 7 second pass it's not going to be 1/4 mile now is it?

That thing must have a nasty head/cam combo. Man it pulls strong up top for a nitrous motor on 1 kit.
Marcus Mar I'm betting that it's a progressive setup, which means he is spraying way more up top at 9k rpms than he is as he's leaving the line at 4k or so. Basically controlled using the engine's speed and the vehicle's speed to set the peramiters of how much the system will spray and when. Just my guess, though.

400 has the same "rev limit"....but ya get a bigger bore
