  • This is the second of two parts. Here is a link to Part 1, "Cuba by Cruise Ship:" • Cuba by Cruise Ship
Our Cuba cruise continued with a day of relaxation at sea before the Sirena anchored in Samana Bay in the northeastern part of Dominican Republic. A tender brought us to shore where we toured the villages of Samana and Sanchez, far removed from the beaten tourist path. In the afternoon, we boarded a speedboat shuttle to Cayo Levantado, nicknamed “Bacardi Island” for the rum ads photographed there years ago. Indeed, this tiny island was a tropical paradise.
The final port we visited was the Bahamas tourist trap, Nassau. Here, the Sirena competed for dock space with 5 megaships from other cruise lines. Our video focuses on the resort town’s sights while sparing you from the ever-present crowds, traffic jams and hucksters.
Not having to rush to the airport upon arrival in Miami, we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and we were among the last passengers to disembark.
